Two boys go to the park to launch a model rocket. The owner, Ryan, fires it off while the other boy, Chris, films it. The rocket lands in the nearby woods and the boys discover that it’s set the grass on fire. As they try to put it out, they see what appears to be a homeless man sleeping nearby. The fire spreads onto his arm and Ryan quickly puts it out. The man stares at his arm, says that it smells like licorice, and then passes out.
The team wonders if House is coming in and what he’ll do next, and House rides in on a Segway. There’s a woman, Dominika Patrova, along with him. Masters describes the case to him and Hose is intrigued by the fact that the man, Danny, has dysomia, faulty smell. He sends Taub and Chase to the park, and Masters and Foreman to run an odor ID test. Since Danny gave a fake name, he tells them to find out what he’s lying about. As House leaves, he introduces Dominika and explains that they’re getting married on Friday.
Masters and Taub check on Danny, who refuses to pay for anything. He insists he’s always been healthy, but Foreman notices burns and scars on his back and chest. Danny says that his father beat him and made sure to cover it up so his son was never hospitalized.
House delivers wedding invitations on his Segway and gives one to Cuddy. She tells him that he can’t use the Segway in the hospital, but he insists that he needs it for his leg. However, when House complains about leg pain, Cuddy gives in and gives him an exception.
Wilson comes to see House, who is getting a back massage from Dominika. House asks her to leave, and Wilson accuses him of screwing with Cuddy. House notes that it doesn’t make sense, and finally explains that he’s marrying Dominika so she can get her green card. He figures he can get her to work four days for him for free, in return for marrying her. Wilson doesn’t believe it, until House explains that he has an ironclad prenup.
Danny fails the odor ID test. Chase and Taub return from the park and show the others the syringe kit they found. The patient insists that he’s been taking vitamin supplements, and that all of his books have the name “Danny Jennings” on them. Danny makes another excuse, and then complains of pain as he suffers from gastrointestinal bleeding.
As Dominika gives Foreman a foot massage, Masters confirms that the syringe vials contain vitamin supplements, just as Danny claimed. House explains that he tested Danny’s hair and confirmed that he’s been using heroin within the last five months. The dysomia and the gastrointestinal bleeding don’t match, but House figures that the different symptoms could be because of poor living conditions. For now, House tells them to treat for vitamin OD, but agrees to let Masters to check for a GI obstruction and x-ray Danny’s abdomen.
House goes to Cuddy and asks her to put Dominika on his health insurance. She warns that it’s fraud, but House has Dominika come in to make a speech about American rights and offer kulich. Cuddy warns that if House doesn’t get married, he’ll lose his coverage, but House says he knows and Cuddy signs.
As she runs the abdominal x-ray, Masters tells Danny that they know about his heroin use. He explains that he kicked heroin by dying: he was dead for a few minutes when he overdosed. Danny figures that it means something as a sign from God, and he plans to become a doctor one day. They find thirteen masses on the wall of Danny’s colon, and show it to House. Both Chase and Masters speak in Danny’s favor, but Taub and House don’t believe him. House figures that it’s fungal growth and orders treatment and a scope in the morning.
As Taub and Foreman run the scope, Taub suggests that they boycott the wedding. However, he’s disappointed when he learns that Foreman and Chase will both be serving at the wedding. They discover that the masses are bones, and ask Danny for an explanation. He claims that the chef at an Italian restaurant gives him food dares, and pays off with decent food. As they talk, Danny suddenly develops tunnel vision.
The team meets above the hospital lobby to discuss the case, and watch while House and Dominika play with RC helicopters. Chase suggests Foster Kennedy Syndrome, which would press on olfactory and optic nerves. House agrees and tells them to MRI Danny’s head, and then sends his helicopter to attack Cuddy as she meets with donors. Rather than do anything about House, Cuddy claims that they give RC helicopters to children to entertain them.
As Chase and Taub run the MRI, Taub snaps at Danny. Chase believes that Danny deserves a second chance because he believes in God, and Taub notes that Danny is roping Chase and Masters in by telling them what they want to hear. Danny starts vomiting as they end the MRI scan.
Masters and Taub report to House and the others, who are playing ping pong with Dominika. There are two dark spots on the parietal cortex, and House figures that Danny is schizophrenic. He orders treatment and figures the case is solved, and doesn’t care if Danny goes back out on the streets once they’ve diagnosed his problem.
Wilson comes to see House, who readily admits that he’s taking advantage of Cuddy’s guilt to get what he wants. His friend notes that House is beating up on someone who isn’t fighting back.
Taub checks on Danny and uses a hockey pen to write up the report. He figures that Danny will try to appeal to him by claiming he likes hockey, but Danny says that he hates hockey. Masters has a list of shelters that will treat schizophrenia, but Danny suddenly complains about a burning sensation in his uninjured arm.
House picks up the team in his new monster truck and runs differential. They’re already treating for schizophrenia, which means that schizophrenia isn’t the cause of his symptoms. House figures that it’s a genetic disorder, but refuses to let them take weeks to run all the tests. He tells them to find Danny’s parents and check the family history for disorders.
Later, Taub tells House that he managed to find Danny’s father, and Chase and Masters are already on the way. Taub asks why House didn’t invite him to help at the wedding, and wonders if House is screwing with him. Dominika emerges from under the desk and Taub quickly leaves. She admits she feels sorry for Taub and asks if there’s something they can have him do.
Chase and Masters go to talk to Danny’s father, and ask if the family has a history of genetic disorders. When Masters says that they’re trying to make his son better, the father says that his Danny died three months ago of a drug overdose.
House goes to see Danny and asks what his real name is. Danny claims that he doesn’t want his father finding him. His father has gotten cleaned up and wants to be part of Danny’s life, but Danny swears that he’d kill the man if he met him again. He reaches for a glass of water and misses, and House realizes they have a new symptom: cerebellar ataxia. He tells Masters that it confirms Danny has early-onset Parkinson’s, and tells her to treat and confirm.
Wilson goes to see Cuddy and complains that House is out of control. Cuddy doesn’t see the problem, and Wilson tells her to stop feeling sorry for House and start standing up to him. She goes to the chapel that House plans to use for the wedding and tell him to get out. He tries to make her feel guilty but she stands her ground and tells him to find somewhere else.
As Masters runs tests on Danny, he tells her that she should let him die. He explains that he OD’d because he was trying to kill himself because he did horrible things. Danny thought that he lived because God forgave him, but figures that God is just making him suffer. Masters says he doesn’t deserve to suffer, but Danny says he almost killed a girlfriend in college when he snapped and beat her. He says that he’s a monster and deserves to die, and then suffers heart dilation and passes out.
Back in differential, the team realizes they can’t get Danny on the transplant list for a new heart in his current condition. House wonders why Danny has been getting steadily worse since he was admitted, and notices an orderly going by with a meal cart. He checks Danny’s diet and realizes that he’s eating healthy because he can, and having vegetarian meals. House concludes that Danny has Adult Refsum Disease., and can’t process the phytanic acid and chlorophyll. He orders treatment and goes to get married.
House holds the wedding at his apartment, with Chase as the priest and foreman as his best man. Taub stands in as the ring bearer. As the couple exchange vows, Cuddy goes off into the bedroom. Wilson follows her and she admits that she’s angry for letting House get to her. He offers to leave with her, and Cuddy says that she won’t give House the satisfaction. Wilson points out that with that, things are getting back to normal.
Masters explains that Danny is cured as long as he follows his new diet, and she says that he’s not a bad person. She suggests that he talk to a professional when he gets out, and Danny figures that everything that happened was God’s way of testing his resolve. He thanks Masters for helping him past the test. As Masters goes, Danny says that “Danny” isn’t his real name, and she says that it doesn’t matter.
After the wedding, Dominika sits down with House and says that she likes him despite the fact it isn’t a real marriage. He says that he likes her too, and she kisses him. House starts to kiss her back, and then says that he never sleeps with married women. He tells Dominika that she can take the couch and he’s going to bed.
The next day, Masters goes to check on Danny and discovers that FBI agents are searching his room. Foreman explains that Danny disappeared without checking out, and the FBI showed up when they sent the DNA to the lab. Danny is a cannibal who has killed thirteen victims in ten different states.
