Recap

In the 31st century, Brainiac 5 and Bouncing Boy take refuge in Legion Headquarters and plan against an opponent who has defeated every Legion member except the two of them. Brainiac 5 reveals he plans to use a Time Bubble to recruit heroes from the past, despite the risk to history. According to the historical records, three members of the Justice League traveled to the future, and now is the time. Bouncing Boy notes that only two of them ever made it home...

Episode Quotes
Supergirl: Well?
Green Lantern: Well what?
Supergirl: Aren't you gonna give me notes about all the stuff I screwed up?
Green Lantern: No notes, Kara. I’ve got nothing left to teach you.

Brainiac 5: I am Brainiac 5. Think of me as the black sheep of my family - dedicated to doing good to make up for my ancestor’s legacy of evil.
Green Lantern: And you demonstrated that by kidnapping us...

Bouncing Boy: It's a real thrill for me to meet you, sir. You're the famous John Stewart, father of...
Green Lantern: You wanna shut up before you create a time paradox?

Brainiac 5: We needed help, so we sent the Time Bubble to bring back some of Earth greatest heroes.
Supergirl: But why us?
Brainiac 5: It-- it was random, we’d have taken anyone...

Supergirl: Just because he's seriously cute, doesn't mean we can trust a Brainiac!
Green Arrow: I'm not getting a bad vibe off the kid.
Green Lantern: (to Supergirl) And apparently neither are you. "Seriously cute", huh?

Bouncing Boy: You know, Brainiac, being organic and having a heart – not the same thing!

Supergirl: So, what’s your power? Super strength? Speed?
Brainiac 5: I have a twelfth level intellect.
Supergirl: Great, you can knock 'em out with your diploma!

Brainiac 5: That was unnecessary. My belt protects me from any impact.
Supergirl: Maybe I was just trying to cop a feel.

Supergirl: Back on Argo we used psionic technology for our remote controls – when we lost one, you’d just have to think at it and it’d beep. Don’t know why we bothered – they were always in the couch cushions.

Green Arrow: (about Supergirl) Admit it, genius, you're in love with her.
Brainiac 5: Ludricous, we've just met. Moreover, as a Coluan, I'm ruled by intellect, not emotions.
Green Arrow: So in love with her.
Brainiac 5: Increased sweat glands production, shortness of breath, inability to concentrate, I thought it was guilt... but I am in love. How did you know?
Green Arrow: Just call me Cupid, junior. I never miss!

Green Arrow: I’ll be gone for a long time, so you two are stuck with each other… alone… for a long time.

Supergirl: What’s that?
Brainiac 5: A Legion Flight Ring – all of us have one.
Supergirl: So, does this mean we’re going steady?
Brainiac 5: Eeerrr…
Supergirl: Trust me – a thousand years ago, that joke was hilarious.

Supergirl: Nice ship!
Brainiac 5: It’s trickily no thrills, but it’s fast. What do you pilot back home?
Supergirl: Usually just a pickup.
Brainiac 5: A pickup – is that a type of star cruiser?
Green Arrow: Yes. Yes it is.

(Breaking into the Fatal Five’s hideout)
Brainiac 5: Shoot.
Green Arrow: I know. I was hoping they’d be out looking for us.
Brainiac 5: No, shoot!

Superman: Now, this boy Kara likes so much… does he have a name? (Green Arrow and GL stare at each other)

Cultural References
Training Simulations Room

The training simulations room may have been inspired in the Danger Room, the training facility with holographic technology used by the X-Men, which were created by DC's long-time rival Marvel Comics.

Green Arrow: No, that’s a job for Superman.

Green Arrow is paraphrasing the ongoing line in the old Superman series.

Bouncing Boy: It's a real thrill for me to meet you, sir. You're the famous John Stewart, father of--
Green Lantern: You wanna shut up before you create a time paradox?

The best known paradox of time travel is the predestination paradox, or the causal loop, which happens when the traveler is caught in a loop of events that "predestines" him to be his own ancestor, or to travel back in time or to cause an event that he was set out to prevent.

Green Lantern: Time travel. Swell...

GL's dismay about time traveling has roots on his first time travel experience in which he fought powerless in the WWII. Then again, he traveled to the past and immediately afterwards to the future, where he met his future son.

The shot of Green Lantern holding the smilingly dead Supergirl, surrounded by the Legion, is a homage to the cover of Crisis on Infinite Earths #7, where Superman does the same thing.

The closing credits feature clips of the upcoming episode "Ancient History."
