Huntress [S04+], voiced by Amy Acker
Real Name: Helena Bertinelli
History: The Huntress is a vigilante with skills and a background on par with Batman. She is trained in marital arts, and equipped with a collapsible crossbow and an array of special darts. Helena Bertinelli was the daughter of a mobster who, together with his wife, was murdered by his underling — Steven Mandragora — while little Helena watched. Ever since that day, Helena swore to take revenge on Mandragora.
The Huntress was recruited into the expanded Justice League, and served on a few missions. However, she was dismissed after crossing the line and attempting to kill the mobster Mandragora, disobeying J’onn’s direct orders to stay away from him. She approached the Question with the pretense of sharing information about Cadmus, in exchange of his help in tracking down Mandragora. They ran into Black Canary and Green Arrow, who were doing guard duty, and they all exchanged blows. The Huntress put up a good fight against Black Canary, but she was eventually taken down. After realizing that Mandragora had fled the house, the Huntress and the Question set out again to track him down. The Huntress and the Question found him at the docks where he was expecting someone. As soon as the Huntress ascertained that someone was Mandragora’s son, she relinquished her thirst for blood and left Mandragora in the hands of justice. A romance between the Huntress and the Question flourished from that point on, and the two start dating.
As the Question was being held by Cadmus after stealing incriminatory files, the Huntress kidnapped Jimmy Olsen and used his signal watch to call for Superman. Superman reluctantly accepted to help her and both embarked on an off-the-books mission to rescue the Question. They broke into the Cadmus facility where he was captive and retrieved him. They were stopped by Captain Atom, who claimed to have been assigned by General Eiling to keep the Question inside the building. While Superman fought Captain Atom off, the Huntress carried the Question in search for the nearest exit. Outside, she contracted J’onn with Superman’s comlink, and they were teleported to the Watchtower. There, he nursed the Question until he recovered.
During a stakeout in Gotham, the Huntress came to notice that Black Canary was acting sloppy. She decided to follow her and ended up in an underground fighting arena for Gotham’s elite — Meta-Brawl: Glamour Slam. There, she saw as Black Canary bested Fire in a closed ring. Afterwards, the Huntress approached her and asked why she was doing that. Black Canary, with no response whatsoever, started a fight. As she attempted to use her sonic scream, the Huntress elbowed her throat, leaving her aphonic. Then, the Huntress took Canary’s comlink and tried to call in the League, but Canary thwarted her, and as the Huntress accidentally crushed the comlink, Black Canary snapped out. Before she could ask what was going on, the Huntress knocked her out with a swift punch. However, both of them were then apprehended by Sonar and escorted to Roulette. The Huntress and Black Canary were forced into the ring to fight Vixen and Shayera, who were under the same mind-control. After these two broke out, the four banded together against a mind-controlled Wonder Woman. Upon realizing that they were no match against the Amazon, the Huntress and Black Canary broke out of the ring and head up to control center. There, as Black Canary struggled with Sonar, the Huntress engaged Roulette, who revealed to be a skillful fighter. Despite her talents, she was beaten by the Huntress, who then forced Sonar to kill the signal that was making Wonder Woman go rampage. After everything was sorted out, the Huntress and Black Canary sorted out her differences with a friendly one-on-one fight. |
