Parents Weekend (1) - Recap

The scene opens with Joe playing basketball with Will. He tells that Parent’s Weekend is coming up and she tells that she can’t wait to rub it in her parents face on how miserable she is and how they are hypocrites. Later in the girl’s cabin, Sariah is crying again and Poppy wants to know what started it. She tells that they need to watch out what they do and that they shouldn’t walk around topless. Will tells that they are just boobs and Chloe tells that she doesn’t want to see them looking to Amber with confirmation but Amber is spacing out. Poppy tells Becca that some kids are orphans and that she will be her make believe mom as Poppy says it “Like Wendy and Peter Pan.” Becca walks away.

In the circle meeting with Dr. Rand, she tells that they need to make healthy choices if they choose to go out with their parents to eat. She goes around the circle and asks why people are excited to see their parents and why not. Ian tells that his parents constantly fight and is not happy to see them, Trent tells that he can’t wait to introduce his friends to his dad and Piznarski is happy to see his mom and hug her. Ian laughs and Piznarski tells that he is serious. Dr. Rand drops the bomb that Chloe and Alistair are brother and sister and everyone is shocked. Chloe says she doesn’t care that they are related. Chloe asks if Alistair is going to free swim and offers to walk with him. He tells that he doesn’t care to walk with her and walks off with Becca. Rand calls Will over and tells that her parents are not coming. She keeps face and Rand tells that they sent her a package but Will walks away.

At free swim, everyone is getting into it. Piznarski tells Chloe to tell Alistair that he is sorry but she tells him to tell Alistair himself. Amber swims up to Chloe and tells that she is dumb that she didn’t know that Alistair was her brother. Chloe says that it is no big deal and Amber tells that she is a big dummy. Will tells Ian that she had a speech prepared to tell her parents off only to find out that they bailed. Will tells Becca that they should ditch Parent’s Weekend and do the Runes. Becca says yes but it is certain that she is not alright with it. Meanwhile, Rand walks in to find Joe on the phone in her office. He tells that Wayne stopped by. She tells that she has been calling him. Joe talks about Parent’s Weekend and Rand tells that Will’s parents just decided not to show up and that Chloe and Alistair have been keeping the fact that they are twins a secret and how bad that is. Joe tells that she has been keeping him a secret. She denies it and he tells that she just decided not to “tell” anyone.

The girls are watching “Love Handles” and Will keeps talking through the show and points fun. But when a CORE commercial comes on and everyone is skinny, Will is silent. Becca tries to break the ice and point fun but no one precipitates. Will gets the package and it is a postcard from Paris that says “Can’t wait to see you in this”. It is a CORE sweatshirt. Parent’s Weekend is underway and everyone is waiting for their family. Will goes up to Ian and tells that she is not looking forward to it. Everyone’s parents arrive and Chloe is waiting for Trent to introduce her to his family. But when his dad thinks that Amber is his girlfriend, Trent goes with it and tells his dad that he was right. Piznarski is looking at Chloe and his mom asks if he likes her and he tells her not to say that. Chloe’s parents arrive and she runs up to them and tells that she has been having fun. Her mom sees Alistair and sees that Becca is with him. Will walks over to Becca and asks if she wants to shoot some hoops and Becca tells that she is not interested. She is getting fed up with Will’s attitude. Chloe tries to say hello to Trent and he ignores her with a friendly hello.

Back at the cabin, Carter’s sister has shown up and she is very skinny and makes Carter feel self conscious. Amber’s mother comes in and Amber is happy. Amber introduces the campers and shows her around the cabin. She tells that she has to use the bathroom. Amber’s mother yells that she is on her period and Poppy tells that she will get her a tampon. Amber tells it has to be a pad because her uterus is tilted. Will is outside and Joe tells her to help him with the apples. Trent is in his cabin with his parents and they are waiting for his mom. He asks if Trent is working out and he tells that he has. Ian walks in and gets introduced to Trent’s parents. They tell that they have heard a lot about him. Ian’s parents are there and there is an awkward silence. Trent tells that they have a garden. In the kitchen, Joe is showing some parent care to Will and Rand walks in and watches from a distance. Her phone goes off and she runs off. Joe ignores it and tells Will to get supplies from the cooler. He shows where he hid the key and tells that he is going to have to find a new hiding spot. Rand answers the text and it is Jonathan says that he needs her.

George is leading a Yoga demonstration and Amber’s mom is talking while Alistair’s mother, who is in a wheelchair, is participating. She tells Alistair’s mom that her uterus is tilted and she can’t do Yoga. Amber tells her to be quiet. When George tries to get her mother into the demonstration, she accepts despite the tilted uterus. Amber tells that she wants to go back and tells that she wants to spend time alone with her mother. But back at the cabin her mother tells that her cabin is dirty. Amber tells she just wanted to talk. She gives Amber a gift and it is cookies. Piznarski’s mom comes into the cabin and finds Alistair knitting. Piznarski enters and Alistair leaves quickly. Piznarski takes a note from a book and puts it with Alistair’s things. Back at the girl’s cabin, Amber tells her mom that she can’t keep the cookies. Her mom tells that she doesn’t need to tell them. Amber tells that they will allow her to keep them in the kitchen. She goes to the laundry room and puts them behind a washing machine.

Chloe goes up to Alistair and tells him to pretend to like her and he says that he can’t pretend. Chloe looks at Becca and says, “Is that so”. Alistair opens the door for Becca. At the dinning hall, Carter’s sister tells that Piznarski is hot and would make out with him too. Amber’s mom tells that it was Amber who wanted to go to the camp and that she could never afford it. Ian’s parents are being nice to each other and Ian thinks it is weird. Will suggests that they went to marriage counseling. Poppy offers Will to sit down with them but she tells that she is going to skip dinner. Meanwhile, Trent and his parents enter a restaurant and Chloe and her family are there too. Trent introduces Alistair and Becca snd then Chloe but doesn’t mention anything about them dating. They get a table together and Becca and Alistair split a portion. Trent offers to split with Chloe but she tells that she will not and proceeds to order a meal and a side dish. Back at the camp dinning hall, Dr. Rand introduces Joe as her father to the campers and he is appreciative. Ian’s parents sit down with Ian and tell him that they have been going to marriage counseling and have decided to get divorced. Ian tells that he is alright with it but goes to the laundry room and cries. He finds the cookies that Amber stashed and is tempted to take the cookies but takes them to Dr. Rand instead and tells her to take them.

Chloe, Alistair, and Becca get dropped off at camp and Chloe tells that she should have split the portion with Trent and asks Alistair to tell him for her. He tells her to tell him herself. Alistair escorts Becca back to her cabin and Becca tells that it is probably her fault that Chloe has changed. Alistair tells that it is not and tells her not to worry about it. Amber’s mother asks if she can stay the night and Poppy tells that she cannot. But when she tells that she will sleep in her car, Poppy tells that she can stay. Amber tells that she forgot something in the laundry room and finds that the cookies are gone. Meanwhile Dr. Rand is in her office with the cookies and she puts them in a filing cabinet. She gets a text from Jonathan asking if she can come over. She replies with no. She goes back to the filing cabinet and there is a knock on the door. Thinking it is Ian, she shouts his name. But it is Wayne with tomatoes. Dr. Rand asks him if he could take the cookies and he wants to know who Ian is. She tells that he is a camper who found the cookies.

In the cabin, Amber’s mom is offended and tells that Amber doesn’t want her there. Amber tries to remain calm tells that she wants her to stay. She continues to tell Amber that she has had it rough since she left and that she misses her. She tells her to stay. Amber walks up to Will and asks her if she still has the stash and she tells that it is buried in the woods. Amber tells that she really needs something. She asks for Will’s help. Later Amber and Will sneak out of the cabin to go to the food supply of Will’s in the woods. Will asks if she really wants to do it. She tells that she does. They walk out into the woods with a “To be Continued” at the end.
