Good Neighbors - Recap

Melanie enters the kitchen and tells Joy and Victoria that her neighbors talked to her and that she is going to throw a party. She wants to start being spontaneous. Elka enters the house and is sporting fiery red hair. She wants to look good because Max is going to take her to Senior’s Senior Prom and that the other ladies like Max. She wants to get a nice dress to make everything pop nicely. Joy makes jokes at Elka and she warns that a fiery temper goes along with the red hair. Tori gets a text with a ring tone „Oh my God is that Victoria Chase?” A Japanese company, “Beneficial Dryness Force”, wants to pay her a lot of money to promote their product. They talk on how Brad Pitt did a Japanese product and that it is very popular now. Joy jokes with Elka again about her theme of the dance and says that it is „A night to try to remember”. Elka plays her own game. Raise your hand if you have a boyfriend.

Melanie and Joy get ready for the party and Melanie is in spirit with the things of Cleveland. Tori gets a box from her agent and it is her pants. Melanie tells that a diaper is inside of the pants but Tori refuses to think that they are actually diaper pants and says that she is going to have a soft bottom and „Freshness of Crotch”. At the party, Melanie and Joy are looking around and point out that the women don’t care what they look like and that it feels nice to have the party. Rick from across the street stops to talk to the girls and tells that he smells like fish because he fishes. He tells that he is a columnist and wants to know why Melanie came to Cleveland. She stumbles over her words and it comes out like she thinks that everyone in Cleveland are fat and ugly. Tori tries to save her and Melanie keeps messing up her words. The guest all leave offended.

After they all leave, Melanie wants to go over and apologize to Rick. She asks Joy to go with her so that she doesn’t say the wrong thing and she obliges. Melanie has a bottle of wine for Rick as a way to say that she is sorry and Rick is not home. She can see his computer and says that they can sneak in and read the article that he wrote about her. Tori shows up with her diaper pants and says that she had to wear them to „legally” say that they are refreshing. They break in through the window and Tori tells that there is nothing bad about her in the article. Melanie changes her age on the article.

On the porch swing Melanie, Joy, and Tori feel good that they didn’t get caught and they are thankful that it is over. But it is not. Melanie forgot the wine. Elka comes up with her dress and admits that the red hair is too much and complains that no one said anything. Joy points out that she tried to say something but that she didn’t listen. Tori tells that Joy can fix her hair and Elka is not sure what to do. Joy reassures her that she will be able to do it without messing it up. Melanie is about to open the window to Rick’s house and Rick is already there.

In the house, Melanie tells that there was tension and that she didn’t want him to think that she was a bad person. Except Rick has other thoughts of the “tension” between them. She sees the wine and tries to grab it. She does after the 3rd time and he asks what she was admiring. She tells that she like his balls. There is a baseball collection of his behind her. Sexual innuendo ensues and Rick takes off his robe and Melanie closes her eyes at his naked body.

Back at the house, Melanie runs in and says that it doesn’t matter what people think of her and that she doesn’t want to have to see Rick naked anymore. Joy comes out haggard from dealing with Elka’s hair. Max knocks on the door and Melanie lets him in. He looks smashing in his suit. Elka tells that she is ready and Joy has managed to get her original color back and she too looks stunning. The next morning, Tori shows her commercial she did and it is a Japanese commercial for the diaper pants. She tells that she is happy that it is only in Japan, but Elka confesses that she put it on YouTube.
