As Christopher and Ilsa leave Baldova in Ilsa’s private jet, they argue about Christopher’s recent actions where he ignored her as a partner and a boss. She insists that he can easily be replaced, and that Winston will be staying with her. Christopher is surprised to learn that according to Ilsa, Winston signed a contract.
On the ground, Hector Lopez fires a rocket launcher at the plane. The missile strikes the plane and it starts to go down. Christopher runs to the cockpit and takes control from the pilot, who hasn’t flown under combat conditions. When Ilsa protests, Christopher tells her that he’s their only chance of bringing the plane down safely. She accepts the situation and straps herself in, while Christopher and the pilot try to land the plane despite the fact that the landing gear is out.
In San Francisco, the others arrive back at the office, and Guerrero tries to get Winston to bet on whether Christopher will return. Ames goes up to the roof to write the after-action report without having to listen to them bickering. A private detective, Harry, arrives and asks when Christopher will be returning. A disgusted Guerrero tells him that he’ll have to wait until Christopher gets back the next day, and Harry says that he might not be alive by then.
Christopher wakes up and confirms that the pilot is dead. He goes to the back and finds Ilsa, who is alive but in rocky shape. They smell leaking jet fuel, and Christopher confirms that the doors are jammed. He jams an oxygen tank into the doors and then gets back and shoots the tank. The compressed air explodes, blasting the door off of the plane. They get outside and clear just as the plane explodes, and Christopher says that they have to start walking.
In San Francisco, Harry explains that the wife of an Armenian mob guy hired him. When Harry told her, she turned on him and told her husband that Harry was having an affair with her. The mobster sent twelve mobsters after Harry, and he can’t go to the cops because it’s bad for business. Winston and Guerrero spot the mobsters on the security monitors, and realize that they tailed Harry there. Winston takes command, and when Guerrero objects, Winston reminds him that he’s in charge when Christopher is gone. As Winston leaves to activate the alarm, Guerrero briefly tells Harry that Winston’s attitude is because of what happened in Bangkok, but refuses to clarify.
As they make their way through the woods, Ilsa clutches at her wounded arm. She tells him to stop saving her, and asks why they’re not walking toward the river. Christopher tells her that drug smugglers use the river, and he spotted a utility road. When Ilsa argues, Christopher says that it’s no place for a trophy wife. She takes offense, but then spots a nearby cabin.
At the crash site, Hector finds one of Ilsa’s discarded shoes and realizes that she’s still alive.
Christopher and Ilsa check out the cabin and realize it belongs to a drug runner. There’s a radio, and Christopher figures he can repair it and locate the nearby village he saw from the air. Ilsa finds the corpse of the owner, and Christopher takes his knife.
Ames has blown off writing the report and has doze doff while sunbathing. She doesn’t hear her phone ring. Angry, Winston snaps and Harry asks him what happened in Bangkok. Winston realizes that Guerrero told Harry, of all people. Outside, the mobsters break down the gate and start cutting through the freight elevator. Winston and Guerrero argue over who should have shut down the elevator, and then go to barricade the door.
In Baldova, Ilsa goes outside to use a first aid kit to bandage her wound, and Christopher notices that she has bullet scars on her shoulder. She rebuffs his attempt to take an interest and says they’re not friends. Christopher starts to protest, but then realizes that Hector is in the woods. He gets Ilsa to cover just in time as Hector opens fire, and they get back inside when Hector stops firing long enough to reload.
In San Francisco, the mobsters start burning through the freight elevator door. Harry tries to find out more about what happened in Bangkok, and Winston finally tells him that he and Guerrero got captured, and Guerrero managed to rescue them. Since then, Winston thinks that Guerrero is judging him when Christopher is away. Harry doesn’t believe it, and Winston tells him to shut up. Guerrero comes back with weapons and warns that the Armenians are breaking in. Winston figures that they have to fall back, and is surprised when Guerrero agrees with him. They grab Harry and retreat to an improvised safe room.
As Christopher works on the radio, Ilsa wonders why Hector is taking the death of his brother so personally. Christopher explains that even assassins are human beings, and Hector is waiting until dark so he can make a safe run at the cabin and finish off his brother’s murderer. As they talk, a spider crawls onto Ilsa’s shoulder. She casually brushes it off, but Christopher realizes that it’s a poisonous banana spider, and the cabin is filled with them.
Guerrero, Winston, and Harry take refuge in a utility room and start barricading the door. Ames finally wakes up and calls down to ask why a bunch of guys with guns are parked in the alleyway, and admits that she fell asleep. Winston snaps at her and invites her to come down and help them out of their situation.
In Baldova, the spiders become more active as the sun sets. Christopher gets the radio working but he needs to go to the roof to get a better signal. Ilsa ducks down and Hector bursts in. He searches the cabin and fires in Ilsa’s direction when she makes a noise. He closes in and finds Ilsa ready to shoot him. She can’t bring herself to pull the trigger despite having a clear shot, and Hector asks where Christopher is. Christopher drops down and attacks him. In the fight that follows, Hector throws some of the chemicals from the drug plant into Christopher’s eyes, blinding him. Hector prepares to shoot Christopher, but Ilsa knocks him into the cellar and guides Christopher out.
In San Francisco, Ames climbs down the ladder and finds one of the mobsters guarding the hallway. She tells Winston via her cell phone and wonders why they don’t call the police. Winston insists that Harry is their client, and they’ll protect him. Meanwhile, Harry suggests that Guerrero lighten up on Winston about Bangkok, and Guerrero feels that Winston is judging him. Before Harry can follow up on that, they realize that the Armenians have redirected a gas line and are pumping lethal fumes into the utility room.
As they go through the woods in the direction of the signal that Christopher picked up, Ilsa apologizes for not taking the clear shot on Hector, but he tells her to forget it. She wonders why he’s taking things so well, and Christopher says that she’s better off not having to kill another person. As they continue, Hector secretly watches them. He finally makes his move, but Christopher gets close enough to attack him. They both go off a cliff, and Ilsa grabs Hector’s hand. He thanks her, and then prepares to shoot Christopher, who is holding on below him. The half-blinded Christopher throws a knife, hitting Hector’s wrist. Hector falls, pulling off Ilsa’s bracelet in the process.
As they slowly choke to death, Winston directs Ames to the box with the gas lines and tells her how to shut it down. Guerrero disagrees, and they start arguing. Harry interrupts and they both realize they thought the other one had saved him... and Christopher actually saved them both without telling them. They vow to kill Christopher when they find her. Meanwhile, Ames shuts down the gas on her own. They decide to settle their differences, and Guerrero confirms that Ames can turn the gas back on again if she has to.
Ilsa and Christopher finally get back to San Francisco. They take a cab to her house, but before she can go, Christopher asks how she got her bullet scars. Ilsa explains that she grew up in Belfast and was caught in the struggles on the street. After that, she was sent to London for schooling and made something of herself. Christopher apologizes for calling her a trophy wife, and Ilsa asks about their professional relationship. She suggests that people might think they’re becoming friends, and then goes inside.
As Harry whines about being hungry, Guerrero pumps gas into a water bottle. He figures there’s a 50/50 Christopher they’ll burn down the building, but it’s still better than Christopher saving them. He then asks for Winston’s belt, and they start arguing. Ames calls in to say that she’s ready to provide the distraction. She drops a concrete block on the thug guarding the elevator, takes off her clothing, and approaches the mobsters. Guerrero tosses in the bottle, a bottle he’s rigged with a cell phone as a trigger device. Winston and Guerrero charge in and shoot down the mobsters, but one gets the drop on Guerrero. Christopher arrives just in time to take down the last mobster. He wonders what’s going on... until he sees Christopher.
Ilsa comes out of the shower and finds her bracelet on the end table. Hector is waiting for her, and offers to spare her life if she leads him to Christopher.
At the office, Christopher wonders why with all the things that happened, Winston signed an employment contract with Ilsa. When Winston says that he didn’t, Christopher realizes that Ilsa played him, and Guerrero and Winston have to explain to him that Ilsa doesn’t want him to leave. They’re interrupted when Ilsa calls and asks Christopher to come back. After a brief hesitation, she flat-out tells him that Hector is there and hangs up. Ilsa then tells Hector that he wanted Christopher, and he’s going to get Christopher. He starts beating her.
Christopher drives desperately through the streets to Ilsa’s place.
Hector draws his gun, but Ilsa grabs him and they struggle. Christopher arrives just as a gunshot rings out. Hector staggers back... and collapses, dead. A shocked Ilsa sits up, the gun in her hand, and stares at Christopher. He goes to her side and takes the gun, and then embraces her.
