Tuscon Is the Gateway to Dick - Recap

The scene opens with Ray waking up to someone knocking on the door. It is a delivery man and he has a mattress for him. Yael yells over to Ray and tells that it is a present from her. He tells her that he can’t accept it and she tells that he can have sex with her but he can’t accept a mattress. He tells the delivery men to take the mattress back and if he wants a bed he’ll buy a bed. The next scene opens with Tanya running into a hotel where Lenore is meeting with a prestigious possible client named Francis and she tells that she is not going to ruin it. Tanya tells that she is just as much a part of the business as she is and that she needs to be more respected. Lenore agrees to let her stay. They go up to Francis and Lenore introduces Tanya as her intern and tells her to get tea for them. Tanya brings back the tea and Lenore bosses her around again. Tanya snaps and tells that she is not an intern and attempts to get to the point of what they are offering. Francis is offended and leaves. Lenore is mad because she has been working on Francis for 6 months and today was supposed to be the day that she convinced her of paying for sex.

Ray is with Claire again and he has gotten back the flare in their sex and she is a lot happier with him. However, after they have sex, the phone rings. It is her husband Peter and she doesn’t want to answer it. She tells that he has been trying to go back to her and that she is not going to take him back because he left her when she was 7 months pregnant. Ray tells that Peter is trying to show that he made a mistake but she gets angry with him and tells that the argument is not sexy at all. Ray calls Tanya and tells how he doesn’t want to ruin Claire’s life and tells that he doesn’t want to keep having sex with her. Tanya is sympathetic but tells that Claire is unhappy and he needs to make him happy. The baseball game is over and Ray’s team won. He tells that the vans are there and Mike wants to know where Ray got them. He tells that he paid $400 and got vans since the school wouldn’t pay for buses.

Lenore visits Jessica’s home and she is avoiding her. Jessica walks into the kitchen and her mother is making a cake for Darby. Jessica’s mother tells that she needs to just relax about what Darby is doing and that it will be alright. She also brings up the fact that she is bowling with Ray and that it is not good to do. She tells that once you start bowling with the ex-husband, the husband now will go away. Meanwhile, Ray is cleaning and finds two bowling shirts. He washes them and Yael asks how long Ray is going to let her mattress that she gave him sit out for. Ray is waiting for Jessica at the Bowling Alley for their “date night”. She enters and Ray gives her the bowling shirt. Suddenly the kids Damon and Darby enter followed by Jessica’s mother and new husband Ronnie. “Date night” is officially over. They bowl and they have fun, all except Ray who is upset that his date night is over.

Ray is over at Claire’s and he is helping her put together the crib. He talks to her about her husband and how she needs to give him a chance to redeem himself. She yells at him and tells that she is not paying him for the psychiatric help. She is only paying him for sex. Meanwhile, Tanya goes and visits Francis at her home and attempts to give her a basket full of goodies. She accepts them and attempts to close the door. Tanya asks to use her bathroom. After she uses the bathroom, she sees that a Christmas tree is still up. Francis tells that after her husband died, it was just left up. She gives Tanya a gift and tells that it is not a problem. Tanya tells that everyone needs sex every once and a while and she has just the guy for her. She thinks about it for a second and Tanya gives her card to her. Lenore visits Ray at his house and tells that he is not being paid for giving advice to Claire but to only have sex with her. She tells that it is their biggest client and for Ray not to mess it up. Ray doesn’t agree with Lenore. Tanya pulls up to Ray’s house and Lenore is leaving. She argues that the meeting was supposed to be a 5:00pm and Lenore tells that the meeting is over. Lenore notices the sweater that Francis gave Tanya and she comes clean that she visited Francis without Lenore and that Francis seems like she is going to call. Lenore tells that she is disappointed and that Tanya has bad karma.

Jessica talks to Darby in the van and tries to tell that she forgives her for telling that she is just going from one guy to the next. Darby doesn’t care and attempts to leave. Darby takes the cake with her and Jessica asks if someone is having a birthday at the mall. Darby ignores her. Jessica sees a group of people standing in front of a fitness center and walks up. Darby is there serving cake to the girls who are protesting skinniness. Jessica sees Darby and she wants to know what’s going on and that the girl shouting in the megaphone is motivational. Darby tries to ignore her but her friends offer Jessica a piece of cake. Jessica refuses and tells that she ate a big lunch. They pressure her and Jessica tells that if it will make Darby happy, then she’ll eat the cake. Darby takes the cake away and Jessica runs away. Jessica calls Lenore.

Tanya is at her house modeling her sweater while Ray visits Claire again tells that she needs to give her husband a chance and that it is over between them two. She tells that Lenore told her that he wouldn’t talk about Peter anymore. Ray tells that he made mistakes with his ex-wife and would give anything to get her back. Claire asks if $1,000 will allow her to have one last time with Ray and he does it for $1,200. The next scene, you see Ray moving the mattress into his home that Yael got for him. He purchased it from her. He lays down on the mattress.
