"Heroes" Weakness is also its strength. It's about a group of people, ordinary people, seemingly unrelated to one another. They turn out to each own a special trait. Two very different brothers find they can fly, a Japanese guy discovers he can travel through time and space with the power of his mind, and a young girl is surprised to know that she can withstand most any physical damage. I recently bought the season 1 DVD and fell in love with the series all over again while rewatching some episodes. The writing and storytelling are what sets this series apart from any other, sci-fi or otherwise. Each episode features seemingly random, unconnected events, but as the episodes progress, every event intertwines and climaxes in the finale. The story is well-paced, with few parts that seem to drag, and has enough twists and turns to keep you interested, guessing, and speculating all season long.
