Matt and Mohinder try and take care of the comatose Molly, but Mohinder warns that no hospital can take care of her and only the man responsible, Matt’s father, can bring her out of the coma.
Office Landry interviews Monica about the robbery at the restaurant and indicates that the suspect is a gang banger with multiple offenses. Monica refuses to testify against him and the cop leaves, disgusted that she won’t act as a witness.
Peter and Caitlin are at the pub and as they close the place, they kiss. Caitlin changes her mind and tells Peter he should find out more about his past, but he’s reluctant to do so.
A blonde woman is at the docks and talks to Will, asking about the container. The woman mentions working for a company, and as she walks away she drags her fingers across a metal container, raising electrical sparks.
Matt goes to see Nathan and Angela, thinking she has the answers to the reason for Molly’s coma. When Nathan tries to stop him, Matt explains that his father Maury is responsible. Nathan agrees to help by going with Matt to Maury’s address and doing what they can to stop him.
Ricky comes into the bar and talks to Peter in private, saying that a blonde American girl is asking questions about him. He tells Peter to get Caitlin away while he deals with the girl if she comes to the bar.
Monica and her friend Camille talk about the holdup and Monica admits she has no idea how she did the karate that she used against the gang banger. She does remember watching someone with the same moves on TV, and that she seemed to just instinctively do it.
Matt and Nathan arrive at Maury’s apartment and they break in. Maury is there, armed, and recognizes Matt as his son. Matt disarms and handcuffs him, and Maury explains that he thought they were the killers who disposed of the other Company personnel in the photo. Maury also received a photo with a death threat mark on it. When Maury sensed Molly looking for him, he thought she was with the killers and protected himself by driving her into a coma. When Matt tries to read Maury’s mind, his father is impressed but blocks him. He offers to explain what’s going on and leads Matt into another room then shuts the door. Suspicious, Nathan busts in only to find himself on a rooftop overlooking a devastated New York City. Meanwhile, Matt finds himself in a prison room without his father. Maury comes out of the room, chuckles, and leaves.
Micah is at home playing the piano, much to Nana’s delight. After she leaves, Monica talks to Micah and sits down next to him. They talk briefly about Niki and then Monica starts instinctively playing the exact same piano piece that Micah is. She gets up and moves away, startled.
Mohinder talks to Noah by cell phone and explains Molly’s condition. He wants to take her to the Company but Noah warns against it. Mohinder disregards him and hangs up. Noah is in Odessa, Ukraine with the Haitian.
Ando meets with the technician Tatsuya Atsumi, who helps bring out the faded characters on the scrolls. The scroll tells of how Kiro helped Kensei, finding a fragment of the tapestry that shows where Whitebeard’s camp is so that they can rescue Yaeko’s father.
Monica is cutting tomatoes, and making more roses out of them, when Micah demonstrates his own power, turning a TV on and off, and explains that it must run in the family since his mother and father also have powers. He then shows her the
9th Wonders! comic with St. Joan, who has the same muscle mimicry powers that Monica does, and suggests they test Monica’s abilities.
Mohinder has brought Molly in to a Company facility and meets with Bob Bishop. Bob reassures Mohinder he’s done the right thing, and then gives him an assignment: to subdue a Hero who isn’t in control of her powers. Niki bursts in and attacks Bob, and Mohinder is forced to use a tazer to take her out.
Micah takes Monica to a park where they watch some girls jumping rope. Monica watches them for a minute, then jumps in and matches every move they make.
Peter and Caitlin to back to her house and he admires her paintings. He goes over the contents of the box: a passport with his name, money, a plane ticket to Montreal, and a photo of his brother. His eyes then go white and he picks up a brush and starts instinctively painting.
Elle comes into the pub and asks about Peter, but Ricky denies knowing anything. She doesn’t believe him and welds the doors shut, then throws a lightning bolt at him.
Bob tells a confined Niki that he’ll try to help her. After he leaves, Mohinder tries to free her but Niki tells him not to, saying that she’s here voluntarily so that she can get help for her condition.
Trapped in Maury’s mindscape, Nathan finds Peter covered in ash, but it turns into himself, burned by radiation.
Matt, in his personal mindscape, hears a baby crying and then is confronted by his ex-wife Janice holding their child. Each of them ends up struggling with figures in their personal visions, but it becomes clear they’re both unwittingly fighting each other. Matt catches on by picking up Nathan’s thoughts and manages to break them both out of the trap by projecting a thought at Nathan. They search Maury’s apartment and find a photo of Bob with the death threat mark on it, and realize who his next target is.
Ando continues to read the scrolls telling of Kensei’s quest to defeat Whitebeard and his huge army, but the readable part cuts off and Tatsuya says he’ll need to time to recover the rest.
Monica is at home watching Bruce Lee movies and talking to Micah about what it all means. He just thinks they’re special and leaves. After he’s gone, Monica answers a knock at the door and finds… Mohinder, who promises to answer her questions.
Elle is outside the pub and gets a call. She’s ordered to come home despite the fact she hasn’t found Peter, and apologizes to her father at the other end.
Peter finishes the painting and snaps out of his vision trance. He’s painted a building with a street sign identifying it as in Montreal. They get a call from Tuko and head back to the pub, where they find Ricky dead. Peter realizes that whoever is after him killed Ricky, and he’ll have to deal with it.
