Vixen, voiced by Gina Torres
Real Name: Mari Jiwe Macabe
History: Vixen is a member of the new and expanded Justice League. She has a magical amulet that allows her to summon the most characteristic traits of any animal, either being the strength (and weight) of an elephant, the speed of a cheetah, the night vision of a lizard, the agility of a gorilla, etc. Vixen is a beautiful runway fashion model, and also happens be John’s new love interest, which creates a certain tension between her and Shayera. Vixen fought alongside the Green Lantern, Superman, and Shayera against Solomon Grundy. She put a good fight, but was no match to a blindly enraged Grundy.
Vixen later teamed up with Shayera and Vigilante to respond to a distress call on another planet (which turned out to be an ambush laid by Thanagarians). At on point, Vixen was captured by the aliens, and so as to stay alive, she offered to hand Shayera over to them. She was obviously bluffing, and was exposed by the Thanagarian leader, Paran Dul. Vixen was then used as a hostage and Paran Dul forced Shayera to hand herself in. As she did, Vixen is dropped from a considerable height, but she is caught by Vigilante on the aliens’ ship. There, Vixen fought off Paran Dul, and with a swift kick, she threw her out of the ship. Vixen and Shayera developed a considerable serene relationship, given that both were determined to fight over John.
Vixen was also one the females Leaguers who were manipulated into taking part of Roulette’s Meta-Braw: Glamour Slam. She was forced into fighting Black Canary, but luckily she broke out of the mind-control device. Then, she, Black Canary, the Huntress and Shayera were forced to fight Wonder Woman. She put up a good fight, but if not for Black Canary and the Huntress killing the signal that controlled Wonder Woman, Vixen and Shayera would have had their heads crushed into one another. |
