Spirit Quest - Recap

The scene opens up and Dr. Rand quoting Corinthians 14:15 and Will and Ian are outside and Will tells that people are so religious that they even go to church at camp. Ian tells that he goes to church on Fridays and shows that he is a devout Jew. Will tells that she is whatever she fells like. In her office, Dr. Rand tells George tells they have a problem. George tells that he will be good and Rand tells that Shea is gone and she recommended George that he could lead the campers on the Spirit Quest and tells that she heard that George is part Native American. George tells that he will run the Spirit Quest and Rand tells that another staff member will help out. George meets with Poppy and they are discussing what is entailed in the Spirit Quest and George is still shocked that Shea recommended him for the position. Poppy tells that Dr. Rand ran Spirit Quest when she was in camp. The campers are getting ready for the Spirit Quest and Rand gives Poppy a communicator and tells that she can get a hold of her if there is “any problems” at all. She looks at George.

Will and Becca are talking about the Spirit Quest and Will tells that it is simply hiking and camping. But, Becca tells that it is more then that. George has the plans that Shea faxed over and is following the Quest page by page. Poppy tells that Dr. Rand would let the spirits guide them and Amber is on a log and George sees that see is going to fall and saves her but in the process, he drops the paper. Poppy tells that it is a sign. Wayne is back on site and Dr. Rand runs up and tells that it is good to see him. He tells that he has everything he needs and drives away. Back with the campers, they arrive at the site later then usual and George tells for everyone to pick their partners. Poppy tells that Dr. Rand used to pick the partners for them and pairs up the polar opposite to everyone and the campers are not that happy. Becca and Chloe, who were friends last summer, are paired up and Becca flashes back to last summer and they were getting along great.

Later that night, Poppy tells the campers to form a circle. Poppy uses a ladle and tells everyone to talk only when holding the talking stick. George tells everyone to listen to nature. They sit around quietly and then everyone starts laughing. Poppy tells that it is hard to do it because everyone is always surrounded by noise. George tells everyone to get to their tents and not to have any food lying around for bears or coyotes. Poppy tells them to sit down really quickly and tells them to think about their dreams and in the morning to express their dreams. George goes to Poppy and tells that she is always undermining him in front of the kids and for here to relax. In the morning, everyone wakes up and they eat oatmeal. Ian tells Will that he had a dream about her and tells that she had milk that she was drinking and that it was the milk of kindness and that he wanted some. But she didn’t give him any and now he is mad. Piznarski jokes with Trent and asks how his night was with Alistair. Trent tells him to be quiet. Back at camp, Joe asks Rand about the Spirit Quest and Rand tells that it is a way to get the kids out of their comfort zone. Rand explains that when Joe came up to her after all the years and asks for a job. Joe tells that he never asked for a job. He changes subjects and tells that he will finish the fence and Rand tells that Wayne is going to finish it.

Chloe and Becca collect firewood and they talk about their names last year. Becca tells that Chloe’s name was Pinecone and her name was “running turtle”. Trent is looking for Mushrooms and Alistair tells that he needs to be careful. Trent tells that he is looking for mushrooms that are going to get him stoned. Joe meets up with Wayne and tells him that Rand is not mad at Wayne and that he needs to keep trying. George meets with Poppy and tells that he talked to his mom and she told him that his Native American grandfather died. Poppy is reading the spirit quest book and George tells that they need to just pack up and go back to camp. Poppy tells that the Spirit Guide book tells that if the Spirit Quest least wants to leave, insanity takes place. They play a game of faith with their partners and Will leads Amber into a tent and makes her fall over. She runs off and tells that she needs to go to the bathroom. Poppy tells Will to go with her. Alistair gets a mushroom from the cooler and takes it over to Trent. He hides it in the grass and gives it to Trent. He tells him to taste it and tell how he feels.

Rand walks in and she is all dressed up. Wayne comes to the door and is amazed. Joe tells for Wayne to have her back before midnight. Back with Will and Amber they go away from the camp and Amber tells that Will needs talk. She starts telling that the Spirit Quest is the worst. Amber finishes and Will doesn’t remember where they came from. Will tells that they don’t have a compass and Amber tells that Ian gave her his compass. Will tosses it in the woods and tells that they can retrace their steps. Poppy and George are still waiting for Amber and Will and George tells that he is going to go look for them. Trent feels that he is tripping on the mushroom that Alistair gave him and Trent asks how he knows so much about mushrooms. Alistair admits that his family used to go camping until his sister started hating them. Trent calls Alistair’s sister a bad name and Alistair confesses that Chloe is his sister. Trent asks why Alistair picked Athena as his name and he tells that he does what he wants. Trent tells that he understands. They talk about Chloe and how she used to be. Trent tells that he likes Alistair’s name that he picked.

Poppy tells the other campers not to worry about Will and Amber. She sits with Ian and he tells that he needs a little time to think. He starts to pray. Will and Amber stumble across the highway and find a diner and go in. Amber tells that the others have to be looking for them. Will asks Amber if she has any money. The employee locks up and they argue about what they should do. Amber tells that she is going back to the woods. George is looking for the girls and asks his grandfather for him in thought and he sees a wolf. He finds Ian’s compass and sees that there is a footprint. Will is looking at a doughnut in the garbage can and she sees the word “sign” at the same moment and George finds Amber. She runs up and kisses him. They stop and then kiss each other again. They get Will and everyone is safe.

Rand is with Wayne are on their date and she gets a call from Poppy. She starts to complain about George but she sees him with Will and Amber. Poppy tells Rand that everything is fine. Trent sneaks in Chloe’s tent and starts kissing her. Becca is awake and ignores it. In the morning, Trent is sleeping next to Chloe and Becca is still there. They all get up and Trent tells that Alistair is a good kid to Piznarski and Becca gets shunned from Chloe. She flashbacks to last summer again, and Chloe and her were best of friends. Will tells that she will help Becca pack up. As they leave everyone reflects on their own Spirit Quest and what it meant to them.
