I recently watched 17 episodes of this in two sessions. I wasn't very interested to start to watch this, there just wasn't anything else available for me (plus I'm having a flu). What I was interested was why this show has become so highly rated. I still don't know. Some of the special effects are quite impressive, so that could be one factor to high ratings. Without spoiling too much, it's about people who start to find superpowers in them and then try to deal with that fact. Then there are people after these superpeople, some are good, some are not. The whole show is rather silly, imo. It's really like Marvel comics were brought on-screen, take X-men or The Fantastic Four. Even Stan Lee appeared as bus driver in episode 16. Many of the classic superpowers and abilities are present plus some bit more unexpected ones. And there are some inconsistencies regarding the use of these powers... There are also some gruesome scenes and gore present so this series is not suitable for children or those sensitive to violence, imo. So with that fact I can only conclude this series is targeted at adults who like or liked to read comics (about superheroes).
