As Peter examines the gunshot Simone, Isaac wonders if he can do anything. Peter confirms that she's dead and Isaac tries to shoot him. Peter turns invisible and escapes.

In Las Vegas, Hiro tries to enter the casino but security turns him away despite the fact he claims he was invited by Mr. Linderman. Hiro warns the guard that he'll get in no matter what he does.

At Primatech, Thompson interrogates Mr. Bennett, who says that he doesn't remember anything after driving is wife home. Thompson is skeptical and Mr. Bennet insists on finding Claire. Thompson tells him that the Haitian must have erased Bennet's memories and his family's, and now he has to detach himself from Claire. When Bennet questions his new orders, Thompson tells him to do what he's told. Thompson ten leaves him there and goes into the next room, where a captive Matt is watching through a one-way mirror as Thompson's agent Candice watches him. Matt confirms that Mr. Bennet is telling the truth and asks when he can be released after helping them. Thompson tells him Matt's working toward his freedom and leaves with Candice.



The Haitian is driving Claire to safety and notes she hasn't said anything all day. When she says he isn't going to tell her anything, he assures her he'll tell her as soon as he knows, but she'll have to remain on the run from the Company. He gets out and uses a pay phone to call someone, speaking in French. When he returns, he tells Claire that she'll have to leave the country that night.

Two FBI agents approach Nathan about illegal campaign funds that the Linderman Group donated. As they make sure the room is surveillance-free, they ask why Linderman's Las Vegas organization is supporting Nathan in New York. Nathan says that his father worked for the group as an attorney. Once they determine the room is clean of bugs, Nathan says that they agreed not to see him in person, but they want him to deliver Linderman to them. Linderman has requested a meeting with Nathan, who explains that the millionaire is going to tell him how he can win and what favor he'll need to do in return. The FBI agents want Nathan to wear a wire and leave. Pete appears and Nathan explains that he's been working with the FBI since Heidi's accident. Peter is guilty about Simone's death and Nathan offers to call the police anonymously to deal with Isaac while Peter stays put. Peter refuses, saying that anyone he's near is in danger. Nathan suggests that Peter work with Mohinder, who wants to find a cure. Nathan's manager comes in to tell Nathan his flight to Las Vegas is ready. Peter turns invisible and slips out.

Mr. Bennet goes to the hotel room where he and Sandra are staying. Sandra thinks that Claire is at a cheerleading retreat and they're staying at the hotel because their basement's flooded. He says he'll be taking a trip and Sandra walks up to him and turns on the radio, then whispers that he can't go. She explains that he told her to pretend she didn't remember everything and then told her about the Company and Claire. He gave her a message to give to him, in his own handwriting, which says that Claire is safe and not to go after her. He warns that no one can learn about what she knows and she promises to play dumb. Candice arrives to tell Mr. Bennet that Isaac is trying to call him about Simone.



Sylar (still impersonating Zane Taylor) and Mohinder are going over the list. Mohinder wants to run Sylar's DNA sample against his father's formula, claiming the earlier tests didn't work. Sylar suggests they take a break but Mohinder wants to make sure everyone on the list is warned about Sylar. Sylar offers to call Isaac and Mohinder agrees, offering him a cup of tea. Sylar tries to make the call but the line is busy. As he drinks the tea, he wonders whom they're going to call next. Mohinder informs him that he's found who he's looking for, as Sylar collapses unconscious from the drugged tea.

Nathan arrives at Linderman's casino and sees a depressed Hiro standing outside with the ripped painting. Nathan gets him alone and asks where Ando is and if Hiro's still trying to obtain the sword. Hiro says he sent Ando back to Japan and asks for his help getting past the security guard. Nathan identifies Hiro as a deliveryman and hints that Linderman will be displeased if he doesn't get the delivery. The guard tells Hiro to take the painting to the curator.



The Haitian and Claire arrive at an airport in Texas and Claire complains about her new identity. He warns her that there's no one she can trust and to avoid Peter Petrelli. The Haitian explains that Claire can't hide with Peter in New York, as he can't even take care of himself. Claire shows her papers and gets past security, but when the Haitian follows he realizes that Claire has stolen them. The security guards stop him while Claire slips away.

The police arrive at Isaac's apartment and ask about an anonymous call they received that Simone may be injured. They want to look around but Simone comes to the door and confirms she's fine. After they leave, Mr. Bennet arrives and Candice reveals that she's using her illusion powers to impersonate Simone while concealing the corpse. Bennet has set it up so it appears Simone is traveling in Europe indefinitely, and a cleaner crew will tidy up the apartment. When Isaac wonders how he's supposed to go on without Simone, Candice taunts him by assuming Simone's appearance but Bennet orders her to stop. As they leave, Mr. Bennet tells Isaac to keep painting.



Jessica and Micah are playing a video game when Micah has to leave. Jessica tells him he doesn't need to go to school but he insists. After he leaves, Jessica talks to Niki in the mirror, saying she's a better mother than Nikki was. D.L. comes in with a photo of Nathan that he found on his pillow. Jessica says she doesn't know how it got there but D.L. wants to know what Linderman had her do with Nathan. Jessica lies and says that Linderman just wanted her to work as a card dealer at the casino. Satisfied for the moment, D.L. leaves and Jessica looks in the mirror, wondering if Niki left the photo there for D.L. to find.

Sylar recovers consciousness and Mohinder explains that he gave him curare so he couldn't control his abilities. Mohinder reveals he saw an article on Zane's death three days ago and uses a tuning fork to torture Sylar, saying he's a parasite that deserves to die. Sylar says that Mohinder and Chandra are both murderers, leading him to his victims. Mohinder says Chandra didn't know what Sylar was doing, but the killer insist that Chandra didn't want to hold up the progress he was making. Mohinder informs Sylar that Chandra identified him as Patient Zero, and prepares to painfully take a spinal fluid sample.

Hiro arrives at the museum and turns over the painting, and asks for a receipt. When the curator steps out, Hiro finds the sword but the curator returns and informs him there are hundreds of security guards ready to come in. The curator initiates lockdown and a security guard comes in. The guard knocks out the curator: it's Ando, who has been following Hiro. They barricade the doors as the guards try to come in.



Nathan informs the nearby FBI agents, holed up in a hotel room, via his wire that he will meet Mr. Linderman in an hour. Jessica comes into the room with a gun and tells them that Linderman knew they were there. She disarms them and then kills them.

Using Sylar's spinal fluid, Mohinder has found four separate genes responsible for special abilities and can cure at least some of the people on the list. Sylar claims he's a victim and wants frustration, but then loses his temple and screams that he wants the list so he can hunt down his victims. Now that he has what he needs, Mohinder shoots Sylar in the head… but Sylar stops the bullet telekinetically. He explains that he used his powers to stop the curare in the IV drip long enough to free himself, and now Mohinder will do something useful for him before he dies.

While going through some old sketches, Isaac finds a heroin stash. He shoots up and then starts painting the future.



Nathan goes to his hotel room to find Niki waiting for him. She rips off his wire and warns that he's in danger and have little time before Jessica returns. When Nathan explains he's working for the FBI, Niki explains that Jessica killed the FBI agents and Linderman knows that Nathan has betrayed him.

Mr. Bennet returns from his trip and runs the water so he and Sandra can talk privately. He claims that he can't find Claire, or Thompson and the Company will learn her location as well. He vows to stop the Company. The phone rings and Sandra answers it, saying that Mr. Bennet will be a problem. Thompson and his men arrive, and "Sandra" reveals that she's Candice using an illusionary disguise.

Hiro gets the sword and teleports out with Ando as the guards burst in. They arrive in the future atop the Deveaux Building. Construction crews are rebuilding the city and Hiro realizes that they didn't succeed, and won't succeed, in stopping the explosion.



Claire flies to New York and goes to Peter's apartment. Angela Petrelli is waiting for her… along with the Haitian. Angela explains that she's Claire's grandmother and is trying to protect her, but Claire is just as stubborn as her father.

Niki informs Nathan is using Jessica to kill his enemies and keep Nathan under control. Now Linderman is going to offer Nathan a deal. She suggests that Nathan could accept the deal or run, but Nathan refuses and suggests that he kill Linderman instead. Niki gives him Jessica's gun and tells him to knock her out so, and a confused Nathan goes along with her plan.

Linderman's people arrive and escort Nathan to the kitchen where Linderman is cooking a meal. Linderman wonders if Nathan is happy and Nathan admits that he has a few problems. Mr. Linderman warns that a man must choose between a life of meaning and a life of happiness, and it's not possible to choose both. Nathan draws the gun but Linderman is unconcerned, saying many people have tried to kill him. He explains that Nathan could kill him, but he knows about Nathan's and Peter's abilities and Peter's problems. He assures Nathan that he'll win the election and become President in two years. Nathan considers his words… and lowers the gun.



Peter goes to Mohinder's apartment but doesn't find anyone at first. However, a drop of blood lands on his head. He looks up to see a bleeding Mohinder telekinetically held to the ceiling. Mohinder mutters Sylar and Peter turns to see the killer. Sylar telekinetically holds Peter against the wall and notes how similar they are... and then starts to telekinetically slice open his head.
