Matt Parkman wakes up to find himself strapped to a bed in a medical lab. Mr. Bennet walks in and explains that he’s not a member of any organization with initials. Bennet is able to tell that Matt is trying to read his mind, but is assistant the Haitian suppresses Matt’s abilities the same way he did at the bar. Despite the blockage, Matt manages to pick up one name from Bennet’s mind, and asks who “Claire” is. Mr. Bennet notes that Matt’s powers are developing faster than they anticipated and tells the Haitian to wipe Matt’s memories.


Go deep and clean him out

Hiro and Ando arrive in Las Vegas. As Hiro works how to explain in English to Isaac what will happen to him in five weeks, Ando notices the Montecito Casino and goes to do some casino. Niki and Micah are also at the Montecito and are taken to the penthouse to see Linderman’s assistant, Miss Sakomoto. Sakomoto tells Niki that Linderman will forgive her date if she “distracts” a politician arriving from New York.

The medical examiner is preparing to perform an autopsy on Claire and describes for the recording how her corpse was found naked in the examiner. The ME removes the branch from Claire’s head but is called away by a phone call. Claire regenerates back to life, closes up the open cut in her chest, and sneaks out of the morgue and back to her house, where she gets up to her room.



Mohinder approaches Nathan as he gets into a car and tries to warn him that his life is in danger. He tries to explain about Sylar but when he mentions strange powers, Nathan turns abruptly away and leaves. He goes to visit Peter, who is in bed with Simone after the events of the previous evening. Nathan accuses Peter of going to Suresh and telling the doctor about Nathan’s abilities, then tries to pay him to keep quiet. Peter refuses and after Nathan leaves, talks to Simone about their new relationship. Simone says she’s unwilling to jump immediately into a new relationship.

In the morning, Claire cleans up and goes to breakfast, but her father notices that she didn’t clear her feet. Unaware that he knows about her abilities, Claire listens as he tells her that she can tell him anything. He has to leave but warns that they’ll talk more later.

Mohinder goes back to his apartment where Eden brings in his father’s ashes. Wondering if there’s anything he can do, Mohinder decides to go back to India but Peter arrives and says that he has abilities.

Hiro tracks down Ando who has gambled away everything but their last dollar. Ando has put the money down at the roulette table at 26 black and it’s too late to withdraw the bet. Hiro freezes time and puts the roulette ball in the right slot. Hiro is concerned that he’s abusing his powers, but Ando points out that Peter Parker uses his powers to make money from photographing himself as Spider-Man.

As Niki prepares for her rendezvous with the politician, Micah tells her to be careful, because she won’t be safe at the other end of a webcam.

Mohinder doesn’t believe Peter when the latter tries to explain that he only has powers when he’s around someone with powers, and can’t prove it. Peter offers to take him to Isaac so he can demonstrate Isaac’s ability to see the future. Mohinder agrees.

Simone goes to Isaac’s loft to sell his paintings for rehab. He stops her from doing so, insisting that he needs them to prevent the future he’s drawn of New York City in an atomic explosion.

Zach talks to Claire at school and tries to get her to talk to the authorities about Brody’s attempted rape. She refuses, not wanting to draw attention to herself. Brody sees her, alive and well, and runs away.

Ando is making big money playing poker, thanks to Hiro using his powers to freeze time and swap cards.

Nathan arrives at the Montecito and Niki “accidentally” bumps into him. They end up chatting and go to his room.

Peter and Mohinder take the subway and arrive at Isaac’s apartment, but he doesn’t answer the door. He’s shot up with heroin and painting a new image of Claire being chased by a shadowy figure.

Another schoolgirl, Lori, approaches Claire and asks what happens. Lori eventually reveals that Brody tries to rape her as well. Claire sees Brody with yet another girl and decides to stop him.

Hiro and Ando have bought new suits with their wealth but they get thrown out of the casino and one of their victims accuses them of cheating. Ando tries to convince them that Hiro has super powers and can easily beat them. They respond by casually knocking out Hiro and advancing on Ando.


You said you wanted a costume. Now you have one...

Nathan and Niki share champagne and talk about each other. Niki admits that she has a husband who ran off, while Nathan admits he has a wife and kids. Niki reluctantly leaves, which Nathan accepts. However, as she gets into the elevator she sees herself in the mirrored walls and her reflection starts acting on her own. “Niki” emerges from the elevator and one of Linderman’s thugs tries to warn her, threatening Micah. “Niki” beats him up and threatens to kill him if he threatens her or her son again. She ten goes back to Nathan’s room and confronts him, stripping down. The symbol has appeared on her right shoulder.

Peter and Mohinder are on the subway returning from Isaac’s loft when suddenly time slows down, and stops.

Claire sits on the bleachers (an image from one of Isaac’s paintings) when Brody comes by. She asks for a ride home and asks to drive. She accelerates while accusing Brody of trying to assault her. He doesn’t bother denying him and says no one will believe her if he lies about her coming on to him. In response, Claire drives the car directly into a wall.

Mr. Bennett and the Haitian enter Nathan’s room and find them asleep. He tells the Haitian to take just one of them.

Peter is the only one affected by time stopping on the subway. A Japanese man he’s never seen approaches him, and addresses him English. The man identifies himself as Hiro Nakamura, and says he has come from the future to give Peter a message.
