Recap

House wakes up and finds himself in an abandoned warehouse, lying next to a man. As House crawls over, Kutner appears and explains that he’s House’s subconscious and the man is dead. House points out that Kutner is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and Kutner warns him that the fire burning through the warehouse isn’t dead. He tells House to get moving, but House doesn’t see the point since he’s hallucinating. Kutner asks how he met the dead man...

Episode Quotes
Dr. Adams: You took a new case?
Dr. Park: You ran tests yourself?
Dr. House: I saw the chance to help someone in need and I instinctively... oh no, wait, that was someone else's instinct.

Dr. Foreman: You're asking me to perjure yourself.
Dr. House: Tiny white lie. No offense. Especially since, from what I hear, nothing black is tiny. Except your penis, I guess.

(about House)
Dr. Wilson: You think he could've done something stupid?
Dr. Foreman: I think stupid is our best-case scenario.

Dr. House: Isn't this just an incredibly simple calculation? I''m going to jail, losing my job, losing my best friend. Do I need more?
Kutner: You think that's the sum total of who you are? A doctor? A friend to Wilson?
Dr. House: I'm also a tremendous baritone.

Stacy Warner: Wilson's right. he's always right. he's always been your good side.
Dr. House: I always wondered why I photographed so poorly.

Dr. Wilson: He was my friend. The thing you have to... remember... the thing you can’t forget is that Gregory House saved lives. He was a healer. And—and in the end… House was an ass. He mocked anyone—patients, co-workers, his dwindling friends—anyone who didn’t measure up to his insane ideals of integrity. He claimed to be on some heroic quest for truth, but the truth is, he was a bitter jerk who liked making people miserable. And he proved that by dying selfishly, numbed by narcotics, without a thought of anyone. A betrayal of everyone who cared about him.

Dr. Wilson: When the cancer starts getting really bad...
Dr. House: Cancer’s boring.

Cultural References
Dr. House: Did you ever see Dead Poets Society? Carpe diem.

This 1989 movie about an English teacher in a New England boys academy starred Robin Williams and a young Robert Sean Leonard (Wilson).

Analysis
The Reichenbach Falls

Maintaining its parallels to Sherlock Holmes, the series ends much like the stories originally ended in "The Final Problem." Holmes fakes his death and later reveals that he's alive to his best friend, Watson. Here, House fakes his death and later reveals that he's alive to his best friend Wilson.
