Nielsen Ratings: Slapsgiving 2: Revenge of the Slap was seen by 8.75 million people, and was rated 5.2/8 in adults 25-54, 3.7/10 in adults 18-49, and 3.5/10 in 18-34. This episode delivers the show's best adults 18-49 as of this season, and matches the season high adults 18-34 performance.



Episode Goofs
Ted says he has always wanted to slap Barney, but he has slapped Barney twice: In episode 1x22 "Come On" and episode 4x15 "The Stinsons".



Episode References
The slap bet that they speak of, was won by Marshall in episode 2x09 "Slap Bet", were the first slap also occurred. Marshall used the second slap in episode 2x16 "Stuff", and the third in 3x09 "Slapsgiving".

The title of this episode is a reference to the season 3 episode "Slapsgiving", in which Marshall uses the third of the five slaps he won in episode 2x09 "Slap Bet".

The song they sing during the commercial at the end, is the same song Marshall sang at the end of episode 3x09 "Slapsgiving".
