Tangled Web - Recap

The scene opens with Elka walking in the kitchen and sees a box of doughnuts. However, Joy tells her that she ate all the doughnuts. Elka is not happy. Barry repeats Elka and she laughs. Joy tells Elka that she was thinking about Kyle and Barry says that Joy is going to die alone. She says that Kyle replied with “maybe it is for the best” when she told him that she couldn’t make it. She is confused and says that she doesn’t know what to write back. Barry says that she is going to mess it up. Elka says that is one bird’s opinion. Melanie comes in the kitchen in men’s clothes and asks them to guess. Elka gets it right when she says that she went to see a guy naked and slept with him. Melanie says that it sounds sluttier with that. She asks how it when with Kyle. Victoria says that Clark broke up with her and in retaliation; she took one of Clark’s Peruvian spiders. She says that when she was milking it, it bit her hand. They feel that it is smooth. She says that she can’t feel a thing. Joy wishes that it could bite her and Victoria says that could happen. Barry says that the spider is loose.

The girls go to Max’s lake house while the house gets fumigated. Melanie gets a text from K.C. and she is excited that he is coming up. Barry sees the spider climb out of Victoria’s bag and says that a spider is loose. However, Victoria says that is old and that he needs a new catch phrase. He decides to go with “Eat Me”. K.C. (Kyle) comes up and kisses Melanie. Victoria introduces herself and Joy sees that Kyle is there. She asks what he is doing there and Melanie lies and says that she called him for her. The doorbell rings and Joy says that must be Casey, Melanie’s boyfriend. Melanie opens the door and pretends a Jehovah’s Witness is her boyfriend. She takes him in the kitchen and tells him that he is going to pretend that he is her boyfriend. He asks if this is a cult. Melanie says that it is nothing like a cult, but when she says that he has to do what she says and can’t leave, it sounds like one. K.C. says that he owes Joy an apology and she says that he doesn’t have to do it yet.

Victoria comes in the kitchen and says that this is a disaster. The Jehovah’s Witness says that he is a fan of Victoria. Melanie says that he has to pretend and he says that he is in after asking the “higher power” which is Victoria. After dinner, Melanie gets pretend Casey’s attention and it clicks that he is Casey. Joy goes up to Kyle and says that she is mad at him. She says that it is obvious how he feels about her and says that a guy wouldn’t drive all the way up there for nothing. Kyle is too busy looking at Melanie to listen clearly. Victoria says that she is going to bed and says that Casey can join her if he gets lonely. Joy makes it clear to Kyle that she will be “alone” in her room. In the bedroom, Pretend Casey says that he is going to have strong sex with Victoria Chase. He leaves and the Peruvian spider sneaks toward Melanie’s room. Elka goes up to Joy’s, who has been waiting for Kyle. She says that she needs heat. She allows it.

Kyle snuggles up with Melanie and she tells him to go. He says that he wants her and she says that she doesn’t want him to be funny. The spider bites Kyle’s leg. Melanie goes up to Victoria and asks for help. Joy says that Elka and her sleep together a lot and Elka says that Kyle stood her up at the altar and Joy says that she wants him to love her again. Melanie and Victoria manage to get Kyle downstairs and Melanie says that she is going to bed. Victoria asks if she can keep Pretend Casey and she says that she can have “strong sex with Casey”. They start to kiss and Kyle reminds them that he is still alive. Pretend Casey gets some wine. Kyle asks to be propped up on the pillows and Victoria says that he should be shamed for after leaving Joy. She is bit and realizes that she was bit by the Peruvian spider. She falls on top of Kyle. Just then, Clark comes in and find them. They tell that they are not lovers and Kyle says that he doesn’t find her attractive. Clark says that he will fight any man who wants to take Victoria away from him. Pretend Casey comes in and says that he has to fight him. Clark says that he needs to stetch.

Victoria says that he doesn’t have to fight anyone and Clark realizes that Victoria stole her spider and calls her names. Casey says that he doesn’t talk to the woman he loves that way. Just then, Joy comes out and asks what is going on. Melanie comes out and asks what is going on too. Joy says that Melanie’s boyfriend just told Clarke that he is in love with Victoria. Melanie tries to keep up the lie, but then comes clean about it. Victoria asks them to move her off of Kyle. Clark and Pretend Casey do it. Kyle tells Joy that when he got the phone call from her that he called off his marriage and went to her. However, when he met Melanie, he thought that she could fix him. Elka says that there is a vet that can fix him. Melanie says that he is pathetic and Joy loves that he is an emotionally stunted bastard. Kyle tries to get with her, but Joy tells him that the best part of closure is door closure. Later, Barry imitates Victoria and Melanie says that she is sorry. Joy is bit and Melanie and Victoria say that she looks like a 19-year-old. Clark says that he will get the anti-venom, but they tell him not to. Joy tells them to prop her near the Fire Station. The episode ends.
