16 Chefs Compete - Recap

After the elimination of Steven and the unfortunate health problems of Jason, only Natalie, Carrie, Will, Gina, Amanda, Krupa, Monterrey, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Paul, Tommy, Brendan, Jennifer, Chino, Jamie, and Elise are still alive in the competition for the prize. The competition continues with the Blue Team talking to each other on what they did that night. They say that they have to be working as a team. Jonathan tells the Blue Team that if they are too good to communicate, they need to leave it at the door. At 5:35 AM the next day, Chef Ramsey wakes up the contestants for the first challenge with the help of a 10-year-old guitar player playing really loud. Monterrey is upset and tells that he wanted to grab the kid’s guitar and break it. Tommy loves it and says that he would be doing the same thing if someone gave him a new guitar.

They all get outside and Brendan takes notice of Carrie in her shirt with no pants outfit. The teams split into pairs and start cooking 3 cuts of meat. Right off, Elise and Carrie, who are paired up together, are fighting as to who is going to cook the meat. Will is the odd man out and has to cook on the grill by himself, but he gets his out first with no problem. Afterward, Ramsey looks at the cuts of meat. Amanda and Krupa get the red team 4 points. Brendan and Jonathan get the blue team 2 points. Elise and Carrie get the red team 1 point. Chino and Tommy get 3 points. Jamie and Natalie get 3 points. Paul and Monterrey get 2 points. Jennifer, Gina and Elizabeth get 2 point. With the score 10-7 with the women leading it is up to Will to try to win it. With 4 points to win, Will comes up and wins it for the Blue Team with perfect cuts of meat. The reward is Palm Springs in a private jet. The Red Team has to clean the grills and also do other things throughout the day.

The ladies start cleaning and Elise says that she hates Carrie. However, the other ladies are upset that Elise had to try to show off. Meanwhile, Ramsey and the Blue Team fly off in the private jet to Palm Springs and enjoy the view of the Canyons. The Blue Team sits down and gets a meal served to them. Ramsey jokes that they couldn’t get a dish out and that the chef in Palm Springs got 3 at the same time. Meanwhile, the Red Team get served meat blended up and served in a glass. The women are grossed out and have to drink the meat. Natalie vomits and the other women manage to drink it. Back in Palm Springs, Ramsey gets to know the Blue Team and asks them what their ambitions are. Each have short answers about supporting their family or being recognized, but Brendan goes on and on about how his family are successful.

Back at Hell’s Kitchen, the Red Team gets a delivery. It is a whole cow. They are instructed that they have to cut it all up. They manage to do it with no errors. At 8:22 PM the Red Team are preparing potatoes and tell that they are the winners because they are going to be the ones who are going to be prepared for tomorrow’s dinner service. The men get back and at 10:42 PM, Carrie decides that it is good to kick back and not prepare. The rest of the team look at that and feel that she is not contributing. They watch as Brendan and Carrie talk and flirt. She tells Brendan sweet dreams and calls him over again. They go in the room tighter. The next day at 7:32 AM the Blue Team prepares for the dinner service while the Red Team strategize their plan and practice making the dishes. They are on the same page and are ready.

The dinner service opens at 6:13 PM and guests arrive. Will and Carrie are going to making the Caesar Salad in the dinning area while the other members of the team are in the kitchen. The Red Team starts off at a shaky start when Jennifer messes up on her Brisket. Chino burns the risotto twice before getting it right and getting it out there. The Red Team explodes on the appetizers, but Carrie has an issue navigating the map to make the Caesar Salad. Krupa is sent in to assist her. The Blue Team lack communication and Brendan sends out the Bass too early. The Red Team manage to catch up to entree and are getting it good

7:04, Brendan says that he started a new Bass, but Ramsey doesn’t believe him. Brendan lies to Ramsey and says that it is good, but then comes clean and says that it is the same Bass. Ramsey hates that and Chino tells everyone to get moving and Brendan is told that he is going to be eliminated if he does it again. Meanwhile, Elise barks out orders to her team and points with the tongs. Ramsey tells her to shut her fat mouth and stop pointing at him with the tongs. The other chefs are happy that Ramsey shut her up. Back on the Blue Team, they get synchronized, but everything is wrong and undercooked or overcooked. Ramsey tells that they haven’t gotten one entree out and it is horrible. Elise goes back to barking her type of motivation and Krupa moves out with the meat. However, she accidentally knocks it over. She tells Ramsey and he tells Monterrey to give their meat to the Red Team when they are done with it. Back on the Blue Team, Brendan screws up again and Ramsey tells them to stop and shut it down. They failed again. The Red Team is asked to finish serving and cooking the Blue Team’s entrees

The Blue Team go out into the lobby and are upset and Will tells that he is tired of being beaten out by women. Will tells that Brendan and Chino messed up bad and that is what cost them the night. The Red Team manages to finish the night off strong and Ramsey is impressed with their hard work. The Blue Team comes out and Ramsey asks what went wrong again. Jonathan and Chino get into it when Jonathan tells that it was Chino’s fault. Chino fights back and says that it is because they don’t communicate. The team also picks Brendan to go home for his lack of talent on the Bass. Chino and Brendan come down and asks if they are done. Both say that they are not. Ramsey decides and it is Brendan who is eliminated from the competition.
