Episode Quotes

Dee: (about Garbage Pail Kids) Are those those stupid cards where babies are doing disgusting things?
Charlie: Uh, no, they're the amazing cards where babies are doing hysterical things.

Dennis: (to Mac) There's nothing you can do about taxes.
Dee: Uh, you guys might wanna think about voting every once in a while.
Dennis: What has voting ever done?
Charlie: Wha—since—what is—why are you coming dow—voting?
Dennis: Who am I supposed to vote for? Am I supposed to vote for the—the Democrat who's going to blast me in the ass or the Republican who's blasting my ass?
Mac: You see, politics is all just one big ass-blast.

Frank: A woman in politics is like a donkey doing calculus.

Dee: There are plenty of amazing women politicians.
Frank: Name one.
Dee: Uh, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton?
Frank: Awful.
Dee: How is she awful?
Frank: Hates freedom.

(Dennis fires Frank as his manager)
Frank: This is a goddamn coup!
Dennis: Now don't it personally, Dad. That's just politics.
Frank: You look like a dick in that tiny jacket!

(Mac leaves after trying to solicit a bribe)
Gary: You want me to call the cops?
Morris: Not yet. I've got a better idea. Let's screw this son of a bitch.
Gary: Come on, Morris, we don't have time for this.
Morris: He called us nerds, Gary! Nerds.

Old Woman: Are you gonna take care of the crime problem here?
Dennis: Absolutely. I say we put 'em on buses and ship 'em over to Iraq, make 'em fight the terrorists.
Old Woman: (smiling) You're very handsome.

Frank: We have to convince this guy that that we're a legitimate threat to his campaign. There is nothing more threatening to a man than a woman who is smart and attractive. We have to pretend you're both!
Dee: Wow, you're a horrible father.

Mac: No, that's not gonna be a problem.
Morris: Better not be, Mac. Otherwise Marvin here is gonna have to take care of you.
Mac: Take care of me how?
Marvin: I'll probably stab you in your throat.

(Charlie closes the door behind Mac and locks it)
Mac: Did you just lock this door?
Charlie: Yes, I did.
Mac: You are going to hell, little man!
Charlie: Mm, I don't think so. (yelling) That's politics, bitch!

Dennis: I think you might be dyslexic.
Charlie: Read the script once!
Dennis: OK, you want me to read the script?
Charlie: Yes.
Dennis: All right.
Charlie: And ... action
Dennis: I'll read the words you wrote. "Hello, fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot." What? "Taxes, they'll be lower ... son. The democratic vote for me is right thing to do, Philadelphia, so do." This doesn't make any sense!

Jack: Are you trying to solicit a bribe from me?
Frank: I don't know, am I?
Jack: Because if you are, not only is that illegal and highly unethical, but you're doing it with the subtlety of a baboon.

(Frank and Mac's political ad against Dennis plays)
Mac: (voice-over) "When Dennis Reynolds was a counselor at Camp Cumberland, he was sent home for the statutory rape of a teenage camper. A vote for Dennis Reynolds is a vote for underage rape. Dennis Reynolds, baby rapist. Don't let him rape you, Philadelphia."

Dennis: What's the note say?
Charlie: All right, yeah. All right, uh, "meet." It starts out "meet" and then there’s, like, other stuff...
Dennis: (grabs the note) "Meet me in the parking garage, Frank."
Charlie: Yeah?
Dennis: Yeah! You clearly have a learning disability, dude.

(Mac confronts Charlie about wanting "to make Dennis disappear")
Charlie: All right, how do you wanna do this thing? Look, if we use a gun, we're definitely gonna need a silencer.
Mac: A gun?
Charlie: Fine, no guns, no guns. Uh, piano wire. OK, maybe we can use the piano wire. Look, whatever it is, I gotta be the guy to pull the trigger on this thing.
Mac: Retard, I'm talking about taking Dennis to Atlantic City for a couple of days until the election is over.

Cultural References

Dee: (about Garbage Pail Kids) Are those those stupid cards where babies are doing disgusting things?
Charlie: Uh, no, they're the amazing cards where babies are doing hysterical things.

Garbage Pail Kids are a series of trading cards. Each card displays a character whose illustration is a play on his or her name. For example, Frank points out the character Heavin' Steven, which displays a vomiting baby.

Dee: (about Dennis) How come he gets to be the candidate?
Mac: Uh, Dee, take a look at that hair. Kennedy hair.
Charlie: Yeah, and note the bone structure. It's like a young JFK.

John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States. He participated in the first televised debates against opponent Richard Nixon. Kennedy's calm manner and good looks (especially in comparison to Nixon) helped win over the television watchers.

Dee: There are plenty of amazing women politicians.
Frank: Name one.
Dee: Uh, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton?
Frank: Awful.
Dee: How is she awful?
Frank: Hates freedom.

Hillary Clinton was elected as senator for New York in 2000. She may or may not hate freedom.

Frank: (to Dee) OK, now let's get you ready for the ball, Cinderella.

Cinderella is a character in the eponymous fairytale. Her fairy godmother turns Cinderella's rags into a beautiful gown and helps her make it to the Prince's ball.

Visual: Dennis' gestures while talking to the old woman

Dennis uses what is known as the "Clinton thumb." His hands are closed in fists with the thumbs slightly pointing up. This gesture was often used for emphasis by Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States.
