Irene Roberts [1992-present], played by Lynne McGranger
Irene Roberts came to Summer Bay in 1992 searching for her kids, she was an alcoholic then, she has three children Nathan, Finlay and Damien. She decided to turn her life around and stop drinking, she moved into the beach house and decided to care for homeless kids and hes has cared for many over the years including Selina Cook, Chloe Richards, Will, Hayley and Nick Smith, Tasha Andrews and Belle Taylor, she now currently cares for Geoff and Annie Campbell. Irene's has been unlucky in love, she was married to Murdoch Roberts who turned out to be an adulterer and abusive, she began a relationship with Will, Hayley and Nick's father Ken Smith, they were soon to be married but he died. She then started seeing Paris Burnett and later Barry Hyde but they didn't last and her new love was with Lou DeBono who took her away on a boat trip with his wife Donna keep an eye on them. Lou later turned up dead and Irene went to prison but the charges were dropped and she was released. Irene turned to drink again but in now getting help. Irene jobs included working in Ailsa and Alf's shop and the diner she became secretary at the school, she now own a share of the diner with Leah Patterson-Baker |
