Dr. Lisa Cuddy has to deal with an ailing daughter, insurance negotiations, a nervous board of directors, a thieving pharmaceutical aide, warring surgeons, and... House, in what proves to be anything but a typical day at the hospital.
Cuddy wakes up at 5 a.m., alone in bed. She gets up and goes about her daily preparations for the day. Rachel starts crying and Cuddy tries to take care of her while checking the time. The sitter, Marina, finally arrives. As Cuddy is heading out the door, Lucas arrives and apologizes for running late on a stakeout. She needs to make a proposal at 8:30, but he suggests she stay for some morning sex and promises to have her out the door in time. As they end up on the bed, House calls with an emergency page. Cuddy insists on ignoring it. Two minutes later, Lucas admits that he's had trouble pacing himself. Dr. Cuddy: Get out of my chair. And the answer is no.
Dr. House: You ever notice how many porn sites have "mom" in the domain name. Hot moms, hungry moms, mature moms. that ought to make you feel pretty good.
Dr. Cuddy: They should be pressuring other hospitals to be more like us, not trying to make us more like them. It's stupid.
Dr. House: Putting your job on the line in an effort to stamp out stupidity isn't?
Dr. Cuddy: You would.
Dr. House: Probably. But then I also wanted to try and cure cancer by infecting a guy with malaria to win a $50 bet. You really want to be like me?
Dr. House: They're not going to fire you. And you're not going to quit.
Dr. Cuddy: Why not?
Dr. House: Because you're an idiot.
