Biting British chef Gordon Ramsay tutors and tortures 12 aspiring restaurateurs vying for their own eatery. In the opener, the hopefuls are split into two teams for an opening-night challenge that becomes a nightmare for the customers.
2 :01x02 - Day 2
The teams compete in a squid-cleaning race for a dinner with---and cooked by---Gordon before enduring a day of training for the restaurant's second night. Unfortunately, the chef's lessons leave the patrons disgusted enough to take matters into their own hands.
3 :01x03 - Day 3
The remaining chefs face their third night in the kitchen, which turns out to be someone's last stand after the pressure---and Gordon's goading---prove to be too much to handle. After that, a second wannabe is cut from the roster.
4 :01x04 - Day 4
The players attempt to re-create Gordon's signature dishes for a discerning crowd at an L.A. eatery.
5 :01x05 - Day 5
Tensions in the kitchen rise during an all-Italian night at the restaurant, where one of the teams plays dirtier than Ramsey's mouth and another makes a move that throws everyone for a loop.
6 :01x06 - Day 6
The two teams must create their own menus for their sixth night at the restaurant, which ends with one more of the wannabes getting the boot. After that, a power failure adds to the tension as the teams are broken up for a night of preparing desserts in front of the diners.
7 :01x07 - Day 7
The final four have to create a haute-cuisine meal made entirely of leftovers from the previous night's dinner service. The winner gets to cook alongside Ramsay on a national TV show, which raises the temperature in the kitchen even higher.
8 :01x08 - Day 8
Gordon orders his final three hopefuls to serve their signature dishes to a dining room packed with their family members, which proves a little too daunting for one overworked contestant.
9 :01x09 - Day 9
In the finale, Gordon's final two competitors try to impress the chef during a simulation that tests their ability to run a restaurant, including the kitchen, a staff and the front of the house. In addition, the eliminated wannabes return to play a part in the challenge. And perhaps wreak some havoc.

A former pro-soccer-player-turned-Michelin-starred-chef, Ramsay has conquered London's haute cuisine scene. Now he's crossing the Pond again, to discover or create America's next culinary star. The heat is on and the stakes are high as the contestants endure Ramsay's hellishly intense culinary boot camp for a chance to win the ultimate culinary prize the coveted title of Executive Chef of a luxurious fine-dining restaurant at the brand-new Red Rock Casino Resort Spa in Las Vegas. In addition, the winner will be eligible to receive a financial interest in the restaurant and assist in the design of the eatery.
12 :02x02 - 9 Chefs
After a disastrous opening night, the women deal with their defeat while the men prepare for their next challenge. But when the pressure is on, both teams face setbacks as the stress cracks one wannabe chef for good while another gets pulled from the kitchen. Per Ramsay's request, the contestants learn that a good restaurant is not just about food but also about service, and they get a taste of what it's like to be a waiter at a restaurant. With Ramsay up in smoke, two are put on the chopping block and one is forced to leave.
13 :02x03 - 8 Chefs
After another frustrating dinner service, Ramsay teaches the group a lesson in communication and timing, which are key to a successful restaurant. But when gender roles are challenged, Ramsay isn't the only one frustrated with the wannabe chefs as each team works harder to prove the opposite sex wrong. The third night's goal is to have a complete dinner service, but find out who can't cut it and is kicked out of the kitchen.

With seven chefs remaining, Chef Ramsay's hoping for complete dinner services from the teams. He gets half his wish.
16 :02x06 - 6 Chefs
Inspiration is Ramsay's next lesson as the two teams battle it out with original dishes to win a night out in the town. With the stakes even higher, Ramsay gives them the opportunity to create their own menu for the night's dinner service. But even with the freedom of cooking up the meal of their choice, one wannabe chef can't stand the heat and gets cooked for good.
17 :02x07 - 5 Chefs
With only five remaining contestants, Ramsay turns up the heat as the two teams merge and the wannabe chefs compete for the first time as individuals. While some take a trip to Las Vegas with Ramsay and get a taste of what it's like to own a restaurant at the Red Rock Casino Resort, others let jealousy eat away at them. As the show opens its eighth night, the group must complete the dinner service together, but teamwork doesn't come easy for these competing chefs and one is put on the chopping block.

Dinner service begins nicely for the final four, but it doesn't end that way. When the dishes are cleared, three chefs are left.

After a surprising elimination round, the remaining three contestants realize that no one is ever safe in the kitchen and tension amounts as they each strive to be the last one standing. With the finals approaching, Ramsay tests their leadership skills and gives them each a chance to run the kitchen. But his job is not as easy as it seems and one wannabe chef learns that it takes more than good cooking to win it all.

It's soup to nuts (not to mention decor design, waitstaff management and everything else) as the two finalists are each in charge of a restaurant. Then it's toques off to the winner, who'll also be off to Las Vegas to run a real restaurant.
21 :03x01 - 12 Chefs Compete
Raucous British chef Gordon Ramsay returns for a third summer to both tutor and torture culinary wannabes, who will be divided into two teams (men vs. women) in this season opener. A job as a Las Vegas head chef for the winner lies ahead, but surviving Ramsay is a dubious task. The first contestant will be eliminated at the show's end.
22 :03x02 - 11 Chefs Compete
This weeks food prep challenge winner will get the chance to spend time with Chef Ramsey outside of the kitchen. The end of the day will see ten players remaining.
23 :03x03 - 10 Chefs Compete
The remaining 10 competitors will be challenged to cook breakfast for a group of visiting service men and women. The winning team will receive a day of rest while the losers get clean up duty. During dinner prep, one members meal goes wrong and may be potentially poisonous. The next challenger is dismissed.
24 :03x04 - 9 Chefs Compete
The remaining chefs compete in a blindfolded taste test. The losers must then taste items that are somewhat less than appetizing while the winners dine with Chef Ramsay. At the dinner service, the dishes are critiqued and rated by the diners.
25 :03x05 - 8 Chefs Compete
The seven remaining chefs must purchase and prepare food for a wedding reception. The bride and groom must approve, and one presentation goes very badly. Later, a kitchen power struggle mars the dinner service
26 :03x06 - 7 Chefs Compete
In an effort to foster gender equality, Melissa joins the men's team as it vies with the women to see which team can prepare better lobster dishes. But first they must kill the lobsters. At that evening's dinner service, one team has its worst night yet.
27 :03x07 - 6 Chefs Compete
The first challenge facing the six remaining contestants: make appetizers and entrées from leftovers. Then the teams must come up with their own menus for the evening's dinner service. The diners definitely prefer one team's menu, but that's not necessarily a good thing since devising selections and executing them are two different things.
28 :03x08 - 5 Chefs Compete
The five remaining chefs are combined into one team and compete head-to-head to impress 100 hungry high school students. The winning chef wins a trip with Chef Ramsay and one other of their choice to the Green Valley Ranch resort.
At dinner service, two contestants vie for power, which makes Chef Ramsay lose his cool and send someone home during dinner.
29 :03x09 - 3 Chefs Compete
The three remaining chefs prepare fine-dining versions of classic American dishes for outside judges---their mothers, who don't know whose plates they're sampling. Then each contestant gets to run Hell's Kitchen during dinner service. They must watch for subtle traps set for them by sous chefs MaryAnn and Scott.

In the next-to-last episode of the season, the two remaining contestants take on a final challenge, and it involves more than just cooking. They must design restaurants of their own---the decor as well as the menus---then manage them.

In the third-season finale, tempers flare as the two finalists prepare one last dinner service at Hell's Kitchen before Chef Ramsay picks a winner, who earns a job running a restaurant at a Las Vegas casino-resort.

Season four begins with 15 hopefuls playing to win a job as a chef along side Gordon Ramsey in his L.A. restaurant. The contestants will be divided into teams of 'men vs. women' after preparing their signature dish. Gordon will be impressed by most of the entries, but one will make him retch.

The season's first challenge finds the contestants slicing halibut into thin 6 ounce fillets. One member of each team must serve as a maitre d' during the dining service, and one contestant will be eliminated at the shows conclusion.

Live chickens awaken the contestants, followed by a challenge of plucking their morning "wake up callers" and creating a family styled dinner out of them.

The two teams must compete to see who can prepare the most pasta for the evening dinner service, with a trip to Santa Monica for the winners. One contestant winds up in the hospital after an accident in the kitchen.
36 :04x05 - 11 Chefs Compete
The chefs receive their first challenge, create a gourmet pizza. The winning team will head to Santa Barbara for a gourmet meal, while the losers will be sentenced to taking pizza orders during dinner service and then deliver them, at which one contestant is rushed to the hospital after suffering an accident.
37 :04x06 - 10 Chefs Compete
This episode finds the chefs challenged to satisfy a picky teen as they cook up a meal for her birthday party. The winners will be chosen by the teen by picking the menu theme she prefers, while the losers are stuck with a perky party planner to help with the party decisions.
38 :04x07 - 9 Chefs Compete
The nine remaining chefs are challenged to compete in a taste test, with the winner receiving a day at the spa and the losers sent to clean the dorm. Once the dinner ervice is completed, Chef Ramsay must decide on which tastes worse, raw food or a lack or communication within the kitchen.
39 :04x08 - 8 Chefs Compete
The group dynamics are drastically changed when Chef Ramsey asks for a volunteer to switch sides. This week's challenge consists of creating 4 new dishes from 20 ingredients. One chef requires a medic after injuring himself during the challenge.
40 :04x09 - 7 Chefs Compete
The opening challenged for the seven remaining chefs is to prepare dishes in a relay race, with the winners receiving surfing lessons and the losers being forced to clean the restaurant. The dinner service finds the teams creating their own menus. Following the difficulty for one team is a most unusual elimination ceremony.

Chef Ramsey hopes to inspire his wanna be chefs by bringing them to the restaurant of last years winner in London West Hollywood. Back in the kitchen, now with the teams merged each chef is given one main ingredient to uses in their dish. The dinner service finds one chef burning the rice and another scorching their hand.
42 :04x11 - 5 Chefs Compete
Chef Ramsey challenges the five remaining contestants to teach cooking impaired housewives how to prepare a gourmet meal, with a winner receiving personal lessons from Chefs Mark Peel and Ben Ford. The dinner service finds all the chefs struggling with a dozen of appetizers, main courses and desserts.
43 :04x12 - 4 Chefs Compete
The final four contestants are challenged to cook a meal for 80 expectant moms. A $1,000 shopping spree is awaiting the chosen winner, while the others will be left to clean up after the luncheon. Chef Ramsey's hand is burned during the dinner service by one careless contestant, angering him.
44 :04x13 - 3 Chefs Compete
Chef Ramsay creates a breakfast for the 3 remaining contestants and a few chosen guests and then challenges them to recreate what they have just ate. Ramsay sabotages the dinner service as a way to see how the contestants will react to this adversity.
45 :04x14 - 2 Chefs Compete
The two finalists are prepared to be judged by chef Ramsey's executive chefs from around the world, as they visit Gordon Ramsey's New York restaurant to create their signature dishes. Back in Los Angeles, they will be challenged to design and run their own restaurant.
46 :04x15 - Winner Announced
The final two contestants are tested in their last dinner service before Chef Ramsey makes his choice over who will run his L.A. restaurant.
47 :05x01 - 16 Chefs Compete
Season five begins with Chef Ramsey ordering each contestant to cook up their best dish. But all does not go well. The show has the most ever chefs this season with 16, and is unwieldy, which makes one member of each team responsible for busing tables. And for one, it is a disaster. The kitchen proves to be worse. The winner gets a executive-chef position with an Atlantic City, hotel.

Chef Ramsey puts the Red and Blue teams in a new challenge, which causes tempers to flare and will result in the dismissal of one more contestant.

Chef Ramsey has the remaining 14 chefs make a visit to the meat locker to learn about every cut of beef, then gives them a challenge by declaring the kitchen a steak house for the night.

50 young football players and cheerleaders will be served breakfast by the 13 remaining chefs. One team runs short on eggs, and 1 more chef is released.

The remaining 10 chefs are challenged to use leftovers to create tapas-styled dishes (aka, small plates). Both teams are nearly derailed at dinner by one chef's mistake, and the lack of cohesion within the blue team steams chef Ramsey.
54 :05x08 - 9 Chefs Compete
The nine remaining chefs feel the pressure with the presence of guest diners Eric McCormack and Robert Patrick, plus they also face a taste-test competition.
55 :05x09 - 8 Chefs Compete
The remaining 8 chefs will be working with king crab, and each team will show Chef Ramsey their strongest presentation. Dinner service will find the teams creating a menu.
56 :05x10 - 7 Chefs Compete
The six remaining chefs are on their own now that Chef Ramsey has dissolved the teams. This week's challenge is for the chefs to use 14 simple ingredients in a dish. Later, the chefs will once again need to work as one for dinner service, but things heat up and one chef finds themselves in need of medical attention.

The remaining six chefs head to the Borgata Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, where the show's winner will be named a top chef, and are challenged to create a signature dish in which would be served at the Borgata.

The four remaining chefs have a meal cooked for them by Chef Ramsey, then are challenged to recreate what he had prepared. Later, a surprise proposal is planned for the dinner service's desert course.

The remaining three chefs will be cooking up a meal for the 100 top chefs in L.A. The winner will make an appearance on FOX's local morning show, while the losers must clean and iron the Hell's Kitchen's linens and watch the winner on TV. At dinner service, each of the three must "run the pass," a test which only two can pass.

It's back to Atlantic City for the final 2 chefs as they discuss their possible menus with the chief operating officer of the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa. But first they must discuss their space designs at the restaurant with an architect for the final dinner service competition.

Season six returns with one change. Instead of working alone, now the red and blue teams work will be a team effort. The first dinner service (which is a predictable disaster) comes next before the first chef is eliminated, but an old friend shows up. Dinner service 2 winds up being an even bigger disaster.

The remaining 14 chefs get a surprise awakening in the middle of the night to make a spaghetti dinner for a group of hungry firefighters. The remaining 14 chefs are challenged to create perfectly proportioned 6-inch sausages. The dinner service will include Drew Lachey, John O'Hurley, Tom Green, Melinda Clarke, Chris "Kid" Reid and Kristy Swanson are among those being served cold and salty meal. Chef Ramsey is unhappy.
66 :06x05 - 12 Chefs compete
The remaining 12 chefs have the honor of creating a welcome back home dinner for a returning U.S. marine, where the losers will be left in charge of cleaning and decorating the dinning room for a party under the watchful eye of Gordon Ramsey's wife, Tana. Later, chef Ramsey gets heated up during dinner service over cold food.
67 :06x06 - 11 Chefs compete
The remaining 11 chefs are challenged to create a full three-course meal which only totals up to 700 calories. The winning team gets a day at the beach and volleyball pointers from 2000 Olympian Annette Davis, while the losers must prep both kitchens. One chef snaps back at Chef Ramsey, while another is taken to the hospital's emergency room.

The remaining ten chefs are rolling the dice to see what ingredients they can use in their challenge dish, with the winners earning a trip to Las Vegas. Later, chefs from Gordon Ramsey's own restaurants help out in the dinner service, which is interrupted by repeating mistakes and one bossy teammate.

The remaining four chefs meet British child actor-impressionist Felix Wright, a diminutive version of Chef Ramsey, then meet 80 other youngsters, who they will feed without serving any meat. Two chefs have a bad night at dinner service and one is let go.

The three finalists will create dishes from various parts of the world, which will be judged by international culinary experts. The final two chefs will battle it out in the final challenge and dinner service. Chef Gordon Ramsay will then choose the winner.

With only five chefs remaining, the contestants must prove that they have the passion and talent to move forward in the competition. In a challenge designed to test who has what it takes to cater to LA Market's high-profile clientele, Chef Ramsay asks the contestants to prepare and serve their signature dishes in food trucks to sell to the downtown Los Angeles lunch crowd. The chef with the most popular dish earns a Beverly Hills makeover by celebrity hairstylist Josh Eber and fashion guru Steven Cojocaru, while the rest of the contestants are forced to scrub down their food trucks and prepare HELL'S KITCHEN for dinner service. Later, a disappointing dinner service and underwhelming individual performances push Chef Ramsay to the edge.

Only four chefs remain, and the pressure is on for each contestant to prove to Chef Ramsay that he or she has the chops to move forward in the competition. The chef who most accurately replicates the dish and displays a keen ability to discern flavors earns a relaxing day at the spa. Emotions run high for the remaining four contestants who are more motivated and determined than ever after Chef Ramsay's sobering announcement that not one, but two chefs will be eliminated in the next round. In HELL'S KITCHEN's most sophisticated test to date, Chef Ramsay challenges the chefs to design and execute a balanced fusion dish that combines the flavors of two countries' distinct cuisines. Chef Ramsay enlists the help of three renowned executive chefs and experts in fusion cuisine: Philip Dubose of Asia de Cuba, Helene An of Crustacean and Lee Hefter of Spagoto select one winner who will earn a fine dining experience at Spago Beverly Hills while the remaining contestants are left behind at the dorms for Move-Out Day. With Jamie gone, only Natalie, Carrie, Will, Elizabeth, Paul, Tommy, Jennifer, and Elise remain left to claim the prize. The kitchen hosts a double seating and it is the Red versus the Blue in a race that only ends in disaster and what could be, a double-elimination.

With Jennifer out of the competition, Season 9 comes to a close in a two-part night where the final four chefs are going to have to bring it all to the table and try to get to the final round. The final two are revealed for the chance to go all the way to the BLT Steak position. It is between Will, Paul, Elise and Tommy to make it or break it.
