Jac clashes with with Robert and Lucy. Maria stands up to Connie. Joseph ponders making changes to keep Faye interested in him.

Elliot has second thoughts about the pioneering heart operation and Joseph is forced to step in. At the last moment though Elliott realises that he should perform the operation. Donna is forced to say a sad farewell to her father when the decision is made to turn off his life support machine. Chrissie receives an e-mail that Oliver meant to send to Penny.
Lucy is allowed to go home following the success of Elliot and Tara's operation. Tara's contract is extends by Jayne and they work together on a case. After Elliot tells her the truth about his wife's death, Tara considers her future at the hospital. Mark thinks that Chrissie is too old for Oliver. Connie is determined to become the new director of surgery. When she ignores Ric's instructions and operates on a patient he ends up dying of complications caused by the surgery.
Ric finds it hard to contain the press attention and has to decide if he want to be Director of Surgery or just a doctor. Joseph's paranoia about Faye continues.
Connie wants the director of surgery job and is surprised when Jayne uses the affair with John against her. Jayne is able to persuade the board to give the job to Michael before resigning and leaving the hospital. Maria lets Donna down on her return to work. Maria ends up being hit by a car outside the hospital. Joseph finds out that Faye called Linden on the day of the wedding.
Following Maria's accident, Ric tries to save her life. Ric isn't happy when he finds out that Michael is the new director of surgery but they are forced to work together to help Maria.
Chrissie celebrates her birthday and Oliver invites her out for a drink. Chrissie finds out that she is pregnant and decides to have dinner with her father instead of going out with Oliver. A fracture is discovered in Maria's spine. When Maria wakes up she has no feeling in the lower part of her body.
Michael is not happy when Connie undermines him. Connie is given the green light for her robotic surgery project. Donna tries to lift Maria's spirits and tries to get her to make friends with another patient on the ward.
Faye attempts to win over Joseph but when Archie becomes sick and is admitted to the hospital she finds her priorities changing. Linden is confronted by Joseph about the kiss he shared with Faye on their wedding day. Elliot manages to save Archie's life. Maria learns that she could be paralysed for life and that her only chance is an operation which could cost her everything.
When Mark see Oliver flirting with Daisha he is not happy. Oliver learns that Chrissie is going to have his baby but she ends up miscarrying the baby. Ric and Henry Miller operate on Maria. Penny is given the chance by Connie to impress her but she ends up getting side tracked by Elliot.
Maria is determined to stay positive about her future. Connie attempts to impress Vanessa Lytton, the new CEO on her first day at work but she finds it hard to deal with a crisis on the ward. Mark tries to find a new man for Chrissie to date and she thinks he should get a date too.
Faye finds it hard to cope after Archie's condition gets worse. Lauren the nurse who is looking after him makes a big mistake when she administers his medication. Vanessa is introduced to the team by Michael and he lays out his plans for the future. Mark wonders if the wards need a matron but he is soon won over. Judith begins to wonder if Mark is needed though.
Vanessa suspects foul play after Archie suddenly dies. Connie, Ric and Faye are dismissed from the hospital so that there can be a full police inquiry. Mark is able to get Chantelle to confess to Maddy's murder.
Donna finds herself having to deal with Derek's meagre effects and sets off on a trip that ends with her having to confront some serious responsibilities. Joseph is determined to get to the bottom of Faye's suspension and he ends up confronting Lauren. Judith ends up realising that Mark is really needed at the hospital after he saves the day.
Elliot finds it hard to run the ward without Connie. Penny discovers that he is suffering with angina. Vanessa appoints a new locum registrar. Joseph, Faye and Faye's mother attend Archie's funeral. Judith is given bad news about her divorce settlement. Maria returns to work.
Linden's daughter, Holly, comes back into his life after her grandparents learn that she plans to leave college and move out. Jac manages to earn Oliver's respect. Penny decides to avoid Thandie and act on Elliot's advise.
Joseph leaves Thandie and Elliot to look after the ward as he attempts to get his hands on Archie's notes. Chrissie clashes with Judith after finding out that put Mark's job under threat. Oliver realises that he has to accept help something.
Penny's plan to impress Elliot doesn't go the way she hoped. Oliver spots something crucial that Jac has missed when he works on a case with her.
Joseph is determined to prove to both Vanessa and the police that potassium killed Archie. Elliot finds himself loosing confidence in Joseph. When Judith tries to improve the relationship between herself and Chrissie she ends up making thinks worse.
After Joseph accuses Lauren of being responsible for Archie's death he is accused of bullying of her by Vanessa and is threatened with a suspension. After he tells his theory that Archie died after being given potassium, it soon becomes clear that Lauren could be responsible after all. Vanessa manages to disappoint Michael.
Mark offers Judith his support after her teenage son is admitted to the hospital with alcohol poisoning. Elliot accuses Penny of being too close to Scott. Maria attempts to impress Daisha.
Linden and Holly makes plans for Christmas at home together. Their plans are ruined though when Linden's past memories come back to haunt him after Holly gives him a present. Linden tries to deal with not being able to have saved his wife's life. Before shes leaves for the Philippines, Dais ha gets cosy with Oliver. Chrissie announces that she is expecting a baby.
Lauren attempt to avoid Joseph. Lauren ends up confessing all to Thandie who then tells Joseph. Lauren ends up being arrested. After helping Jac with an operation, Oliver kisses her. Donna is determined to get somebody to kiss her before the New Year.
Faye throws herself into her work to try and forget about the grief she is feeling. Being back at work though only intensifies her desire for answers. Despite Joesph's misgivings Faye talks to Lauren who later ends up being admitted as a patient. Ric returns to work following his suspension. Sacha Levy works out that the baby Chrissie is carrying could be his.
Lauren receives a visit from her mother. In the relatives room Sandra tells the whole story from her daughter's respective. Faye realises she needs to stop blaming Lauren for what happened and release the anger she feels. The board decide not to renew Judith's contract when they need a scapegoat. Oliver tries to stop Daisha from seeing pictures of his dalliance with Jac after they are posted around the hospital.
Linden tries to be friends with Faye again and help deal with her loss. When Faye has to deal with the death of a young child whilst at work she finds it difficult. Thandie hopes to be reunited with Ric but when she mishandles a case at work that no longer seems possible. Maria finds the going tough when she has to run the ward and comes to a few realizations.
Donna finds herself having to make some difficult decisions about the welfare of her young niece. Jac finds herself being to pleasant to Joseph for a change. Chrissie thinks that the new locum George is too good to be true.
Ric nearly loses a patient in his determination to push Thandie out of the hospital and he then starts to realise that he has been too hard on her. Penny finds herself in a difficult position when she tries to help the partner of a coma patient. Holly causes problems for Faye.
Penny admits that she had been seeing Scott but denies mishandling the case on the day he is due to have his heart surgery. Penny finds herself having to choose between a relationship with Scott and her career. Jac is determined to prove to Michael that she is the right person for the consultants job. When Oliver lets Jac down she ends up blowing her top at Penny. Dalisha finds out about Oliver and Jac's fling.
Elliot tries to help Charlie who has had a heart attack and is now on the ward recovering. Thandie is determined to make the Home Office believe that she and Ric are a real couple. Nicky tries to prove himself to Maria.
Michael attempts to convince Connie to leave her new job and return to Holby. Penny ends up questioning her career when she receives an offer from Scott. Consultant Geddes turns out to be worse than feared when he starts work at the hospital.
Thandie's brother shows up and asks her to help him to die as he only has a few days left to live. After agreeing she realises her marriage to Ric has no chance of surviving and she decides to leave Holby for good. Maria asks George to meet her parents over lunch but he says he is too busy. George ends up admitting to Nikki that he is bisexual. Maria decides to cool things off with George. Joseph asks Faye to go a trip with him but she turns down his offer. When she realises she has upset him she tries to make it up to him but when he tries to kiss her she pulls away.
Linden comforts Fay after she has fight with Joseph and he storms out of the hospital. The team learn there is a hostage situation in the city and that victims will be brought into the hospital. As Linden and Faye wok together to help the victims and end up sharing a kiss. When Fay sees Joseph's tie on one of the victims she fears the worse. Joseph shows up and reveals that Daisha has been shot. Elliot finds it impossible to work with Toby. Penny and Oliver attempt to impress Elliot and Linden by helping during the emergency.
Joseph appears to self-destruct after he and Daisha find themselves involved in a shoot out. Daisha ends up being fatally wounded. Will Daisha survive this? The team struggle to deal with two major incidents. Michael tells Vanessa that she must remove Toby Geddes or they will lose both Elliot and Jac. As Daisha's life hangs in the balance, Ollie finds it hard to cope.
Joseph works out that something is going on between Faye and Linden and he ends up attacking Linden. Mark finds his loyalty torn between Daisha and Judith and in the process loses both of them. Chrissie isn't too happy when she finds out that Sacha is back at the hospital.
After Daisha says goodbye, Mark has to deal with a difficult shift. After Maria is sent home by Vanessa because of her back injury, Mark decides to try and get her some compensation. Faye and Elliot work out that Linden's injuries were caused by Joseph. After he begins to doubt Faye, Linden decides to end their relationship.
Jac hides the fact from the rest of the team that a new patient at the hospital is her mother. Jac has to break the news to her mother that she is going to need a new kidney. After arriving late for a session, Oliver is determined to impress both Connie and Elliot. New nurse, Roberta tells him a few home truths after he passes Penny's research off as his own. Mark decides to with the claim for compensation for Maria when he learns it could cost her career. Mark resigns after becoming fed up with Vanessa's interference.
After Michael finds out about Mark's resignation he accepts that Vanessa needs to go. His plan doesn't go to plan though when Vanessa makes him look stupid in a board meeting before she leaves the hospital. Joseph apologises to Linden and lets Faye move back into their flat in an effort to sort things out. Not everything goes to plan though and he ends up in somebody elses arms.
Jac attempts to remain unaffected by her mother's situation. After her condition deteriorates though Jac is forced to admit to Michael and Joseph that she's the mother who left her. Jac ends up offering her mother a new kidney. After Chrissie goes into early labour she has to have an emergency C-section. Mark finally learns that Sacha is the father of the baby.
Chrissie finds it hard to embrace Sacha's family especially when his mother, Esther starts talking about wedding. Chrissie ends up telling Sacha they wont be a family but he will always be a father to the baby. Michael, Ric and Joseph battle to save Paula’ when the operation for the kidney transplant hits some problems. After Paula pulls through, Jac celebrates her birthday with her mother for the first time in many years. Michael isn’t happy when Cunningham says he wants him to share the Director of Surgery responsibilities with Connie. Michael attempts to convince him to let him job share with Ric instead.
Paula goes missing whilst Jac is caring for her at home. When Jac finds her she also meets also her grandfather and half-sister too. Jac realizes she has been conned by her mother and vows to move forward with her life without her family in it. When Faye finds out she is pregnant she has to decide whether to tell Linden or not.
The porters have gone on strike and the hospital has come to a halt. Cunningham is impressed after Mark manages to sort the problem out single handily and he later suggests that Mark should consider applying for the CEO post at the hospital. Connie finds out about Ric and Michael's director of surgery job-share and she tries to get involved with Joseph's research project. Michael realises he has to let Ric in if he is to save his marriage.
Mark still wont apply for the CEO position because he is not happy with the politics involved. When he discovers a patient whose quality of life could be enhanced significantly by new laser treatment he has a change of heart about applying for the position. After Oliver gains a promotion things go wrong. Penny is moved back to AAU after it comes out that she slept with a patient. Maria has to cope on her own when Donna disappears for the whole day.
The hospital finds itself full of patients following a flash flood in the south west of the country. The basement is is danger of flooding. As Connie and Joseph operate on Elaine the back-up generator fails.
Mark finds himsef in demand when everyone turns to him for advice on the emergency flood situation. Donna and Maria are stuck in a lift with a critical patient following the power cut. Connie finds her patient going into crisis in theatre. A visiting doctor supports Penny.
Mark learns that he has got the CEO job and informs the staff that he will be helping out with day-to-day duties as it is his last day. Connie feels guilty after Elaine is diagnosed with brain damage. Donna is determined to prove herself in her new position.
Greg Douglas, the new registrar arrives on Darwin Ward much to Elliot's surprise. When Greg's thinks that paediatrics patient Ben could have his life-saving operation in America with out having to wait it makes Elliot question him. Linden finds out that Faye is pregnant and she tells him she isn't sure who the father of the baby is. Linden offers to stick by her but she still has to tell Joseph.
Greg and Joseph have to retrieve a heart for a transplant but when they arrive at the hospital it quickly becomes apparent that everything is not well. After Elaine dies, Connie attempts to make peace with Kevin but she believes he is out for revenge. After Kevin ends up rescuing her from an attack by an ex-patient's relative Connie's hopes of them sorting out their problems are dashed by Kevin's subsequent character assassination of her. Connie ends up turning to Greg for some support.
Faye discovers that the baby she is expecting is a boy and finds herself caught between Joseph and Linden's opposing views on a Chorionic Villus Sampling test.
Michael is determined to keep his marriage break-up a secret and he throws himself into his work in an effort to forget about it. After he becomes frustrated with a tricky patient he ends taking his irritation out on Elizabeth and Donna. After he looses a patient in theatre, Michel ends up hitting rock bottom. Elliot is determined to raise the remaining funds that are needed to treat Ben.
A complaint is given to Mark about Sacha making inappropriate comments about a patient. After checking up on Sacha's past he discovers he was accused of sexual harassment at the last hospital he worked at. After Mark confronts Sacha, he complains to Michael that Mark has abused his power. Mark remains suspicious about Sacha even after all the charges are dropped. Elliot works out that he has been scammed by Maggie when the laser fails to show up and is then forced to perform a laser-less interim procedure on Ben.
Elliot is finally able to perform Ben's life-saving laser surgery. It is revealed that Elliot paid for the laser himself with the proceeds from his house after the truth about him being scammed by Maggie is revealed. Mark reports the crime after Elliot refuses to call the police. Linden attempts to stop his personal issues with Joseph from affecting his work. Sacha and Jac compete against one another to get a rise out of Elizabeth but Jac takes the joke a step too far.
Kate, a Trust member with the task of allocating funds left in a will, is shown around the hospital by Ric. Ric comes up with the idea of the funds be invested in the NHS rather than Holbycare. Michael isn't happy when he realises that Ric is getting the better of him both professionally and personally sand he ends up announcing on the ward that he and Annalese are finished and that he's having dinner with Kate. Elliot doesn't like all of the attention that his OBE has received.
Linden is fed up with Joseph and his constant involvement with Faye and the baby. Joseph decides that he wants to be present at the birth which results in Linden announcing that he and Faye are moving to Scotland. When questioned by Faye, Linden admits to her he doesn't know how much longer he can go on with things as they are at the moment.Kate turns turn Michael offer to be his date for a charity event and their affair comes to an end. After Michael defends her, Connie ends up agreeing to go with him.
Ric is concerned about some test results and ends up clashing with Michael over the Moyles Fund. The continued sexual tension between Greg and Connie interferes with their care of some patients. Faye ends up alienating Linden by pushing Joseph for a divorce.
With the battle for funds reaching new levels, Michael and Ric both must pitch their ideas to the board. After Ric runs into Annalese their connection becomes more conspicuous by the minute. Greg who is suffering with a hangover has to teach Oliver all day much to Connie's amusement. Penny is pleased to be made the unofficial boss on the Acute Assessment Unit, but her happiness soon wains when she and Frieda encounter disturbed patient.
Greg attempts to make Connie see that they need to be discreet about their relationship. Connie ends up teasing him though in front of a visiting American surgeon. Michael's continued resentment of Annalese ends up seeing him have a night of hard drinking. Linden is not happy when he learns who has been named as the third party responsible for breaking up Faye's marriage.
Ric realises that Michael's break-up with Annalese has hit him hard, after witnessing his increasingly chaotic behaviour. Ric decides to end things with Annalese. Michael continues to feel down. Oliver ends up standing up to Greg over a patient and ends up making a bad error of judgment. Oliver ends up managing to gain Greg's respect though.
Michael learns from Annalese that she has been seeing Ric following their separation. When Michael confronts Ric about the affair he ends up getting a surprise. Penny begins to have doubts about her career choice during her first day as an F2.
Ric ends up resigning from the board and he tells Annalese that she should stay with Michael. Ric finds his life ending up in Michael's hands. Oliver's attempts to please Greg leave him overestimating his abilities.
Frieda is riled by Penny who sucks up to a lazy and arrogant locum called Glyn. When Penny sees Frieda performing a procedure that only a doctor could do she ends up realising that Frieda is a trained doctor. Lady Byrne offers moral support to Joseph as Faye prepares to receive the Lowes test results. The results come back as being negative. After Lady Byrne reveals that she's been making plans for the baby, Faye informs her and Joseph that she wants nothing from either of them.
Jac is made acting consultant on Keller ward but ends up clashing with Ric over a difficult patient. Greg finds out that Oliver has been telling tales to Connie, blaming him for Oliver's botched procedure. Greg comes up with a way to get even with Oliver though.
Linden returns from his religious retreat and he ends up avoiding Faye. Instead he finds himself turning his attention to a young doctor's development. Jac attempts to sort out her problems with her Keller team-mates after losing their trust over the way she treated Ric.
Annalese wants Ric to come stay with her while he is having his chemotherapy. Michael finds it hard to contain his growing frustration after Connie steps on his toes at work. Joseph worries that he is becoming a doormat again after Connie hands over a case to Greg instead of him. Joseph's plan to assert himself doesn't go the way he hoped.
Linden tries to ignore Faye and he tells her that the AAU is no place for a pregnant woman. Faye ends up taking extreme action to try and gain his attention. Oliver's confidence is crushed following another disagreement with Greg.
Faye and Linden's relationship breaks down as Linden finds out about a number of lies Faye has told. Linden ends up trying to save her after she is threatened by a drug addict but it ends up costing him dearly. Michael ends up having to go in on his day off to explain some of the figures he's lied about in his plans for Holbycare.
Connie is feeling good but when a stranger in her office turns out to be the new joint director of surgery, Henrik Hanssen, she decides she doesn't do job share. Joseph feels bad for Faye and dismisses Jac's cynical view of her.
Penny is left on the frontline on AAU as Michael basks in the luxury of Holby Care. Hanssen shows up just in time to witness the mess and Michael realises he may have pushed his luck just a bit too far. Connie is surprised to hear that Ric could lose his job and she attempts to protect him from Hanssen.
Ric attempts to deny the problems he has with his health by focusing his attentions on his duties. Joseph is warned by Jac to be wary of involving himself with Faye. Chrissie returns to work following the birth of her baby and she sets her eyes on Greg.
Jac fights to secure Ric's old job. Jac ends up failing to do pre-op checks on a high-risk patient and they nearly lose him on the table. Jac ends up blaming Chrissie. Joesph's concerns about Faye increase after she breaks down on the ward.
Michael ends up delaying writing a report for Penny and focuses on a job interview instead. He ends up getting Sheena Clore from Administration sacked from her position and ends up on the receiving end of Penny’s anger after he lets her down. Ollie finds himself having to deal with an asylum-seeking patient who wont speak.
Hanssen warns Connie that cuts still have to be made on Darwin and he ends up putting Elliot in the firing line. Jac feels like she has to be completley indispensable so that Hanssen will be impressed. When she makes a wrong choice in theatre things don't go to plan. Frieda is encouraged by Penny and Michael to come back on to the day shift on a permanent basis.
After Faye goes into labour she refuses to leave the psyche ward which causes Joseph to panic. The baby is in a breeched position and Faye needs a Caesarean performed quickly. Jac ends up getting a call from Joseph asking for help. Chrissie looks forward to her date with Greg but she is worried that its not the right time to start dating again. Donna is determined not to give into Kieran's charms.
Connie finds it hard to manage an increasingly difficult Elliot after her father is admitted to Keller. Joseph must choose between his responsibilities to Faye and his growing feelings towards Jac following the birth of his son.
Connie finds her nightmares becomes reality after she manages to lose both Greg and Elliot's respect and also, her father's routine operation goes wrong.
Ollie's efforts to make a positive contribution in AAU don't go to plan when a face from the past shows up.
Chrissie shows up late for work after being up all night with Daniel. She ends up having a meltdown on the ward when she is worried about the upcoming panel hearing. After Sacha offers her a shoulder to cry on, Chrissie begins to wonder if her perfect man is staring her in the face. Penny lets the power go to her head as she starts work as the stand in Registrar. Joseph attempts to help Faye deal with Harry after he becomes sick. Joseph ends up asking Faye to spend Christmas with him which puts an end to his plans for a romantic time with Jac.
Both Connie and Faye face difficult decisions as Christmas Day arrives. Connie's father, William, is rushed in for emergency surgery which sees Connie coming to a decision about what she wants to do with the rest of her life. Faye makes plans to flee England with baby Harry but Jac stops her and brings her back for a confrontation with Joseph.
Having beaten up his boss on Day Care Surgical ward, Malick finds the AAU is now his last chance. He soon ends up rubbing Michael and Penny up the wrong way though. Donna and Kieran show up for work like love's new young dream. Chrissie has to face a disciplinary hearing and she considers leaving the hospital for good. Mark ends up attempting to help her save her job.
Joseph decides to work less so that he can spend more time with Harry but after Hanssen offers him a promotion it becomes harder foe him to put his family before his career. Joseph ends up deciding to put his family first though after he decides to quit the hospital for good. Sacha is unable to get back into Chrissie's good books no matter how hard he tries. Penny attempts to convince Frieda to consider applying for an F1 position after she learns she has lost her current job.
After Elliot discovers Greg and Mary-Claire in a compromising situation, Greg's position at the hospital is put in danger. Greg becomes determined to show he Elliot how talented he is s up but risking a patient's life as he tries to. Donna returns to work on the ward but she is still feeling angry and bitter about Kieran. She ends up managing to alienate her staff and angering Mark and she also ends up damaging a colleague's career. Sacha is devastated after Chrissie decides to distant herself from him.
Hanssen tells Mark that he has to lose either Elliot or Ric from the rota. Mark is torn over what to do. Elliot ends up handing Hanssen and Mark the end of his career on a plate after he bends the rules yet again for a patient. Kieran shows up at the hospital desperate to win back Donna. Donna ends up shutting Kieran out for good, knowing that she cannot be in a relationship with him while he is out serving in Afghanistan.
After Malick is left in charge of the AAU, Michael thinks that he should use his team. Malick ends up managing to upset everyone and in particular Penny, whose diagnosis and advice he decides to ignore.
Malick is told by a patient that she would rather see a consultant than a registrar. It soon becomes obvious though that the patient is not being entirely honest about the reasons behind her request. Malick ends up accusing the patient of racism after he is replaced on the case by Ric and in turn the woman ends up making a formal complaint against him.
Jac wants to prove to Hanssen that she is a great surgeon but even after overcoming all the obstacles in her way, she realises that she isn't the number one on Darwin ward after new surgeon Sahira arrives. Ric decides to focus on his job rather than his health but the two of them end up colliding. After Ric is given the costly cancer drugs he needs but other patients are denied he decides to fight Hanssen and the trust. Chrissie considers applying for Nurse Consultancy training.
Sahira' s past association with Hanssen continues to cause suspicion and he asks her to report on Greg's performance in surgery, which tests her loyalties. Donna learns that Kieran has been injured and Elizabeth attempts to convince her to go see him. Chrissie has her first day of nurse consultant training with Dan as her mentor.
Elliot thinks that Jac should become a team player if she wants to get ahead, but she is soon back to her old ways. Donna has finally seen Kieran but his leg is in bad shape and he refuses to give her the time of day. As he begins to have a change of heart, his condition takes a turn for the worse. Oliver tries to convince Penny to take the blame for a mistake that he has made so he won't have to repeat a whole year at the hospital.
Donna wants a new life with Kieran but she finds it hard to think about leaving Ric and Michael. Elizabeth and Jess try to help her. Sahira finds it hard to meet Hanssen's demands and ends up being surprised after she finds a friend in Jac. Frieda is forced to rely on Chrissie after she finds out that a difficult patient has a phobia of doctors.
Penny is not happy with Oliver for betraying her. After a patient dies unexpectedly, Oliver ends up admitting something monumental about his past. Greg is fed up with Sahira throwing her weight around and he decides to retaliate. Hanssen is not happy when Sahira loses focus in an operation and tells her her which leaves Greg feeling guilty.
Ric attempt to rally the team against Hanssen when he instructs that all Upper GI cases should be transferred to a different hospital. Ric fights to save his livelihood but after Hanssen finds out that he's dying, he offers to save his life by removing the tumour. Jac's determination to the consultant's job sees her getting into trouble after she goes above Sahira's head by going into theatre with a young patient. After the patient dyes Jac has to explain her actions.
Hanssen insists that he can save Ric's life in surgery and ends up using Jess to persuade Ric to go ahead with it. The stress of everything ends up causing Jess to give birth while her father's life hangs in the balance. Oliver decides to quit but can't find the courage to actually do it. When he works with Frieda he ends up feeling gradually reinvigorated.
The interviews for the consultancy role take place and both Jac and Sahira hope to impress. Sahira finds herself being tested after a patient, whom she's previously diagnosed with a benign tumour, is brought back into the hospital with serious complications. Malick has to deal with a patient who claims to have been stabbed in a burglary. After his wife is brought onto the ward from the emergency department, Malick soon discovers that not everything is as it seems and he has to use cunning to deal with the situation.
As news of a train crash locally breaks at the hospital, Oliver is given an ultimatum by Penny. He has to tell Hanssen that he failed his exams or she will tell him herself. Oliver finds it hard to cope on AAU and ends up finding himself situation with a vulnerable patient. The day Jac has been waiting for has finally arrived as she is queen of Darwin ward. Sacha decides to try and be happy for Chrissie and Dan.
Michael is determined to improve his game and after he takes a professional risk, he ends up aligning himself with a former classmate. Malick is determined to prove to Hanssen that he can be the new Michael. Sahira doesn't want to just be seen as a surgeon who gets emotionally over-involved with her patients.
Michael is feeling the pressure following his divorce settlement and getting his Plastics plan up and running. He finds himself further tested after he realises that it's success could mean the collapse of another department at the hospital. Greg attempts to help a teenager who is suffering with a rare heart condition and ends up becoming emotionally involved in the case.
Greg attempts to reconcile a teenage patient's bad feeling about an operation that they need. Her father beleives that the operation is the best option and Greg attempts to speak up on her behalf. After Jac decides to take him off the case, Greg feels isolated. After returning to work, Jac is determined to keep his cool. Dan ends up rufflling Jac's feathers after he attempts to impress him.
Malick still has a lot to do to try and prove himself to Ric, despite delivering a heroin addict's baby in reception at the hospital. He finds himself having to make a life-saving decision. Greg feels let down by the rest of the team when his young patient dies. Sahira ends up trying to reason with him but he turns down her kindness and ends up making a serious error of judgement with a new patient.
Elizabeth attempts to keep a level-head after her grandmother shows up gravely ill. She ends up getting drawn back into the web of dark secrets that map out her past after trying to keep her distance. Sacha finds himself under pressure after he's moved to AAU.
Michael finds himself being under huge pressure to show that the Plastics Unit is running smoothly. After a vulnerable patient has their operation stopped halfway through, it starts to look like the Plastic vision is fast disappearing. He also ends up facing a moral dilemma when he finds something out about Sunil. Sacha finds it hard to control his team, as Frieda and Chrissie become increasingly frustrated with one other.
Dan attempts to do right by his best friend, who is suffering from a long-standing knee injury. His condition though ends up being a lot worse than Dan had realised. The pressure increases after Malick becomes involved and discovers that the situation is all Dan's fault. Hanssen attempts to recreate the magic that he and Sahira once shared. Frieda attempts to keep her emotions in check after her family call her with some bad news.
Elizabeth ends up finding her personal and professional lives crashing into one another after her mother unexpectedly turns up displaying unusual behaviour. Sacha attempts to impress Hanssen by trying to get a busy and understaffed AAU in order. Jac is on the warpath after the Plastics team take up valuable theatre time that she needs.
Hanssen admits to Jac that unless she discovers something magic to save CT, it will disappear. Sahira comes up with an idea for a mobile cardiac unit. Malick begins to become frustrated after Dan's behaviour gets in the way of them treating their shared patient.
Oliver struggles to cope after he returns to work for the first time following Penny's death. Elizabeth is forced to revisit her troubled past after coming face to face with her mother for the first time in years. Ric ends up trying to to intervene with some very dangerous consequences.
Sahira is pushed by Hanssen into getting behind the Cardiac Trauma Unit in an effort to save the department. Sir Fraser pays a visit and Hanssen is forced to make some ruthless decisions. After Sacha hears that Chantelle is no longer required he offers to break the news to her but soon realises that it might be as easy as he thought to tell her.
Sahira is not happy after Hanssen snubs the cardiac trauma unit before it's even begun. Sahira smuggles a patient into Holby without Hanssen's knowledge to prove it can be a success. Hanssen ends up realising just how far she is prepared to go to save Darwin. Dan is determined to stay away as far away from Malick as possible and ignores his advice about a patient. After the patient gets into trouble Dan finds himself being forced to face the consequences of his actions.

After Sahira's cardiac trauma facility trial is finally sanctioned by Hanssen, she is determined to see it being a success from the very beginning. She soon finds her leadership and surgical skills being tested to the limits though. Malick jumps at the chance to assist Hanssen on an important case so that he can prove himself. After a vulnerable patient spirals into decline, he ends up being forced to decide just where his priorities lie.
Ric ends up being forced by Elizabeth to do whatever he can to save her mother, who is brought into hospital in a very bad way. Knowing that Elizabeth still blames him for his last interference in the case, Ric realises that he must be very carefully. Sahira wants to get away on time for her son's birthday after a young boy is brought in as a trauma patient. Hanssen ends up emotionally blackmailing Sahira into staying.
Chrissie becomes more and more fed up with Dan attempting to organise her life and she ends up telling him to back off after he accuses her of letting their personal differences cloud her professional judgement. A former childhood friend of Greg's shows up on the ward and it soon becomes clear that there is a secret that they both share.
Greg is upset to hear that his old school friend, Andy, is still in hospital. He ends up distancing himself after he becomes unable to cope but when Andy threatens to take his own life, Greg is forced to face his own demons. Elizabeth wants to look after her mother Simone after she is moved to Keller Ward, but ends up being forced to see the seriousness of her mother's mental health after she is compromised under her care. Frieda returns to work from compassionate leave and ends up bonding with Eddie over their frustrations with new F1 Lulu.
Malick feels fed up with no surgeries coming his way. He ends up being offered the chance by Ric to assist on a kidney transplant but it clashes with a vital operation for another patient. Malick ends up facing a dilemma between his career and his conscience. Sacha and a professional snowboarder manage to make a connection after he is brought in with a head injury. Eddi becomes worried that he Sacha is becoming too emotionally involved. Hanssen tries to stop the advances of a patient.
Frieda is determined to get on with her work following the death of her father. After Hanssen announces the fate of Darwin, everybody believes that he has saved Sahira's job out of favouritism. Sahira ends up giving in her resignation to prove them wrong. The moving of the cardiothoracic unit to St James's means Elliot will now get less time in surgery and he decides to try and prove his surgical skill to St James's board.
After Frieda is scheduled to assist Michael in surgery, Lulu wants the opportunity for herself. Chantelle believes that she can reconcile Elizabeth with her mother before Simone is transferred to the Psychiatric ward but ends up having to see that she can't fix everything all of the time. Sahira attempts to force Greg into admitting that he has a problem and confront his demons from the past.
Michael has a tough day when he is under pressure from Hanssen to deliver a business plan and torn he finds himself torn between the needs of Sunil and his daughter. After a former patient shows up with complications from surgery he performed, Michael has to decide whether to cover his tracks or do the right thing. Lulu wants to meet Michael's daughter and notch things up a gear.
Dan finds it hard to focus whilst working a night shift with agency nurse Stephen. He ends up being confused by Stephen's behaviour towards him and makes a decision about his future with Chrissie. Sahira becomes tired and emotional whilst working the night shift and Greg ends up offering to cover for her.
Eddi's involvement in Josh's recovery means that they both struggle when he has to leave the hospital. Their friendship ends up being threatened by his girlfriend whom Eddi ends up scaring away. Michael is fed up about Sunil's doubt in his surgical skill. His confidence rnds up being rocked after a former patient comes into the hospital with a leaking implant. Chantelle wants Elizabeth to relax and have some fun. After Elizabeth's mother comes back to the ward in a serious condition, their plans for a night out end up being put on hold.

Oliver accepts a lucrative job offer when he grows fed up of being Jac's dogsbody. After a couple with learning difficulties come onto the ward, Jac decides to allow Oliver lead the case and he's soon involved in their lives. Eddi finds it hard to keep a professional distance as news on whether snowboarder Josh will walk again arrives.
Hanssen attempts to contain the plastics scandal and Michael fights to save his job. After a major road traffic accident brings in the missing Sunil Bhatti, the team are forced to pull together to try to save his and hospital's future. It's Josh's last day and Sacha is determined to send him off on a good note.
Sir Fraser tells Hanssen that the hospital's target of achieving Foundation Trust status has been put hold following the plastics scandal. Hanssen attempts to guarantee he has the full support of his staff. When Elizabeth returns to work she ends up receiving some unexpected news about her family. Elizabeth becomes inspired to make a big decision about her own future after attempting to help a patient. Chrissie wants to prove herself to Eddi who's duty it is to sign off her nurse practitioner management module.
Sahira is fed up with the new micro-management regime started by Hanssen. She is determined to treat her patients in the best way she can, until she realises just how much pressure Hanssen is really under. Hanssen's management of resources also stop Sahira completing a favour for a friend. She has other things to worry about though when Jac reveals Freya is about to be put into foster care.

Malick and Luc argue over the treatment of a trauma patient with glass stuck in his leg.Sahira's had enough of Greg’s special treatment and tell him to keep his distance. Oliver is left in charge of all things orthopaedic.

Frieda is nervous about her exam results. Dan is not pleased with having to work with Chrissie and Sacha following their holiday.
Michael is at odds new consultant Alex Broadhurst over the treatment of a man who is suffering with abdominal injuries. He finds himself in a fight to keep his position as clinical lead. Oliver decides that he has to must prove himself to Greg.

The sudden arrival of a patient with an unusual condition forces him to choose between attending the ceremony or carrying out an operation. New F1 doctor Tara is keen to get involved straight away after she begins work at the hospital but she ends up putting a patient's life in danger. Eddi sees a different side to Luc's personality after a friend of his shows up looking for treatment.
Sahira finds it hard to deal with working next to Greg and Rafi their friendship grows and her life at home deteriorates. Malick is happy after Hanssen offers him the opportunity to become Clinical Skills Lead. Eddi's brother Liam shows up at the hospital needing her help.
Elliott attempts to persuade both Hanssen and the hospital board to send disused surgical equipment to Ukraine. Eddi gets some help from an unlikely source as she finds it hard to monitor Liam. Frieda has difficulties answering Tara's endless questions.
Michael is not happy about Alex's handling of the Clinical Lead position and the tension between the pair increases as their diagnoses of a patient are very different. The patient's life begins to slip away as they argue. Hanssen comes up with a way to exploit Sahira's divided loyalties to her job and her husband.
Sahira is not happy when Hanssen removes her from CTU. Things are no better at home either after Rafi questions her about her bond with Greg. Dan believes that the Clinical Skills job is his for the taking but begins to lose confidence as he and Malick are both interviewed. Consultant, Serena Campbell begins working on Keller and despite Malick's warnings, Ric believes that he will be able to handle her. After Ric and Serena clash over a patient's care, he needs to find a way to be able to work with her in the future. Tara wants to impress Jac and jumps at the chance to help her with a difficult patient. Luc is back on the ward and Eddi is not impressed with his nonchalant behaviour.
Sacha attempts to encourage a medical student called Ella who is on the verge of quitting. After she is confronted by volatile patients on AAU, he realises he could have overestimated her capabilities. Elliot finds it hard to adjust to technological upgrades on Darwin ward.
Registrar Mo Effanga and nurse Jonny Maconie begin working on Darwin as the hospital attempts to establish itself as a transplant centre. Chrissie refuses to go home, despite Michael's pleas, and insists she is fine to carry on working. Dan ends up getting a surprise after former friend Simon Marshall joins the team on Keller.
Malick ends up clashing with Serena over a patient's care. Jonny annoys Jac by doubting her diagnostic skills. Sacha is worried after his daughter Rachel arrives on the ward complaining of abdominal pain. Chrissie believes that she is only taking advantage of his good nature to play truant from school.
A transplant patient ends up jeopardising her chances of having a life-changing operation. Serena finds it hard to stay composed after her daughter shows up on the ward in a heavily drunken state.
