Doctor Polaris, voiced by Michael Rosenbaum
History: Doctor Polaris is a power-hungry and devious member of the Legion of Doom. He accompanied Lex Luthor and the Key in their mission to steal the Spear of Longinus from Blackhawk Island. He is a master of magnetism and can control and manipulate any kind of metal. He swirled Shayera around the room with her own mace, but was thwarted by Fire, who caused him to lose his magnetic charge by overheating him. He still managed to escape together with his teammates.
After Luthor’s took over the Legion, Doctor Polaris expressed his concern with the team’s future, especially because Luthor was constantly held up in the lab and talking to "himself." Doctor Polaris advocated a smarter and younger leadership. Luthor settled his apprehension by proposing a huge heist that would gross them great profits. It consisted in stealing 100 million Euros from a Kasnian money shipment. However, things went awry when Luthor and the Flash got their minds swapped. Unaware of this, Polaris, Sinestro, Tala and Luthor (Flash-in-Lex) went ahead with the heist, but Lex-in-Flash contacted their ship and warned them about the swap. The Justice League intercepted that transmission and sent in three members to foil the robbery. Doctor Polaris fled along with the rest of his teammates.
At the Legion’s headquarters, Polaris beat up Luthor, unaware that at that point he was the real one. He proclaimed himself as the Legion’s new leader and attempted to kill Luthor with metal spikes. However, Luthor overrode Polaris powers with his belt mechanism and declared that when he augmented his powers, he installed a failsafe to override them. The metal spikes turned on Doctor Polaris and covered him from neck to toe. He was never seen again afterwards. |
