Karen: I didn't say I liked them.
Robin: Oh, well, I got a great deal on them, so...
Karen: Cool! I'm sure all the exploited diamond miners in Sierra Leone would give you a high five if they still had all their fingers. But they're really pretty!
Robin: I only need one finger to give her what I'm thinking...

Marshall: Ted, Karen's a douche.
Ted: Wow, thank you for sugar coating it.
Marshall: Douche is sugar coating it.

Barney: I don't know what Ted sees in that horrible woman. I mean, yeah, she's got boobs, but... oh, I guess I get it.

Lily: You sleep in a pajama suit??
Barney: Of course, what did you think I sleep in?
Ted: A coffin.

Marshall invites everyone over at 3:30 to watch Robin's show, but in episode 4x15 "The Stinsons", Robin told Tyler that the show airs at 4:30.

Lily says that if Robin and Ted had stayed together and eventually had a bitter break up, she and Robin would never have become best friends. However, in episode 2x17 "Arrivederci, Fiero", Lily tells the story of how she and Robin became best friends. This was way before Ted and Robin broke up, which means Lily and Robin would have become best friends no matter what happened between Robin and Ted.

When Lily and Ted are yelling at each other, they're quite accurately acting out a well-known scene from A Few Good Men (1992) with actors Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson.

The break up between Ted and Robin that Lily admits to have caused, is the break up we saw in episode 2x22 "Something Blue".
