Nathan sees a painting of Hiro (rescuing a schoolgirl in Japan) and admits that he knows him. Linderman knows about Hiro and wants the katana back. He then talks about an earlier group of humans with special abilities who worked to improve the world until their associates turned against them out of greed. Linderman believes that now an explosion is necessary to trigger a healing for the whole world. Nathan balks at the massive death toll involved, but Linderman notes that only .07% of the world's population will die and believes that's an acceptable loss. In New York at Mohinder's apartment, Sylar starts telekinetically slicing into Peter's head but the wound heals automatically. Sylar is distracted and Peter uses his borrowed telekinesis to smash Sylar away. Peter turns invisible to escape but Sylar telekinetically hurls glass across the room. Peter fades back into view, a shard sticking out of the back of his head. Mohinder smashes Sylar over the head and tries to revive Peter without success.

At Angela's home, Claire is looking at a photo of Nathan and Peter while Angela explains they didn't know about Claire. She and her husband took steps to protect Claire and didn't tell Nathan that Claire survived the fire. She says that Claire should go to Paris until she becomes an adult and can make her own choices. Claire wonders if Angela also has powers but her newfound grandmother ducks the question.

Sylar wakes up and finds that Mohinder has escaped with Peter. Chandra's laptop is ruined and the list is missing. However, he finds a scrap of 9th Wonders! comic book with Isaac's address on it.

Isaac gives the artwork for the new issue of 9th Wonders! to a courier, saying it will be his last. He shows the courier a page with Hiro on the Deveaux Building five years in the future and says it will be his last issue. He gives the courier his sketchbook as a gift and then looks at the painting foretelling his own death.

In Las Vegas, D.L. is preparing to leave, insisting that Jessica enjoys all the violence she's involved in. Jessica claims that she's only doing what she has to, to protect Micah. One of Linderman's men arrives and says he wants to see Jessica. D.L. tells her she needs to protect Micah from her new life, and he'll be leaving that night.

Bennet continues to telepathically guide Matt. Matt overhears Thompson talking about a plan to move Matt and Bennet, along with Ted Sprague. Bennet has Matt rescue Ted while Thompson discovers Matt's unconscious guard and sounds the alarm.

Later, Peter and Nathan talk and Nathan wonders if Peter can survive the prophesied explosion. Peter is concerned about Claire and believes she needs to stay there rather than go to Paris. When Angela comes in, Peter tries to explain about his powers but Angela tells him she's known about them since before Peter discovered then.

Matt, Ted, and Bennet stop in Midland, TX, at the Burnt Toast Diner. Bennet assures them the Company won't come after them in a public place, but they need to destroy the Company's tracking system in New York. Matt mentions Linderman, surprising Bennet who never knew who the head of the Company was. Bennet admits that Linderman is in Las Vegas but New York and the tracking system are the key.

Jessica has picked Micah up early from school, explaining that he needs to meet with Linderman. Linderman arrives in a limo and asks the boy if he'd like to save the world. Micah agrees and as they leave, "Jessica" reverts to Candice. Jessica pulls up, unaware of what has happened.

Mohinder goes back to his apartment and calls in Thompson, explaining what happens. Thompson says that Bennet will no longer be working with them but they need to join forces to stop Sylar.

Isaac finishes a painting of Sylar and snaps out of his trance to find Sylar there. The artist has known all along that Sylar would come for him from his visions, and tells Sylar that he's seen him defeated. Sylar telekinetically pins Isaac to the floor with brushes through the wrists and ankles, then demands to see the paintings. Isaac refuses, saying he's sent them away, and he's played his role by showing the others how to stop Sylar.

At Angela's house, Nathan receives a delivery: the painting of himself in the White House. Claire comes in and he tells her that they'll have to wait until after the election to get closer to each other. He tells her that it's best that she go to Paris with Angela until after the election.

At Isaac's loft, Sylar is using his newly acquired power to paint a picture of himself in the White House. Isaac is dead, his skull cut open and a gun nearby.

Five years in the future, Hiro and Ando are atop the Deveaux Building, looking out at the devastated landscape. Ando wants Hiro to take them back to the present but he says they have to stay in the future and find out what went wrong so they can fix it. Hiro suggests they talk to Isaac, who may be alive since Sylar was captured. They go to Isaac's loft and find a huge collection of photos, clippings, and notes hung from the ceiling by strings. They are all tied together, and Hiro concludes that someone is trying to chart the timeline. They hear a noise and Hiro draws the katana, turns, and confronts... his future incarnation.
