Episode discussion for: 04x08 | Once Upon a Time in Texas (Nov 02, 2009)
SWEET EPISODE. Charlie's reaction to Hiro saving her was dead on.
I'm still not entirely sure how Hiro saving Charlie doesn't have massive rippling effects on the timeline. Maybe we'll see some of that in the next episodes.
I was wondering what happened to Mohinder... just really adding up to my Samuel is kind of a prick point of view, though. |

really the worst ep of this season so far imo... hiro is just annoying with not thinking anything through and just jumping through time like an idiot.
and now the other annoying guy is gonna get more time too - mohinder. i really hoped he wud stay away and his disappearance wud just be explained in a sentence but nooooo, like always they have to bring everyone back even if they suck.
a lot of my friends who watch(ed) heroes too always tell me "cmon the show is really sucky now" and i reply "No! mohinder is gone, hiro is hopefully gonna die soon, and it doesnt seem like they drag the whole sylar-memory thing on too long" now sylar is still not back, hiro possibly will somehow manage and mohinder comes back...
arent there some more crappy characters they wanna revive?
sry but i just had to get it off my chest! |

In the original timeline, Charlie died and had no further effects on the timeline.
In the new timeline, Charlie disappeared at practically the same time and had no further effects on the timeline. She'll probably be presumed dead.
Although they keep talking about butterflies, and referring to Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder," clearly there's a form of temporal inertia at work that prevents minor changes from escalating into major reality-altering ones. Hiro getting his sister and Ando together didn't change anything either, although you think Ando would have better things to do than traipsing around the globe in season 3 and getting his own powers. If Bradbury was writing the story, they'd have dinosaurs for children and doughnuts raining from the sky.

I'd sit through one more story with Mohinder, if it's the one that shows him dying. Which may be the case here. |

Really? I thought "Acceptance" was the biggest snorefest so far this season. Seeing the side of Noah that isn't all bag-and-tag was kind of a nice change. Plus, even though I don't care much for Mohinder, he's been so invested in the show, I'd be pissed if they just said he died.

Eh... maybe. But that also implies that Sylar never really used her power, like, ever, which I have trouble believing, knowing him. I don't really remember, though, so I reckon it's possible. |

Sylar used Charlie's power to read and master truck driving in one of the graphic stories, "Road Kill". That's about it. |

I see. It occurs to me he probably found greater use for it in the "explosion future" episodes where he was President while impersonating Nathan, but, well, that was prevented.
Speaking of which, I miss the episodes based in the future. |
