Niki is digging a hole in the desert to bury the bodies of Linderman’s men. She turns up a new body, clearly present for a while and with a skull ring on its finger.

Claire tells her father that she’ll be out late if the football team wins, attending the post-game bonfire. He tells her to be careful.

Hiro is back in Tokyo and goes to see Ando at the office. He show his friend the 9th Wonders! comic that he bought in the future New York City, but Ando doesn’t believe it’s proof of Hiro’s powers… even though the comic shows the exact conversation they’re having about the comic book.

In New York City, Peter tries to fly but simply ends up crashing to the ground after leaps off a set of monkey bars in a children’s park. He goes to visit his brother Nathan and show him a library copy of Activating Evolution by Chandra Suresh. Nathan dismisses Peter’s claim of being able to fly and warns that a reporter is looking into the report of Peter’s supposed suicide attempt.

Mohinder is trying to work on his father’s research at his apartment. Eden brings in a meal and tries to calm him down, but a frustrated Mohinder throws his father’s laptop at the wall. Eden notices a small journal hidden inside, containing notes, a key, and an address for Sylar in Queens.



In Los Angeles at FBI headquarters, Agent Hanson tries to figure out how Matt found Molly at the crime scene of her parents’ death. She also wants to know where he heard the name “Sylar.” He finally admits that he can her other people’s thoughts, and demonstrates by reading her mind. Convinced, she offers him a position in the investigation.

Zach meets with Claire at school and wants to know about the missing tape. She’d prefer to forget the entire thing and tells him that he should try acting normal, because that’s what she plans to do from now on.

Isaac returns to his studio loft and finds Simone preparing to get his paintings to a show so he can use the money to pay for his rehab. She reveals that she’s tossed away his drugs and doesn’t believe his claims that he can paint the future. When Isaac tries to get her to stay, she leaves him. The phone rings and Hiro calls from Tokyo to warn him about the future where his skull is cut open. However, Isaac can’t understand Hiro’s Japanese and hangs up. In Tokyo, Hiro realizes the scene from the comic book where he saves the schoolgirl is about to occur. He and Ando go to the scene and Hiro freezes time to save her. Witnessing Hiro’s sudden disappearance and reappearance with the girl, Ando is forced to admit Hiro has superpowers and agrees to help him.

Niki finishes burying Linderman’s men in the desert and goes to see D.L.’s mother, Paulette. Niki notes that D.L.’s gang wore the same rings and she thinks he robbed Linderman of the $2 million and then killed his gang. Paulette insists that her son was innocent but Niki tells her to stay out of her life and Micah’s and leaves.

Audrey and Matt go to talk to Molly in a safe room at FBI headquarters, figuring Matt can learn something from her thoughts. Audrey explains that the serial killer, Sylar, leaves his victims pinned to the wall but without touching them physically or leaving any DNA evidence or fingerprints.

Mohinder and Eden go to Sylar’s address and have to break in. They find a copy of Activating Evolution and books about autopsies. Searching further they find a secret with a map showing the location of heroes. One of them pinpoints Nathan, who Eden recognizes from his political ads. In the back they find a curtained off area covered with multiple writings of “Forgive me” and “I have sinned.”



Matt and Audrey hear screaming and run ahead to see that a shadowy figure is trying to abduct the girl. The figure, presumably Sylar, runs away with Audrey in pursuit, while Matt tries to comfort Molly. Audrey manages to corner Sylar but he telekinetically forces her back and then forces her to point her gun at her own head. Before she can pull the trigger, Matt arrives and shoots Sylar several times. He drops to the ground but as Matt checks on Audrey, Sylar rises to his feet and floats up into the air.

While Hiro and Ando fly to L.A. from Tokyo, Simone runs into Peter as she‘s leaving the building. He tells her he’s quitting his job as he’s destined for bigger things, and she says that she hopes they’ll meet again.

The high school team has won and Claire goes to bonfire with Brody, who attempts to comfort her. He ends up kissing her and then leads her away while another girl watches them.

Matt arrives home and finds his wife mad at him, and when he overhears her thoughts about how she thinks he should leave, he storms out.

Claire and Brody end up on the bleachers, but when he tries to put the moves on her, she tries to get away and impales her head on a broken tree limb.

Niki has gone back to get Micah and they’re leaving. Micah mentions that he knows where D.L. is, but before he can explain further, a policeman pulls them over. He tells Niki that Mr. Linderman wants to see her.

Peter goes to Nathan’s campaign speech where Simone is also there. They start to talk but Nathan announces that a depressed Peter tried to commit suicide, and their father committed suicide after showing similar symptoms. Peter storms off and Simone goes after him.

Hiro and Ando arrive in L.A. and rent a Nissan Versa just like the one they drive in the future comic books. The comic shows them driving to Las Vegas.

Matt has gone to a bar and begins to overhear the thoughts of all the customers. However, he notices one man, a Haitian, whose thoughts he can’t read. He starts to go over to the man but collapses unconscious.

Mohinder and Eden bring in the police and go back to Sylar’s apartment. However, all of the evidence has now disappeared.

Peter approaches Nathan outside after the speech. Peter is furious and Nathan admits that he made the whole thing up. Peter goes away and runs into Simone, who tries to comfort him. They kiss… while Isaac studies a sketch he made of the two of them kissing.



In a morgue, a technician removes the branch from Claire’s head. After he leaves, Claire comes back to life… and realizes that her sternum has been cut open for an autopsy.


Oh shi…
