Gaz is the daughter of Professor Membrane and she is Dib’s younger sister. While she doesn’t like to associate with her brother, she is really affectionate towards her father and she often cherishes every moment that they have together, which causes her to become disgruntled when somebody or something ruins their chances to spend time with one another. Gaz doesn’t have many friends as she prefers to spend her skoolday playing her portable gaming system, in which she is quite adept at playing games and she thrives to try to get the highest score obtainable. Gaz is one of the few people in the world who believes Dib about ZIM, though she feels that ZIM is far too stupid to ever take over or conquer the world, so she prefers to just ignore him in most occasions. Despite her dark persona, Gaz always sleep in pink pajamas with wings on them and her room is full of stuffed animals, though due to Professor Membrane’s overprotective nature, she can cause her stuffed animals to come to life at any moment in order to ward off any intruders.

Dib is the son of Professor Membrane, the world’s top scientist, though Dib doesn’t get taken too seriously as Professor Membrane has publicly labeled him as insane. Dib is into paranormal investigation and he has devotes his life to finding proof of the existence of mystical creatures, though he also likes to denounce the frauds in order to convince people to focus on the issues that actually matter. When ZIM was permitted to come to Earth as an Invader, Dib managed to overhear the plans of the Irken Empire and he prepared to do what he could to stop the aliens once they’ve arrived, though he was dismayed to find that nobody would believe him about ZIM. Dib is often mocked for his conspiracy theories, though many individuals believe his head is freakishly large and that he is about as abnormal as children can be, though Dib constantly denies the claims and he feels that his head is just the right size. Dib is Gaz’s older brother and he is often asked by his father to look out for her, though Dib and Gaz typically get into arguments, in which Gaz is usually the winner.

GIR is a SIR unit that was assigned to ZIM in order to assist him with his mission, though he was created through the use of spare parts from the garbage, as well as some trash from Tallest Purple's pocket, which is the reason that he isn’t capable of performing many of the standard tasks that SIR units are capable of. In order to persuade ZIM to take him despite his obvious abnormalities, the Almighty Tallest told ZIM that he was a top secret SIR unit that would confuse the enemy in order to permit him to easily defeat his foes. Despite being a robot, GIR often partakes in the eating of Earth foods and he really loves Earth television, especially the Angry Monkey Show, though ZIM wishes he would spend more time focusing on the mission. ZIM has tried to modify GIR several times throughout the series, though despite what he says, he has grown fond of his insane companion. GIR can at times regain full control of his situation when his SIR components kick in, which causes his eyes to grow red and he speaks with a darker tone; GIR’s disguise on Earth is a green dog, which ZIM personally selected, as GIR wanted to be a mongoose.

Zim was once a high ranking official in the Irken military, though when he was selected as an Invader, he started to destroy his home planet in an attempt to prove himself as superior. It was for this reason that he was banished to Foodcourtia, where he would have no choice but to serve others for the rest of his life. However, after hearing that the Almighty Tallest were once again selecting new Invaders, he decided to stop being banished and he went to Conventia in order to convince the Almighty Tallest to give him another chance. In order to get rid of him once and for all, they send him to an unknown planet with a malfunctioning SIR unit, though Zim believes his mission is actually very important and he decides to do his best to make the Almighty Tallest proud. However, when he arrives at Earth, he discovers that the planet is actually quite horrible and disgusting; in which many of the people do things that just make him sick to his stomach. Due to this reason, Zim feels he should be able to easily conquer the planet in time for the Irken Armada, though things don’t go so well for Zim when a big headed boy named Dib shows up and vows to stop him from conquering planet Earth.
