Marshall Pucci - Recap

<-- Previous Episode
As Ilsa drinks, she remembers a year earlier when she talked to Marshal on the phone as he was driving through Africa. When he realizes that his taxi driver was taking the wrong turn and had locked him in, Marshall tells her that he’ll love her forever and hangs up.

Now, Christopher arrives and Ilsa kisses him. After a moment she hesitates, backs away, and leaves.

The next day, the team discovers that Ilsa is throwing a going away party and she’s leaving the agency and returning to London. Ames figures that it’s because of love, but Ilsa arrives and informs them that she has to manage the foundation from London. She thanks them for putting up with her and offers them a toast, and then quickly leaves. Winston figures that Ilsa wanted Christopher to ask her to stay, but Christopher disagrees.

As Guerrero leaves, he spots someone approaching and draws on them. The woman says that she’s Julia, Marshall’s mistress, and needs protection.

Christopher drives to the airfield as Ilsa prepares to leave. She smiles and goes outside, and asks why he’s there. Ilsa is surprised to discover that he’s there to tell her they found Marshall’s mistress, and turns to leave. Christopher interrupts to tell her that Julia knows who really killed Marshall.

Back at the office, Julia explains that she worked in the foundation’s medical program, and discovered that someone was using it to smuggle guns. Marshall investigated it, took photos as evidence, and turned up dead. Ilsa mentions the photo, and Julia explains that it was the last time that she met Marshall, when he sent her to safety. Since then she’s been on the run. Julia insists that Marshall loved Ilsa and wonders how she could doubt it, and says she just wants to go home to her family. Ilsa agrees to help her.

Afterward, Christopher tells Ilsa that the killers were able to eliminate Marshall and avoid detection, and that they’re dangerous. Ilsa wonders if he’s worried about her, and Christopher says that he’s worried about all of them. Winston gets a phone number from Julia where the killers have been leaving threatening messages, and she ignores Christopher and tells them to set up a meet.

The team sets up surveillance at a park and Ilsa sits with Julia. Christopher spots at least four men watching them posing as members of the crowd. Ilsa’s phone ring and someone scrambles her earbud. She answers the phone and the man threatening Julia, Bill Fickner, tells her that they’ll meet him at the back car of the local BART train. Winston tries to hack the enemy firewall without success.

In a warehouse, Bill Fickner runs a team of men and spots Christopher and the others. His men scramble their transmissions and cut off Winston’s surveillance. A bus pulls up to block Christopher’s view, and Ilsa tells Julia that they’re going into the subway for the meet. Christopher spots her and goes after them, and Fickner spots him. When Guerrero and Ames drive after him, Fickner has his men change the traffic signal so their car is hit by cross-traffic. Christopher approaches Ilsa and Julia, only to discover that two agents have taken their place. He easily takes them out, but discovers that he’s lost the real Ilsa and Julia.

In the subway, Ilsa assures Julia that she’ll be okay. Julia draws a gun on her and escorts her to a quiet spot on the train, and then asks what she knows about her boss. She boasts that she fooled Marshall as well and then killed him. Ilsa grabs the emergency brake and brings the car to a halt, stunning Julia. She grabs Julia’s gun and runs outside, but catches her boot in the track. As another train approaches, Christopher hears the commotion and gets there in time to pull her to the ground and let the train pass over them. They turn and watch as the original BART train leaves, with Julia still on board.

Back at the agency, the team realizes that they’re up against pros and they need to get out. Winston scrambles the cameras, and at his base, Fickner orders his CIA agents to move in. They break into the building and secure the area, and Julia arrives to tell her men to find Christopher and the others.

The team gets out via the fire route, and Winston and Christopher explains that Julia’s boss is a rogue agent, and he used Marshall’s medical program to ship guns.

Fickner arrives at the office and tells his men to start searching, and to track down the team’s family members and bring whatever pressure to bear that they can.

When Ilsa and Ames wonder what they can do, Christopher says that they have to run.

Guerrero leaves with Ames and he sticks to parking garages to avoid surveillance satellites. She starts planning what they’ll do in Mexico, but Guerrero warns that he plans to dump her. When Ames says that she doesn’t have anyone else and he’s stuck with her, he drives back to the office despite the risk.

Ilsa and Christopher hole up in a hotel and she blames herself for getting the team involved. Christopher figures that it’ll be a fair fight, and they need to find the evidence that Marshall had against Fickner. Ilsa says that Marshall hid it all from her and she never suspected, and Christopher figures that her husband must have secretly put the evidence somewhere that he knew she’d find it. He asks Ilsa to tell him everything about her relationship with her husband. She says that it’ll be hard, but Christopher says that it’s just him. Winston comes, realizes that he’s interrupting, and quickly leaves.

At the office, Fickner goes over the files on the team. Outside, Guerrero listens in on one of his hidden microphones as the CIA men bring in the several boxes on Guerrero. They discover that he has a kid and Fickner figures they can put pressure on him. Ames, overhearing, says that she knew about the kid and it’s cool. Guerrero tells her to take the car, insists that he doesn’t run, and goes inside.

Christopher goes over everything that Ilsa knows, and points out that Marshall hired a bodyguard to protect her but hid the evidence from her. She says that Marshall sent her a personal letter. Christopher figures that there’s something hidden in the letter, and she gets it out of her purse. He goes over it and points out that it was signed by a Mr. Ross. Ilsa explains that once a month, she and Marshall met at a hotel bar and pretended to be two strangers before going up to a hotel room. The bar was the one that Julia met Marshall at. Christopher gets an idea and asks if they always stayed at the same room.

Ilsa and Christopher go to the hotel and Ilsa asks for a key to her suite. Winston is running surveillance from the van and spots CIA men watching them. Fickner has tapped into the same cameras and tells his men to follow them, find out what they discover, and then make sure they don’t leave. Christopher and Ilsa go to a suite on the tenth floor, and Fickner realizes where they’re heading. He orders his men in, and they aim their guns at Ilsa. However, it’s Ames, wearing the same clothing as Ilsa and having gone to a different room. Meanwhile, Ilsa in Ames’ clothing goes to the real suite to look for the evidence.

Fickner tells his men to kill Ames, but Christopher drops down out of the ceiling and shoots them all dead. Winston warns him that more of Fickner’s men are closing in, and tells Ilsa to speed it up. She hasn’t found anything, but notices a painting and realizes that there’s a microchip fastened to the back. Ilsa gets into the elevator as Winston warns her that Julia is on her way. She ignores him, draws a hidden gun, and goes after Julia. Winston warns Christopher, who tries to get through to Ilsa without success.

Winston reports that Ilsa has taken Julia hostage. Christopher tells Ames to get out and keep running, while he goes after Julia.

At the agency, Fickner orders his men to check the surveillance when the cameras and then the power go out. He realizes that the team has returned and orders his men out to search the building, but quickly loses contact with them.

Ilsa takes Julia to the roof and demands answers, and asks what Marshall’s last words were. Julia says that Marshall simply got in the way and she eliminated him, so Ilsa prepares to eliminate her. Christopher arrives and tells her to hurry up and kill Julia because the agents are on the way. Ilsa is unable to shoot and breaks into tears. As Christopher holds her, the CIA troopers arrive on the roof and prepare to shoot them. Christopher tells Ilsa that they’ll always have Geneva. Winston and Ames, listening in, remember that Christopher and Ilsa leaped from a high building into a body of water.

On the roof, Christopher tells Ilsa to trust him. He grabs her and they jump off the edge of the roof.

Fickner hears the elevator coming up and grabs a gun. He shoots into the elevator only to discover that it’s empty. Guerrero draws on him from behind him and orders him to tell his men to stand down. Ames and Winston arrive to capture them. Christopher calls to them from below: he caught a gargoyle and is hanging suspended, holding onto Ilsa. When she starts to lose her grip, he promises that he’ll never let her go.

Later, Guerrero drives a beaten and bloody Fickner to the waterfront and handcuffs him to the car. He points out that Fickner has found his pressure point, and it’s nothing personal. As Guerrero walks away, Fickner starts the car and it blows up.

Winston promises Ilsa that he’ll get the microchip and the evidence to the proper authorities. Ilsa thanks him and says goodbye, and Ames gives her a hug... and steals her bracelet. Ilsa tells her to keep it and do what she wants with it. She insists on giving Winston a hug, and he promises to keep an eye on the others. Christopher isn’t there, and Ilsa asks them to give him her best when he returns.

That night, Christopher returns and finds Winston waiting for him. He asks Christopher why he didn’t say goodbye, and Christopher initially claims he forgot. Christopher admits that there’s no point, and Ilsa made her own decisions. Winston says that he’s scared, and Christopher admits that Ilsa is an impressive woman. He doesn’t see the point, and says that the plane has probably already left. Winston points out that they’re still hooked into the CIA feed.

Christopher drives to the airfield while Winston uses the CIA equipment to make sure he hits all the green lights. He arrives just to see a plane fly away. However, the hangar doors open and Ilsa steps out as they prep her plane. Christopher claims that he just came to say goodbye, and she turns and walks to the plane. He finally asks her to stay, and Ilsa asks if he’s asking because the team needs her or he does. He admits that he does and steps forward. The crew note that she’s already said she’s going to stay for a few days, and Ilsa sheepishly admits she has a few errands to run. She gets in her car and leaves, and Christopher says that he’ll see her tomorrow.
