The problem is that so much of our manufacturing has been sent overseas to appease the Wal-Mart "lower-price-at-any-cost" attitude. Birmingham Alabama for example used to be called "The Pittsburgh of the South" due to the steel industry that used to be there - but is now gone. |

so true. i hadn't thought of that. we now import so much, that if this were to happen practically all imports would stop out of fear of the worst. we would be totally on our own. |

Yes, to close to a real possibility I guess. (But just think of all the money Halliburton could make. ) |

haha yea Halliburton would make a killing. I have been feeling rather nervous for quite some time with the current state of affairs a few weeks ago I put together a small 3 day kit for myself and girlfriend and since then I've been fine, dont' really feel anxious or nervous. If you want I can send you a link to a small article I posted about |

I did pick up something odd when they were all standing outside the farmhouse. Emily said, "Let's go inside and make the Sherrifs something to eat" (approximate), but she did use "Sherrifs" as plural, which I found odd, having never heard it used that way. The real sherrif may well have known her, and vice versa, but she may not have been familiar with his entire staff. She is more likely to know him anyway, as the Sherrif must campaign to be elected to that office, whereas the rest of the staff are employees, not officials in office.

Bad guys.
I don't think it's right wing-wind extremists, at least not acting alone. Perhaps a combination of terrorists, Chinese, domestic extremists, and politically inclined enemies. I do think that there is a strong possibility of an inside job. Hawkins knew. Maybe Hawkins was in on it. Maybe he thinks they were cleansing the continent of an exploding population of people killing a planet. Who knows. I think it's important for them to assess the damage within Denver to gauge the level of destruction on the country (assuming its limited to the US).
