| 1 :01x01 - The Beginning (Aug/25/2002) | It's 5am in the Austrailian outback, Ant & Dec come live from the camp to give us a "tour" of where the Celebrities might stay for the next two weeks; Self-styled 'British Battleaxe' Christine Hamilton, ex boxer & DJ Nigel Benn, comedienne Rhona Cameron, model Nell McAndrew, actor and singer Darren Day, 'Paranormalist' Uri Gellar, IT girl Tara Palmer Tomkinson and veteran DJ Tony Blackburn are the recruits - with no idea what lies ahead.
Ant & Dec explain the format of the show; For the first week, the public vote which of the celebrities will take part in the "Bush Tucker" competition. This is an event, which involves the celebrities being voted to do it. The public will decide who that person is. In the second week, the public are then voting who they want OUT of the jungle. Leaving the final two. The public then vote who they want to win - and be crowned The King, or Queen, Of The Jungle.
Tara faces some doubts before leaving. Since having a fear of snakes since she was 3, Paul McKenna the legendry hypnotist, hypnotises the once screaming Tara, into having a 9-foot python wrapped around her neck. Tara thanks Paul where she says she can sleep now, during the night.
The Celebrities are then taught basic survival techniques - including orienteering, emergency treatment of snake bites and wearing the proper clothes. Rhona jokes how she came half way round the world just for a pair of red trousers. Christine exclaims her delight of the trousers.
Ant & Dec talk about the first Bush Tucker competition. One voted celebrity, will take a shower. But with a difference. Instead of water, they will be showered in insects. Millipedes, Cockroaches, leeches and maggots. In succeeding, our celebrities will be showered in treats. Failing, and they will live on basic rations - a cup of rice and beans a day.
Tara is horrified, and can sense she will be the voted celebrity to do this competition.
The first sight of friction in the group has been stirred even before the game had started. During their training orienteering, appointed leader of the men's team, Uri, faces difficulties with Nigel, who tries to take charge. The men end up walking in circles, while the womens team arrive to the treasure first.
Nigel blames the others on their faliure. Rhona and Tony have doubts about the challenge ahead but agree to stick it out, as it's for charity.
Friends and Families of the Celebrities then talk about how they feel their loved ones will cope. Nell's friend has predicted trouble between Nigel and her, but Nell dismisses this and says they will both help each other with the exercises.
Ant & Dec finish off the night with the numbers to vote for who the public want to see covered in insects in the challenge. 15p from every call or text message goes to that Celebrity's charity.

| 3 :01x03 - Tara Takes A Shower Of Bugs (Aug/27/2002) | It's the day of recognising for Tara. Terrified by bugs, has her Bush Tucker Trial. Darren promises to sing a song to her if she manages all eight buckets.
Early in the morning she sets off to her destination. If she succeeds she wins the group a meal each (8 in total). If she fails, she leaves with a back full of bugs.
If she wants to surrender and quit anytime she must shout"I'm A Celebrity: Get Me out Of Here!"
She takes her place under the shower. The buckets start to drop. In a comical(to us) but also terrifying(to her) ordeal, she shakes violently and screaming "Get Me Out!". But she retracts this and orders Ant to pull the cords. She keeps going and successfully completes her challenge, winning meals for the group.
She returns with the happy news, sending the camp into a good vibe.
It's bush tucker trial voting time; A "snake pit" has been filled with non-venomous but biting snakes, with 8 golden stars placed amongst them. For each star recovered a meal is won. If all stars are recovered, every person has a meal.
Darren fulfils his promise and sings "Close Every Doors" to a now-calmed-down Tara. But after showing off his stepping stone talents, he gives laughter to the audience - but horror to Tara, he slips on a slippery rock falling into the river - twice. Christine is to the rescue and aids to the almost-nude Darren.
Uri is busy talking to Rhona about his spoon-bending antics, and admits he doesn't want to be known as "the guy that bends spoons", moments after boasting about that subject.
Noontime approaches. Uri, Nell and Rhona bond over toilet humour antics, and making Rhona pass wind. They then move on to the physical side of life and start to lift weight and spar at boxing with Nigel. Clearly impressed with Nell and Rhona's boxing skills, he gives Tara a go. But when Tara throws a pretty lousy punch, Nigel storms off - creating more tension while shouting "Don't be silly, I can't train you! You're hopeless!". Tara does an almost impeccable impression behind his face.
Nigel then discovers the truth behind Rhona's sexuality - she's gay.
The unhygienic conditions throw Christine and Rhona into boiling water - they have orders to clean the camp from today's leader - Darren. Most of our eight have been ignoring hygienic rules by not cleaning their dishes; attracting ants.
Nigel, now irritated at Rhona's revelation - since he's a born again Christian - yells at her "You're moaning!". He really starts to test people's patience.
Everybody, bar Darren and Nigel who are bitching about Rhona, are agreeing that Rhona was in the right. They agree Nigel is arrogant and think himself as "the boss". "It's his way" points out Tara.
Later in the evening, Nigel screams at Tara for being childlike at the river - she won't go in the water. Nigel then becomes two-faced later at camp when helping Rhona to cook. Whilst earlier slating her, he gives her a hug and says he wouldn't say anything bad about her.
He risks people food poisoning when cooking, or shall we say boiling, a whole chicken. He also throws this chicken in with the vegetables (Tony and Uri are vegetarians).
While Rhona and Nigel talk on their own, the rest agree Rhona is in the right - as Nigel is picking on her about her sexuality.
Ant and Dec travel to the camp with the Bush Tucker Trial results.
Whilst Nigel is pointing at Tara - as he thinks she's facing another trial - it is revealed that Nigel will be facing The Bush Tucker Trial.
Come back tomorrow, and see how Nigel will get on.

| 6 :01x06 - Uri Gets A Bug Or Eight (Aug/30/2002) | The show as usual opens with the details of what we are voting for a celebrity to do for their Bush Tucker trial. Today's is a tough one. A swamp, filled with leeches, snakes, insects, with awful conditions. And yes - our celebrity has to wade through it all.
But it's Uri's challenge today that is firmly on the minds in the morning. As a vegetarian, Uri has not eaten meat or creatures to be more precise for over 30 years. Tony pleads with Uri to think about his own feelings than the rest of the group. Christine agrees.
Nevertheless, he's set off for his trial crossing the bridge.
When he gets there he sees 16 plates. On one side is all the meals he can win, and on the other is what he has to eat to win these meals. Ants, larva, crickets, worms... and a few vegetables that taste diabolical. Astonishingly, Uri with his powers imagines different food he's eating and he eats all 8 plates. He's won eight meals - "I'm full already" he states.
Uri returns to camp as a hero. Everybody is surprised especially Tony. "I told him I wouldn't have respect for him if he did it," Tony begins, "but when he came back, I said I didn't mean it. But I do mean it - I have no respect left.".
It's not long before the camp mood is altered once again. And who's to blame - Rhona and Nigel.
Whilst Rhona is talking to Christine, she discovers the reason why Nigel has such a grudge against her. He believes she's a sinner, since she is gay.
Rhona says she doesn't want to live with a homophobic w****r which is over heard by Nigel.
Supposed Christian Nigel storms over and threatens Rhona saying "If you were a man, I'd knock you sparko.". Everyone could baffle over that line, but just goes to show he might not be as good a guy as he seems to be!! To which Rhona takes it on the shoulder. Darren pulls Nigel away to the river to calm him down, while Rhona in tears is being comforted by her best friends Nell and Uri. "I'm not into religion, so I'm not on anyone's side here." explains Nell to Rhona, "but the way he was threatening you was out of order."
Down by the river Darren and Nigel talk about Rhona and her "bible-abuse". Nigel evidently has a short temper.
"If you go," Christine begins to say to Darren, "we're left with Rhona and Nigel. If Nigel goes, we're left with you and Rhona. If Rhona goes --- we're left with a happy camp. It's the saddest fact."
Rhona asks the crew if she can sleep in the Bush Telegraph - the hut where the celebs go to find out information about the day ahead - since the atmosphere is unbearable and she is worried.
Rhona stays there for the rest of the night.
Back at camp, the arguments are flying around between the two groups; Darren, Tara and Nigel, and Christine, Tony and Uri. Nell has taken a back seat and has decided not to join any alliance (good on her).
Darren and Nigel vow not to talk to Rhona ever again.
With Rhona gone, the camp is quiet. They all decide to go to bed, just after they have a snake scare where a snake catcher has to come to save the day.
It's morning and Ant & Dec are ready to give the results of who's facing the Bush Tucker Trial. "I'm really nervous about this visit" exclaims Declan.
The camp, minus Rhona (still asleep in the Bush Telegraph), are all awake in good spirits ready for the results.
Darren will face the next Bush Tucker trial.
Has Rhon run run run?
Will Darren and Nigel ever speak to Rhona again?
Will Darren stop that street-style accent?
How will he fair in tomorrows trial?
You'll just have to wait..

| 12 :01x12 - Rhona's Last Curtain (Sep/05/2002) | Today's team leader Nell volunteered for the Bush Tucker Trial which involved riding a mechanical bucking bronco for three minutes. While the model was being swung around - in one of thee most funniest scenes ever, she had to grab golden meal stars suspended above her head by string. Nell took several tumbles but managed to grab all five tokens. Nell was so excited afterwards that she kissed Ant and Dec, before checking if the vigorous experience had caused a bit of a stink. She asked the presenting duo "do I smell?" Back at the camp, Nell said: "It was really enjoyable but the clock was ticking. I kept getting thrown off…I must have been pulling some right faces." Tara was gutted that Nell got carry out such an exciting task, as she had been itching for a good buck all week – just ask Darren!
With feisty Darren Day out of the camp, Tara has enjoyed her best day in the camp so far, claiming that "everything is perfect." Tara also lifted the lid on her amazing bust ups with Darren, even going as far as talking about the notorious written sex messages: "There was an innocent moment when I do remember writing on my hand ‘The day we get out of here I'm going to give you one in the afternoon'. We were both laughing our heads off about it." Tara then explained how her initial outlook when she first entered the camp had led her to misjudge people, particularly Darren. "I looked at everything in the first few days as positive. I thought this guy is such good fun to be with…and then he started to get vulgar and I took offence to it. And then there was the burping and farting. Every time he did that I found it such a turn off." The society girl did accept some of the responsibility for the fireworks that went off between her and Darren, saying that: "When I'm bored if there is an argument to be provoked, I will provoke it because it gets my endorphins going." "With him he was winding me up as much as I was winding him up and it was almost like if I was bored and irritable then I would sort of provoke."
The remaining celebrities amused themselves tonight by impersonating another member of the original eight celebrity contestants. Rhona led the charge with a tip top take on Tara. "I'm such a klutz, I'm going to have a lay down," said Rhona-as-Tara. The impression went down a storm but, let's face it, as a comedienne Rhona had an unfair advantage. DJ Tony charged around the camp in Nigel's old T-shirt affecting the boxer's famous lisp and aggressive tone: "I want a punchbag, I want to get home, I want to do the cooking Rhona, get out of my kitchen. When I was in the army we had a team effort." Two black eyes for Tony then when he leaves… Christine slapped on some make up to give her Uri's five o'clock stubble and amused the group by pretending to be the Israeli spoon-bender. As Uri she said to Tara: "It would give me so much pleasure to undo your brassiere." Yorkshire lass Nell sported a pair of specs and spoke in a delightfully posh accent to impersonate Mrs Hamilton. After 15 minutes the group are rolling around in hysterics. "It's all very well for Tara, Rhona and Nell, they were all impersonating people who are here," she said, before mentioning to Tony, "you and I are going to be in for the high jump."
The night ends on a happy note with two bottles of champagne.
It's earlier than usual and Ant & Dec appear to give the results of who polled the least.
Rhona has had her last call, and is on her way.
The argumentative comic admitted afterwards that she had been close to leaving the camp and the show last week after a series of blazing rows with Darren and Nigel, both of whom she survived in the camp. "I am vocal and I'm not everyone's cup of tea. I am an argumentative person and I don't take any crap from anyone. I'm not a nice little girlie and that tends to irritate people." When asked who she wanted to win, Rhona named highly strung Tara: "I don't care that she's seen as this posh millionaire. Down inside I like her playful nature." "Despite her background she came into this environment and she didn't give a toss about anything. I found her most entertaining."

| 14 :01x14 - Cheerio Christine! (Sep/07/2002) | The camp are in complete shock for the first time since arriving. Since blonde beauty Nell was voted out, the camp all reveal they thought she was to be the winner. Tara is now left with "Mum and Dad - they will drive me mental!" she says, "Tony is sweet and the perfect father-figure.. and Christine is just mumsy. But they will drive me to the brink of insanity all day - I just know it."
Before long, they receive word that they are all to go over the bridge for the Bush Tucker Trial - and they go straight to their destination, the waterfall. In the waterfall and surrounding areas there is 7 boxes. In 3 are stars. One star equals one meal. In the rest are booby prizes. After series debate of "Oh Darling" and "frankly my dear..", Tony is given the chance to choose who should do the trial. "Pick a hand - the one that has it, does the trial." Christine picks the stone hand. "Oh, I guess you'll do it" says Tara. Clearly exhausted, Christine only manages two stars.
Unaware, while they are away, their camp is brought to pieces by the production crew. Even the fire is out. When they return Tony is out collecting logs for the fire, and Tara proves useful (!) by finding a box of matches to start the fire.
The Celebrity Chest is to be found by Christine and Tara. And as usual they successfully find it. But when they bring it back, they think they've answered wrong. But they answered right. Instead of food, Photos of family (and pets) are there for them. Christine and Neil, Tony and his family and Tara's dog. But later Tara accidentally sits on her dogs picture and breaks the glass. Visibly stunned, she falls asleep.
Ant & Dec are live at the camp with the result. Christine has polled the least and is the most upset so far by the result.
When interviewed after the eviction, 52 year-old Christine denied accusations of being a two-faced stirrer. When questioned about the claim she made to Rhona that Nigel Benn was homophobic, she said: "Nigel said something to me, and if he now denies it, that's on his conscience." Christine, black eyed after a bash from a swimming challenge earlier, then rushed across the bridge into the arms of ex-MP hubby Neil.

| 15 :01x15 - The Final (Sep/08/2002) | Tony and Tara's final Bush Tucker Trial was a nightmarish compilation of all of the previous challenges arranged in one wild obstacle course. The remaining pair had to compete with each other for a slap up breakfast. But first there were bugs on the menu in the Bush Tucker Bonanza stage of the challenge! Next up, Tony and Tara had to plunge their hands into tanks containing stars and unknown jungle creatures. Both celebrities failed to muster the relevant courage for this task, and moved on. Tara refused to carry out the next challenge – a re-run of Stinking Swamp, but this time there were eels in the water. Tony embraced the challenge and crept into the lead. Then it was a case of déjà vu for Tara, as the pair had to endure a jungle shower of maggots. But Tara was not keen on a repeat performance, leaving Tony to the creepy crawlies. Unfortunately for Tara, this was the final blow and Tony scooped the breakfast. Later, Tara commented on the ordeal of the trial: "My whole body was shaking. The picture of those snakes – I'll never forget looking at them…it's the type of thing you have nightmares about for the rest of your life."
with an unusual calm on the last night - the final two take their last sleep in the jungle. One will walk out with the Title "King Of The Jungle" or "Queen Of The Jungle". But who..?
Ant & Dec are live to the camp with the results.
Dec: "Tara and Tony, it's down to you" he begins, "the public have been voting and we have received over 1.5m calls. So I can now reveal....................................... The King of The Jungle is Tony!!". Tony is overwhelmed and Tara is a gracious loser.
Tara leaves into the Studio where she reveals she is over-the-moon to even be in the final two as she was favourite out to begin with.
But it's back to the man of the moment Tony, who is waiting patiently. Seven familiar faces appear to congratulate him - the previous celebrities. Tony won 55% of the 1.5 million votes that poured in on the final day, beating runner up Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, tipped as the favourite to win by bookies. Tony said: "I feel fantastic. I just can't believe it. I didn't think for one minute I'd win it. To actually do it is unbelievable." When quizzed by Ant and Dec afterwards, the ageing DJ admitted to being flustered and embarrassed by Uri when he asked Tony if he got erections while living in the camp. "It might be a little old-fashioned, but I thought it was a little ungentlemanly to ask in front of the girls. I couldn't understand why he suddenly came out with that. It seemed silly and one of those personal things that none of us would answer on national TV." Specific Tony highlights include coining the catch-phrase ‘stop-a-doodle-do', and obsessively collecting logs for the camp fire.

| I'm A Celebrity: Reunion (Sep/21/2002) | It's LIVE in the London studio's with the audience and it is the first time since our eight celebs have met since being in the jungle. We see footage of what has happened over the last fortnight while watching our eight: the rows, the tasks, press storied.
But a surprise is in store - another Bush Tucker trial - "The Hell Holes". But an even bigger surprise is in store for Ant & Dec. Their names will also be included.
Nigel and Christine are first to be interviewed, to tell their story and their rows. They are evidently friends again, and Nigel apologises for the way he acted to Christine, Rhona and the public. "If I was Rhona I would have knocked me out too". The footage of Christine's stirring in Rhona's Buried Alive is played and Christine apologises. Nigel kicks a fuss after Christine still admits that he did call Rhona a sinner. "I'm not going to argue with you now" Christine says.
The results of how the voting is going just now and Ant & Dec are well in the lead with 62%.
Best Friends, Rhona, Nell and Uri appear. Rhona's "Sometimes" speech is played (See Rhona's Buried Alive) with a huge round of applause from the studio audience. 2I meant to say Tony's dreamy!" she says before going into her famous impressions. Of such is Uri's over-enthusiasm of... farts. With a question from the audience, Uri is asked if he was "frustrated" while surrounded by women out in the jungle. "Of course I was, I'm loyal to my wife, but yes of course I was frustrated.. who wouldn't be?!" he says. "I struggled with that too!" pipes up Rhona. Nell's Nell-isms are shown - you know, the ones where she says nothing. But she puts this down to be trying to stay out of the fighting.
Ant & Dec are now in the lead with 70% of the votes for the Bush Tucker Trial.
Darren & Tara are up next to tell their story - but soon the bickering between them begins. But eventually the calm comes when Tara reads her poem (see Quotes) to which a round of applause from the studio and a hug from Darren. "Not bad considering I don't write my own articles" she says.
Mr King If The Jungle, Tony Blackburn has his turn in the seat for his interview. Even he is confused to how he won. He also admits he still hasn't forgiven Uri for eating his bugs and diminishing his priorities.
Ant & Dec are to face the final Bush Tucker Trial with 73% of the votes.
They manage to win £8thousand, which means the total prize money is... £618,799.15
"Celebrity" is over.. But it could be back next year..
| |
| 17 :02x01 - Back To The Beginning (Apr/28/2003) | | A slow start to the second season - Ant and Dec show the first couple of days that the celebs learned the basics of surviving in the jungle. Everyone notes that the morale in the group is majorly high - whether this stays remains to be seen. The group vote John as their first leader and start organising their lives in the jungle. | |
| |
| 18 :02x02 - Catalina's Crocs (Apr/29/2003) | Catalina faces the first Bush Tuka challenge - Croc Pit. Its a simple enough concept, collect the stars in a water pit full of crocodiles.

| |
| 19 :02x03 - Wayne and Waffles (Apr/30/2003) | Wayne Sleep was voted to take on the third Bush Tucker challenge, Ant and Dec revealed to him the previous episode and now proffesional dancer Wayne Sleep must take on 'Rats In Suits' a test that requires him to search for stars while attracting rat's with his woffle-made outfit.
He was devasted when he only managed to get two star's for the camp, but the others congratulated him none the less. In the final part of the show, Ant and Dec revealed the public had voted for Fash to complete the next task, which would be taking place the next day.
| |
| 20 :02x04 - Fash vs Heights (May/01/2003) | | After a temporary rest from challenges, the public decided it was time that Fash was put to task again. Unfortunatley for him, the task they voted him to take part in, was all about heights, one of his greates fears. He needed to traverse a bridge suspended high above the jungle floor, which would randonly shift and shake to make matters worse, all this needed to be conquered while he collected as many stars as he could, he left behind only stars, which the camp applauded him for. | |
| |
| 21 :02x05 - Catch a falling star (May/02/2003) | "Catch A Falling Star" was the title of the next Bush Tucker challenge, and the celebrities didn't like the sound of it one bit. Apart from Daniella, that is, who was determined to take part in a task before she left.
Her wish was granted by the viewing public and she was voted to take the challenge. The idea was simple, catch a falling star from the trees above. But only, along with it fell a whole host of jungle nasties, everything from eal juice to creepy crawlies fell on Danniella but she completed the task happily. There was a slight problem when she returned back to camp, however, when she was told under no curcumstances to use the near by water pool to wash herself, the others were worried she would contaminate thier water supply.

When presented with nine sausages there was uproar.
All ten contestants argued with the producers in the Bush Telegraph before marching up to the studio in a blatant breech of rules. Anthony later admitted to being the ring leader but said the protest was justified.
| |
| 23 :02x07 - Anthony Diving Under (May/04/2003) | After three trials, the viewers decided that it was time Fash was given a break, passing on the dubious task of completing a task to chef Anthony Worrel Thompson. The task was titled "Diving For Stars" and Anthony needed to plunge under the water of a lagoon filled with a host of nasties including snakes, eels and many others.
He got several of the stars on offer, but complained that the time he was allocated was not long enough. He was congratulated upon his return. Sian, Wayne and Daniella all discussed the "Terrible Trio" the name they had given Linda, Anthony and Phil who had become increasingly friendly in the past few days.
| |
| 24 :02x08 - Bye Bye Sian (May/05/2003) | Sian Lloyd learns she is the first to have been voted off the celebrity challenge by the UK public. She exits the camp for a short interview with hosts Ant and Dec, and is presented with a short highlight reel of all her best bits from the week she spent in the Australian Outback.
Daniella is devasted not to be leaving and promptly visits the Bush Telegraph and airs her feelings, claiming she will walk tommorow. Sian's eviction sends shock waves through the camp, nobody expected her to be first.
| |
| 25 :02x09 - Daniella Westbrook : "I'm Off!" (May/06/2003) | Daniella Westbrook shocked the camp when she decided to leave after only one week in the australian outback. She had begged viewers not to vote for her so she could leave, but when Sian was evicted she decided to walk.
This show profiled her decision to leave and her exit from camp, in a minute by minute account of her dramatic departure. She was also on hand to give a revealing interview with hosts Ant and Dec about her time in camp and what made her decide to leave. Because she left, there was no eviction vote on this day.
| |
| 26 :02x10 - Corrie's Chris OUT! (May/07/2003) | The third person to leave the Australian outback was ex-corronation street actor, Chris Bisson, it was revealed in this episode of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!
He returned to the studio with Ant and Dec for a quick interview and brief look back on his time in the celebrity challenge. See what the meal is like tonight and if its lousy we can eat it [the crab]"
The Bush Tucker trials continued too, with Phil Tuffnel facing the trial "Jungle Slide". He was not impressed with his performance, however, but ever the optomist Linda commented "Well out of 6 stars, thats fine".
| |
| 29 :02x13 - One rebel down.... (May/10/2003) | Anthony Worrel-Thompson's luck was out tonight, when he was voted off I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! by the British public. He returned to civilsation for a quick interview with presenter's Ant and Dec and then was reunited with his wife after being apart for twelve days.
Viewers also had the chance of watching Linda take on her second challenge in which she needed to transport a variety of typically I'm A Celebrity... nasties including snakes, beatles and rats through an assult course. Wayne became further iscolated from the group also when he told ex-cricketer Phil Tuffnel that all cricketer's are homophobic, something Phil took offense from.
| |
| 30 :02x14 - Wayne Bites The Dust (May/11/2003) | Wayne Sleep became the seventh celebrity to get the boot on this years I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!. The gay dancer was voted out just before the final, but didn't seem bothered and proceeded happily to the studio and his interview.

In the final half an hour, it got serious with the voting result getting ever closer. The phone lines were forzen and Ant and Dec revealed the celebrity out of the race, with least votes, was Linda. After her interview there was just time to chat candidly with remaining contestants Phil and Fash, now fighting for the title "King of the Jungle".
Shortly after, all eight other celebrities were brought into camp for a reunion and to hear the news of who would win as it was announced by Ant and Dec, and it was Phil who won. Another interview with him and the words "Phil, your a celebrity, get yourself out of here" were the words that ended I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! 2003.
| |
