Heroes: Once Upon a Time in Texas
Hiro's quest to right his wrongs and failures leads him to what he considers his biggest failure, his effort to save the love of his life, Charlie. Doing so without severely distorting the flow of events, however, is far from easy--and complicated by the manipulations of Samuel, whose own agenda is somewhat darker and more self-serving. Meanwhile, Noah in the past deals with his partner from Primatech and his family issues.

Three years in the past, Hero appears in Midland, TX and looks into the Burnt Toast Diner to see Charlie. A woman passes by him and notices he's in a hospital robe, and Hiro goes to steal some clothes. A young boy in a cowboy outfit stops him and Hiro explains that he's there to save the woman he loves, and resolve his greatest failure. As they go back to the diner, Hiro insists that he's the good guy and will stop Sylar. The boy gives Hiro his white hat, insisting that good guys wear white hat and black guys wear black. Episode Notes
Noah's partner, Lauren Gilmore, played by Elizabeth Rohm, was never seen in the first season. Using the standard pattern of Primatech, "one of us, one of them", she should/must be a metahuman, though there is never any indication of her power in this episode, or even a suggestion of it.
Robert Knepper is promoted to show star status in the opening credits as of this episode.
