Fallout - Recap

Claire and Mr. Bennet return from the prom and he reveals that he knows about he powers, having seen the tape she and Zach made. He says that he wanted to protect her and that he's done thing he isn't proud of to keep her safe. Mr. Bennet assures her that Jackie's killer has been taken care of, and Claire mentions that Lyle knows about her powers along with Zach. He says that he'll talk to Lyle and she should have Zach destroy the tape.

Audrey and Matt are at the high school and figure that Sylar was involved because of the M.O. Following the blood trail, they determine where Sylar was taken away, and conclude that he accomplices, then go to talk to Peter, who is in custody.

Peter wakes up in a jail cell to find Nathan there. Nathan assures his brother he'll get him out. When Peter asks him why he destroyed the painting, Nathan admits it showed Peter dead and he did it so Peter wouldn't see it and get ideas that might put him at risk. Peter insists that he and the others with powers are supposed to stop the nuclear explosion that Isaac painted. Nathan says that Peter can't do it, and morphs into Sylar. Sylar tells Peter that he knows nothing about power… and Peter wakes up from his dream.

Jessica shoots D.L. but only hits him in the left shoulder. He pushes Micah to cover and draws Jessica's fire, then phases as the bullet goes through the head. He gets away with Micah while Jessica approaches the car to find them gone. She sees Niki's reflection in the car window and angrily slams the door and breaks the window.



At Primatech, as Eden waits outside, Mr. Bennet goes into a sealed chamber and talks to Sylar, saying they fixed him up but have neutralized his powers. Sylar refuses to answer to the name "Gabriel" and insists that now that he can see how things work, they want him so they can figure out how he can have multiple powers instead of just one. Bennet suggests that Sylar is insane from all the powers he's absorbed, but Sylar insists that he'll will take one more person's power: Claire's. Bennet is just amused and leaves Sylar in the darkened chamber, then calls his superior. He suggests that they eliminate Sylar immediately but his boss disagrees. Bennet tells Eden their orders but she insists that Sylar needs to be eliminated. The Haitian arrives and Bennet talks with him in private.



D.L. and Micah have escaped into the nearby forest and D.L. leaves his jacket behind. They find a locked cabin and D.L. opens the door finds some material to use as bandages. Micah tries to explain that Jessica is the one who shot at them but Niki wouldn't hurt them. However, D.L. collapses from blood loss and Micah tries to wake him up.



Matt and Audrey talk to Peter and he insists that he didn't kill Jackie. Audrey wonders why he has his own blood on his clothes but no injuries, and why he's in Texas. When Peter refuses to answer, she has Matt try to scan Peter's mind but the two are caught in a telepathic feedback loop. Matt manages to pick out the thought "save the cheerleader" from Peter's mind. At the same time, Peter picks up Audrey's thoughts that the cheerleader is dead and is confused, until she explains that Jackie was the cheerleader and Claire is okay. He tries to tell them that they need to protect Claire from Sylar, but they leave him there.

In Brooklyn, Mohinder returns to his apartment to find a note from Eden welcoming him back. He calls someone and says he sent them the List but the others on it haven't been warned. When the person doesn't take him seriously, Mohinder hangs up but then finds a name with Isaac's name and address.

Eden visit Isaac, who is sketching another drawing. He says he's just drawing for fun and needs the drugs to paint the future. Eden tells him that they saved Claire and Isaac figures that the future isn't set in stone, and they can stop the explosion. As Eden leave, she slips him a cell phone and a security key, and wishes him luck.



Hiro and Ando get to the high school and believe the prophecy has come to pass. Hiro thinks that they can't save the world but Ando disagrees. Hiro insists that they need to find Peter and Isaac, and then stop the bomb. They're interrupted when Hiro gets a call: from Isaac, who wants to set up a meeting.

Audrey interrogates Claire while Mr. Bennet is present. While Claire explains what happened, Matt in the next room tries to read her thoughts but gets static. Audrey wonders how neither Peter nor Claire were hurt but Claire doesn't admit to anything, and Bennet insists that Audrey release Claire now that she's answered her question. As they leave, Matt talks to Mr. Bennet and assures him they'll get the killer. Once they're gone, Matt tells Audrey about the static and how he's experienced it once before: in the bar right before he disappeared for a day. As they leave, the Haitian emerges from hiding and then leaves.



Jessica searches through the forest and finds D.L.'s blood trail, but Niki manifests, concerned that they hurt D.L. The two argue about whether D.L. is a criminal, and Niki tries to reassert control. Jessica tells her she's too weak, but they're interrupted when they hear Micah calling for help in the distance.

Claire and Mr. Bennet visit Peter, and Bennet thanks Peter for saving his daughter and owes him a favor. Claire asks for a moment alone with Peter and asks if he knew he had the same power, and he realizes that he gained the regeneration ability from her. Claire thanks him for being her hero, and as she leaves Peter starts to cough.

Jessica arrives at the cabin where Micah says D.L. needs help. When she goes inside, D.L. ambushes her but she knocks him aside. When Micah tries to interfere, she instinctively knocks him into some rocks. Niki manages to take control, seeing he's injured, and she apologizes to both of them.



Claire meets with Zach at the school and destroys the tapes. He apologizes for inviting her to Homecoming but she says not to worry about it because she wanted to go with him as a friend.

Hiro and Ando meet Isaac at a bus depot, and the painter explains he can only paint the future when he's on drugs. Hiro explains what he saw in the future, including Isaac's death, but Isaac says that the killer is taken care of. When Ando mentions Charlie's death, Isaac shows them sketches he did of Hiro and Charlie that he made without the drugs. He reveals that they need to stop the explosion and that he drew a painting of an exploding man.

When Claire gets home, she talks to her brother about what happened with their dad. Lyle has no idea what she's talking about and he can't remember who picked him up at school.

D.L. tries to reassure Niki, but she warns that Jessica is too strong and will regain control. When Micah trips, D.L. is distracted long enough for Niki to find a patrolman and turn herself in for murder.

Matt and Audrey follow Mr. Bennet to Primatech and keep an eye on the past. They banter back and forth and he picks up her thought that she's cute, but she quickly denies it. They spot Bennet talking to the Haitian, who Matt recognizes. He tries to read their minds, causing a nosebleed, but he manages to pick up one word: Sylar.



Claire meets Zach at school and tries to talk to him about her brother's amnesia, but he gets angry and wants to know why she's toying with him. He points out that she hasn't talked to him since the sixth grade and he's got no idea why she's trying now. Realizing his memory has been stolen, Claire runs away.

At Primatech, Bennet talks to Sylar, who claims the two of them alike as they both "collect" people with powers. Bennet says that they'll take him apart and leaves him in the dark.

Isaac tries to paint the future and with Hiro's urging, his eyes go white as he manages to use his powers without drugs.



Claire calls her father who remembers what happened. She's worried that someone is wiping everyone's memories, and her father tells her to stay put until he can get there. As she hangs up, the Haitian arrives and says that he works for her father and he's under orders to wipe her memory. He says that he won't her memories but she'll have to pretend he did to convince her father.

Isaac completes is new painting: Hiro holding a dinosaur and confronting a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Hiro vows to find the sword.



At his apartment, Mohinder receives a call from Eden. She says she's been lying to him all along but now she plans to make amends, starting by killing the man who murdered Chandra. She hangs up and goes into the observation room to Sylar's cell. Sylar recognizes her and she admits she was watching Chandra. She boasts that she's going to use her power to force him to kill himself with her gun, but he telekinetically pulls her through the glass window. He prepares to open up her skull to take her power but she shoots herself to thwart him.



Nathan gets Peter out of jail, but on the way out he collapses. Peter finds himself dreaming of a New York City which is almost entirely empty except the others: Nathan, Claire, Simone, Isaac, Hiro, Ando, Mohinder, Matt, Niki, Micah, and D.L. Peter's hands start to glow as Isaac holds Simone back, and then he explodes. Peter wakes up in Texas and says that the prophesied explosion is his fault. He collapses unconscious and Nathan holds him and tells him to breathe.
