Giganta, voiced by Jennifer Hale
Affiliations: Secret Society, Legion of Doom (Grodd and then switched to Luthor), Justice League Unlimited (temporary)
History: Giganta is a beautiful red hair and the most faithful follower of Gorilla Grodd. She was original a common gorilla until Grodd changed her into an artificial human. She also acquired the ability to grow into a giantess with proportional strength at will. However, the origin of these powers are not disclosed. She was sent to recruit the Shade to the Secret Society, a team of super-villains out to destroy the Justice League. Giganta matched wits with Wonder Woman and Superman, but she ended up being defeated.
Later on, she attempted to break Grodd out of jail. She even enlisted Bizarro's help, but both were thwarted by Wonder Woman and Long Shadow, who incidentally had the same power as that of Giganta.
Shortly afterward, Giganta became a member of Grodd’s Legion of Doom. She was sent with Killer Frost, Heat Wave and Devil Ray to retrieve a frozen Viking ship. When J’onn tried to read her mind, Grodd somehow shut her down and she winded up in jail. She was later seen again fully recovered, and during the battle between the divided Legion, Giganta switched her loyalties to Luthor and even attempted to crush Grodd with her bare colossal hands, in revenge for his trying to fry her brain. After the resurrection of Darkseid, Giganta was among the selected few who survived the destruction of the Legion headquarters. She fought bravely alongside the League against the Apokoliptic invasion. At the end, right before fleeing the Metro Tower, she kissed the Flash on the cheek. |
