The scene opens with Amber and Chloe writing to their parents and Chloe sees that Amber has written ten pages to her mother whereas she has only written one page. Amber tells that her mom and her are very close. She asks is she could write to her family for her. Dr. Rand is talking to her father, Joe and tells that Will’s parents are wondering how she is doing and Joe asks what Dr. Rand’s mother thinks of him being at camp with her. Dr. Rand tells that she is fine with it. Joe tells that the truth is always the best thing to say. Back in the cabin, Poppy is collecting the mail from the campers and Becca tells Will that Chloe is telling people that Will stole her magazine. Will admits it and tells that she destroyed it for good reasons and that being the feminist she is, she had to. Chloe is upset. Amber tells her to leave it alone. Dr. Rand attempts to write her mom and email. She writes that her father is with her at camp. But she deletes is before sending it.

Shea is leading the campers on their run. Ian is talking about Amber to Will and he says that Amber is beautiful. Dr. Rand welcomes a new camper Daniel. The family has matching shirts with their last name written on it. Dr. Rand tells the parents that they need to give Danielle some space. The campers enter and Poppy introduces herself. Poppy realizes that the last name is wrong on the form but they tell that they were in line at Disneyland and that they meet a family named The Dobsons and switched names for the fun of it. Poppy is laughing but everyone else feels that the family is a little weird. Poppy tells that the other campers to include Danielle. Dr. Rand tells Will that she needs to get in contact with her family to which Will wants nothing to do with it. Chloe asks why Danielle is starting so late and she tells that she was busy with things. Danielle goes up to her mother and asks for Aspirin.
Outside, Danielle’s parents ask Dr. Rand if they can hang around a little bit to keep an eye on Danielle. She obliges despite the rules. In the dinning hall, the parents are interacting and Will tells Ian and Becca that it is strange and that at camp you are supposed to get away from your parents. Dr. Rand enters and tells that the campers need to pick a weekly activity. Mail time and Chloe is in line and gets a box from her parents. Alistair is trying to see what Chloe got and she leaves quickly. At the weekly activity, everyone is trying to pick their activity and Amber goes to the sport in which George is leading. Danielle tries to fit in but Amber snubs her. Every camper goes to George’s activity because he lets them have a 15 minute bathroom break. Shea breaks up the group and attempts to pull Amber from George’s activity to which George finds out that Amber’s name is not Sandra when he tells that she is with him.
At Circuit Training Ian is really trying to get Amber to notice him but Danielle and he hit it off when they go after the same piece of equipment. “The Dobsons” enter the activity and tells George that they are just going to observe. Will, Alistair, and Becca are sent to play basketball and Trent has a brace on his knee. He tells that it is nothing. Trent starts to explain the rules of basketball and Will asks Becca if she looks like a Lesbian. She tells that some people maybe think that she is and hypothetically she might want to hook up with a guy. The game starts and the players are scared of the sport. Trent is the only one really into the game. Trent tells Will to get the ball and yells at her. She gets mad and insults Trent’s manhood and he tells her to sit down and complain like she always does.

Trent is walking with Chloe talking about the joy of basketball and she is just interested to hear him talk. She tries to hold Trent’s hand but pulls back. Trent tells that his dad played sports with him ever since his mom died and that basketball is what helped him. Later that night, “The Dobsons” tell Dr. Rand thank you and tell her that they will see her in the morning. Dr. Rand is shocked and tells them that they are not permitted. But they convince her when they tell that they have a hotel already booked and that they live a long ways away. She tries to tell that they are sending the wrong message to Danielle but obliges to let them come back. Meanwhile, Amber is waiting to use the phone and George walks up to her. He says that he needs to talk to her. He apologizes that he called her Sandra for so long. But she forgives him. He looks back and sees that she lost her spot in line. He offers his phone. Dr. Rand walks into the kitchen where Joe is there and Joe offers her a muffin. She tells that she never eats after dinner. She complains that “The Dobsons” ignored her and Joe tells that she needs to stand her ground like she did with her mother.
Amber calls her mom and it is a good conversation but then the conversation turns argumentative and she is upset. She tells that she needs to go. She goes back to George and gives him his phone. She starts to tell that she is really glad to be at camp. George tells that it is good not to miss anyone and Amber tells that she misses someone. George assumes it is her boyfriend but the bell rings for the campers to return to the cabins before she could respond. Dr. Rand attempts to write to her mother again and talks about how she gave her father, Joe a job and that she is happy that he is there. But she deletes the message again.
In the morning, Will attempts to ditch out on activities and Danielle’s mom is there. Will tells that she hates basketball. The mom tells that Will is creative and tells that it was Danielle’s idea to go to camp. She tells that she wants to support her and that it is hard. She brings up that Will hates basketball and wants to know exactly what she hates about the sport. Meanwhile in circuit training, George is checking out Amber and Ian is too. Ian goes to the water and meets Danielle. They talk and Danielle tells that her family is a little weird but she thinks it is funny. Danielle tells that Ian is cute. “The Dobsons” walk Will down to the basketball court. Shea sees that she is late and tells that she has extra laps to run. Trent sees that Will is there and Danielle’s mom is supporting Will. She gets the ball and shoots. She makes the basket. She wants to know where Trent is and make sure that he saw it. But Trent is sitting by the lake writing a letter. He tells in the letter that he just plays sports because it just happened that way and that it just felt normal. He is writing a letter to his mom. Back in the rec room, Ian and Danielle are playing foosball and Becca tells Ian that Will is not gay and walks away.

Chloe and Alistair meet up in the forest and she gives him things and we find out that they are brother and sister. She gives him tissues and his stuffed animal that their mom sent. He tries to strike up a conversation with her but she leaves. Will is writing a letter to her parents and she tells that she played basketball and that they will never know about it. She is upset with them that they are telling her that she is fat by sending her to a fat camp and that she wishes she could tell them that. She rips up the letter. Amber meets Danielle are in the bathroom and Amber cries and says that she is sorry that she has been snubbing her. She tells that the last girl and her really hit it off and that it is hard to see her replaced. But Danielle tells that there is always something left behind when someone leaves and they are never replaced. Later Chloe wants to move her chunk and move it. Danielle is still not out of the bathroom. They find her crying in a corner having an anxiety attack. Danielle leaves camp and the campers are wondering what happened and that she just broke down. Dr. Rand finally tries to write to her mother again but keeps all the information of her father out of it. She sends the message. Will is playing basketball when Joe sees her. He helps correct her form and plays basketball with her.
