• Timetable set for final Kimmel show |
Going to Jimmy Kimmel's final, very hot, telecast from the Gem Theatre tonight after the game?
Here's how to get in and see Kimmel and his starry guest list headed by Sean (Diddy) Combs and Eminem, according to a show spokeswoman:
Seating for those with tickets will begin around halftime, estimated to be around 8 p.m. Audience members will be able to watch the rest of the game on monitors inside the Gem, a show spokesman said. There are no more tickets available.
The Kimmel production staff hopes to be able to start taping 30 minutes after the game ends, somewhere about 11-11:15 p.m. Overtime or other delays could push the start time back.
There's a disclaimer that ticket possession doesn't guarantee a Kimmel show seat. So a trip downtown could result in disappointment for a ticket holder.
The Gem is just across the street from Ford Field and crowd controls on game day will be more stringent. Make sure you have your show ticket ready to be examined by security personnel as you approach the Gem. And remember: Parking will be at a stiff premium, or even nonexistent.
Maybe you're staying at home to watch everything. While Kimmel has aired in an earlier (11:35 p.m.) time slot all week on Detroit's WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), his final show won't air here until after Channel 7's postgame special. The estimated start time will likely be well after 1 a.m. Monday.
