Talent Night - Recap

The scene opens with Amber and Chloe practicing for the talent show. Sara talks to Poppy and tells that she doesn’t have a partner for the talent show and that she thought that Amber and Chloe were going to include her. Poppy tells Sara to go and ask anyways. Becca tells that she and Chloe were really close last summer and that suddenly she wasn’t cool enough. Sarah asks Chloe and Amber if she could join. Amber is alright with it but Chloe tells that there isn’t any room. In the dinning hall, Dr. Rand is announcing the talent show and that everyone should participate. Shea complains about the new chef and she tells that she recommended a chef to Dr. Rand but she hired Joe instead. She complains that the Popovers are fattening and gross. She gets up to go say something. Poppy and George see Shea’s Popover and George tells Poppy that he will arm wrestle her for it. He grabs it and puts it in his mouth.

Chloe and Amber sit with Trent and Kizarski and they talk about the food they like. Will, Ian, and Becca are hanging at the dinning hall and they tell Will that she has to do her impersonation of Dr. Rand. She looks through her bag and can’t find something. She runs out and Becca tells that Will likes to go to the basketball court and shoot a few hoops before activities. Ian tells that he is trying to write a song for Talent Night and Alistair tells that he is going to save his Popover. Shea enters and she tells that it is important. Shea is in a awkward position and she changes her tune and tells that one of the kids, Will, is going to imitate Dr. Rand at the Talent Show and leaves. Meanwhile, Will is looking for something and can’t find it still.

Dr. Rand and Joe meet surveyor Wayne and she tells that she tells that she doesn’t want anything to do with it and Joe suggest that Rand walk with Wayne. In the laundry room,
Alistair is still keeping his Popover with him and Ian finds a journal. He opens to see whose it is and finds the poem inside interesting. Alistair takes it and says that he is going to put it in the lost and found. In kickboxing class, Will comes in late and Becca asks if Will is alright. She says no. Alistair comes in right after and is caught by Shea. He has the popover in his hand. She tells him to get the Popover out of her class. Dr. Rand is walking with Wayne and she tells that Joe is her father and Wayne says that he figured because of the way they were mimicking each other. Will tells Becca that she lost her journal and Alistair comes over. But Will tells that it is a private conversation. Chloe and Amber ask Trent to be in their skit with them and Kizarski thinks it is him that they want. Amber says that Kizarski can take pictures and Trent starts to play fight with Amber. Chloe walks over and Amber kicks her camera and breaks it by accident. Chloe tells that they

Back with Rand and Wayne, he is trying to impress Rand with history and he tells that she hasn’t marked her property so it is not really a question of blame. Will and Becca are walking and Becca tells that no one is going to know it was her journal. Will tells that private things are in it and if anyone reads it, she will be devastated. Will is looking and Dr. Rand meets her and she tells that she heard that Will is doing an impression of her. Wayne asks what tomorrow night is and Rand tells it is Talent Night. He tells that Talent used to mean weight. Wayne thanks Rand for walking the property line with him. Amber and Chloe are walking and Chloe tells that she is over it and has accepted that Trent likes Amber more. Shea stops Becca and asks her why she isn’t at swim class. She tells that she is going to rehearsal and that she is going to do the dance Amber and Chloe are doing.

Amber and Chloe go to the Lost and Found to find Amber’s camera and they find Will’s journal. They start to look through it and Becca comes up and yells at them. She tells them that it is wrong to read someone’s journal. Becca returns with the journal and places it on Will’s bed. But temptation seeps in and she reads it. Will comes back and finds it on her bed. She thanks Becca for finding it. In the Dayroom, Alistair finds an old magic kit and Will tells that Ian needs to sing his song and Ian tells that Will is going to chicken out last second. Chloe and Amber make Trent and Kizarski watch “Love Handles” and Trent can’t decide which girl is better. In the boys cabin Alistair is showing off the magic kit and Trent walks in and asks Ian if he wants to be in their skit but Alistair tells that Ian is going to be singing an original song. The next morning, Rand is at a group meeting and tells that she had an unplanned snack and that she needs to be able to make her point across with her father and then she is stopped by the bell. At the cabin Kizarski and Trent are still arguing with which girl and in the bathroom, Ian is unhappy with his looks and Alistair does too.

Rand gets back to the camp and Wayne is there again. He brought signs and he offers to get them in the ground. Joe offers to help Wayne. He invites Wayne to the Talent Show later. Sara walks by and Chloe tells her to take Amber and her picture. Sara says that the camera is her camera and proves it with the unicorn sticker. Amber tells it looked like her camera. Ian goes toward the talent show and he doesn’t know if he wants to show his talent. Will meets him and tells that he should play the song for her. The Talent show begins and Rand quotes Wayne’s translation of Talent and then quotes the modern definition. Poppy and Sarah are up first and Poppy sings with a ukulele. Chloe tells that Amber stole the camera and upsets Chloe and Amber leaves. Chloe runs to Trent and hugs him. George introduces Amber and Chloe’s act and Becca is forced to dance after Shea tells her to get up and dance to her song. In the back, Chloe and Trent kiss.

The rest perform and Alistair performs and looks at Trent and gets distracted. But he turns his magic act into a comedy act. Ian gets up and performs his song. He tells that the song was inspired by a poem he found. Will recognizes the words to the song the same as her journal and runs out. The whole camp loves the song and gives him a standing ovation. George introduces Will but she is gone. Ian asks what happened to Will and Becca doesn’t know. Chloe enters and forgive Amber and tells that she made out with Trent. Wayne tells that he enjoyed the Talent Show and he tells that he can help Rand with her enclosure. Rand tells that she is sorry that she didn’t trust him but he forgives her. Ian meets Will at the lake and she asks how much her read. He tells only one page. She yells at him and tells that he ruined their friendship, but Ian tells that Will ruined it and Ian walks away.
