• Police spin-off planned for Holby.

The BBC is planning a new police drama linked to Holby City, its popular long-running medical series.
Tony Jordan, an EastEnders writer since 1985, has been recruited to work on scripts for the programme, which is likely to be launched next year.
He is also tasked with working out how storylines between the police station and the hospital could be intertwined.
A BBC spokeswoman confirmed the series was being considered for a pre-watershed slot on BBC One.
