Angry after finding out about Sacha's knowledge of Daniel's hole in the heart condition, Chrissie leaves the hospital and accepts a lift from Michael Spence and they end up back at his flat.

Hanssen is finding it hard to cope with the fallout from last week's interview as the media descends on the hospital. A patient is admitted to the hospital who has spoken to the press about his treatment at the hands of the NHS and the surgical director is determined to silence the critics. Elliot is shocked by Tara's treatment of a patient who is refusing life-saving surgery.

Eddi is back working on AAU and determined to prove she can cope. After a patient case is too close to home and the pressures of a demanding ward begin to take their toll, Luc’s worst fears look like coming true. Elliot feels disillusioned after his artificial heart project, ten years in the making, has a last minute set back.

New CT1 Lilah Birdwood causes ripples in the AAU as Michael and Serena battle it out to try and gain her respect. After Jac is ordered by Hanssen to treat a Board Member’s daughter, she discovers more than she wanted to. It’s Chantelle’s first day as Staff Nurse and she is the envy of Marie-Clare.

Hanssen is under pressure and after the son of his very first patient at Holby is admitted, he fights to save him and his own career. After he takes a mysterious call, it seems as if events at the hospital are all that define his decisions today. Jonny is caught in the middle of Mo and Jac over a difficult patient case. Sacha wants to have one more shot at attempting to become Consultant, but he ends up with more than he bargained for after Michael gives him his patient list.

Ric finds himself being caught between his patient and the future of the hospital as Serena gets ready to take over the running of the hospital in Hanssen’s absence. Jonny is without his sidekick after he and Mo had an argument last week. Michael’s day begins badly with the news that his children aren’t coming home until Christmas and things end up getting worse.

With the new CEO Imelda Cousins due to start work , Ric becomes determined to keep control of his ward. After Lilah attempts to run before she can walk, he finds himself in the firing line. After a difficult patient comes in, Jac attempts to get closer to Jonny through the case. Luc is forced to come out of his lab after the new CEO demands that he returns to ward duties.

Imelda ends up taking a shine to Jac and enjoys the fact that she helped cast doubt over Hanssen’s suitability for the job. Jac wants to impress her, but ends up getting drawn into a complicated teen pregnancy case. It’s assessment day for new CT1 doctor Lilah. Serena hopes that today will be her last shift on AAU, and is even more happy after she learns that she’s worked with Imelda before.

Hertzig patient, Aisha, is readmitted to the hospital and Elliot attempts to do everything that he can to save her, but it’s not enough. Tara is really affected by her death and after Ollie confronts her about her overreaction to Aisha’s death, she knows it’s time to be honest about her brain tumour or risk losing Ollie forever. After Ric fails Lilah on an assessment, she wonders if the events of the previous week had anything to do with it.

The atmosphere between Ric and Lilah is strained and after Imelda becomes involved, she only ends up antagonising an already fragile situation. Mo’s boyfriend Albie takes his dying wife to the hospital for treatment. Jonny believes that she shouldn’t get involved but will she listen to him? After a patient towing a yacht shows up on AAU, Chrissie finds herself day dreaming about a Caribbean island Christmas.

Ollie returns to the hospital, having spent time away attempting to research Tara’s condition. Michael is paying extra attention to his romance with HCA, Ramona. Chantelle still has no clue where she stands with Rhys.

A Vegas-bound Ric shows up at the hospital and reveals that he has got a new job in the Pharma-industry. After his expertise is needed on an emergency patient, Ric finds himself being drawn in. Jac finds herself involved in a family crisis as Jonny desperately wants to appeal to her better nature.

As Luc discovers a breakthrough in his research, a patient’s tattoo becomes the gateway to a darker side of him. Sacha attempts to help his friend before it is too late. Lilah is back at work and is surprised to learn that Ric has not resigned. Ollie is worried that Tara’s reveal the previous week has forced her back into her shell.

Jac ends up travelling to Sweden to try and find Hanssen. After she finds out the reason behind Hanssen’s actions, she has to decide whether to follow through with Serena’s instructions or to side with Hanssen. Luc is put on a short leash by Michael following the events of the previous week. Luc is still be haunted by events from the past and despite Michael and Sacha’s best efforts, it looks like he will go off the rails.

Things have never been better between Jac and Jonny for a long time, but after she finds out that the former ‘love of her life’ is getting married, she is thrown and jeopardises everything that is important to her. Serena is running Holby like clockwork but comes under threat from a competitor. After Chrissie discovers a lump, she is afraid for her health and is scared to confide in Sacha.

Jac is feeling guilty after the events of the previous night and wants to put it all behind her. Arthur Digby shows up for his first day on Keller and fails to make a good first impression. Michael is surprised after he finds out about his new F1, Gemma Wilde’s extra-curricular activities.

Malick finds it hard to deal with the arrival of Jake, the son he never knew he had. Ric ends up being forced to give the registrar an ultimatum. Elliot's efforts to help a rebellious medical student don't go to plan.

After a child with some unexplained injuries is brought into AAU, Michael and Chrissie can’t help but think the parents are responsible, while Gemma and Sacha are more sympathetic. Ollie’s fed up with splitting his life between two homes and suggests he move in with Tara.

The previous week's child protection case returns to haunt Michael, after Mandy Fairlock is admitted on to the ward, following an arson attack on her home.

Serena’s mother’s operation is finally scheduled and she is determined that everything will go to plan. Gemma is determined to prove that she is ready to be back at work. Mo turns to Jonny to cheer her up when she is in a bad mood but after he lets her down, she finds herself a new friend in Sacha.

After a face from Malick’s past shows up on the ward, he attempts to keep it under wraps. After his emotions are caught up in the way he is treating the patient, Ric has to intervene. Jonny is getting ready for Jac’s return but is thrown after she comes back early.

Jac wants to make up for her mistake and prove to Hanssen that her new surgical procedure is worth funding. Malick has no choice but to tell Jake that Anna is dying, and after he takes the news badly, the registrar realises that he needs to be the father the boy never had. Gemma takes her son to work after he is too sick for school and attempts to keep him hidden.

Jac receives a diagnosis on her condition and finds it hard to get through the day. After it looks like her professional life is back on track, Jac's personal life falters as she and Jonny reach breaking point. Malick returns to the hospital on the day of Anna's funeral. Chrissie receives her breast cancer results, leaving Sacha upset she didn't open up to him.

Tara is given the opportunity to assist in theatre. Chrissie's step daughter unexpectedly may save the day with her marriage to Sacha. Chantelle asks Arthur to keep her birthday a secret, instead however the team throw her a surprise party - confusing Arthur in the process.

Tara arrives at Holby and refuses to believe her career is actually over, but she is slowly forced to face the fact that she can no longer run away from her deteriorating health.
Meanwhile, When an undercover journalist being treated by Serena, threatens to expose the legal action she is taking against the hospital, Serena is forced to question her own actions as she comes to realise how easily mistakes can be made when you're under pressure.

When Malick is presented with the opportunity of a lifetime, he struggles on whether to leave Holby for good, or stay with the son that he barely knows. A mysterious figure from Gemma's past shows up, and it seems like her problems will always catch up with her. Ollie is worried that Tara is not thinking straight concerning her upcoming operation.

Tara's family gather to support her during her operation, but will they be able to hold it together? Malick tries to decide if he can 'come out' to his son Jake, now that he is set to play a bigger part in his life.
Gemma is drawn into a tricky case involving a child and his teacher, and wonders whether she has made the right decision regarding her future.

The hospital finds itself under the microscope as Amanda Layton's case is heard in the coroner's court. Malick's personal and professional lives are put in jeopardy. Gemma has a run in with a difficult patient and also has problems at home. She ends up being forced to seek help from an unlikely area.

Sacha doesn't feel like celebrating his birthday, due to waiting for the results of Daniel's tests as a compatible donor, while Chrissie wonders if she can actually go ahead with the procedure if he is a match.

Elliot attempts to protect Ollie after his mistakes start to threaten the entire ward. After a heart patient is re-admitted, Ollie insists on conducting the treatment alone, forcing him to confront his emotions. Daniel is a perfect match for Rachel's bone-marrow transplant, but Chrissie is scared at the prospect of putting her son through such a risky procedure.

Ollie reaches breaking point but insists he is still fit enough to work. Gemma is forced to step in after his erratic behaviour endangers a patient's life.
