Dancing Queens - Recap

The scene opens with Victoria telling the girls that she gained a pound. Elka says that there is more coming because they live in Cleveland now. Joy gets on the scale and says that she gained a pound too. Melanie tells that she isn’t going near the scale because she knows already what it is going to say because she ate something she shouldn’t. Melanie says that in Los Angeles, it was easy to lose weight because they could just dance it off. However, they don’t have GBFFs in Cleveland. Elka asks what that is and Joy tells her that stands for Gay Best Friends Forever. Elka says that they can dance with strait men, but they tell that they don’t like it. They suggest that they get new GBFFs and Joy asks if there is a Gay part of Cleveland. She says that there is and it is where the Auto shops have been turned into Cafés now. They get ready and come out dressed up with tons of makeup on. Elka comes out in a track suit and tells the girls that they look ridiculous.

They get to the bar and see men, but notice that they are watching sports on the TV and there are no men with product in their hair. They start to question if it is a Gay bar or not until one of the men recognizes Victoria. They start to talk about Victoria’s potential GBFF and Victoria says that she wishes that he wasn’t Gay though. Elka points out a nerdy Gay guy out to Joy and says that he is her type. She agrees and says that he won’t run away from her. Melanie is left out and a woman at the bar recognizes Elka and Elka recognizes the woman to be Lydia Dombrowski. Elka walks over and punches her in the face. Elka tells that Lydia had that coming because she slept with her husband. However, Lydia tells that she had frostbite and he was trying to keep her warm. Elka apologizes to her and offers to buy her a drink. Lydia says that she owns the bar and will get her a drink.

Victoria goes over to her GBFF and Joy goes to hers. Melanie is still trying to get a GBFF, but she can’t find one. Joy talks to her GBFF and asks to sit with him. He agrees. Back with Victoria and her GBFF, and he tells that her skin is smooth. He says that he feels attracted to her and says that she will win for sure. Victoria is confused and he says that it is for the Celebrity Drag Queen contest. Victoria tells the other girls and they tell that she has to tell him the truth. Melanie asks how she is even pulling it off. Victoria tells them that she told that her voice was naturally high because of her neck. She has a few ideas about the “private parts” situation. The other Drag Queens come out and Melanie says that Victoria is going to win. Joy tells that Mathew, her GBFF, and her will vote for her. Elka and Lydia catch up on lost time. Meanwhile, Melanie still can’t find her GBFF. Joy tells Mathew that she and him can go dancing and shopping and other things. He is excited and asks if she can make him look better then he is now. She laughs and realizes that he isn’t joking.

Victoria and her GBFF are still hitting it off and Victoria goes to the bathroom and he follows in. Elka asks why she has a picture of John Glenn and Lydia says that he liked the Cream Puffs when the Bar was a bakery. Elka sees a picture of Lydia and Elka’s husband. However, Elka is cut out of the picture. Lydia tries to change the subject. Meanwhile, Victoria is trying to act that she is using the toilet standing up. Joy and Mathew get back from Joy’s makeover on him and he is a lot better. He sees a guy checking him out and leaves Joy. Victoria comes out and says that her GBFF still doesn’t think that Victoria is a girl still. Elka talks to Lydia and tells her that she is not going to believe that John Glenn told her to cut her picture out so that he can have it in space. Elka is looking at a picture of her and her husband. A man comes up behind her and says that it is a good picture and asks if she knew his dad. Elka is confused and Lydia drops Elka’s beer. Lydia says that it was only one time and Lydia asks her not to tell Elliot, her son. Melanie says that she doesn’t want to hurt an innocent man and Joy says that it is never as satisfying and Victoria says that she shouldn’t tell Elliot.

He comes over and Elka tells that she is going to fix things and tells that she can say a few things about his mother. She eventually tells that his father was a good man and Lydia comes over and asks what they are talking about. Elka says that they were talking about how it was nice to have a Lumberjack around. Victoria’s GBFF comes over and tells that the competition is going to start. Elka is feeling bummed, but when Joy tells that Victoria is entered into a Drag Queen competition, she tells that she feels better. The competition starts and Victoria looses to a Drag Queen Susan Lucii. The girls get back and Elka says that it was nice to see someone who looks like her husband. Melanie gets on the scale and realizes that she lost a pound. Elka says that she set the scale back. The episode ends.
