  Episode Quotes
Shayera: (about Fire) Why don't you just go talk to her?
The Flash: Who, me? Talk to her? No way.
Shayera: Yeah, you'd probably be wasting your time anyway. I hear she's...you know...Brazilian.
The Flash: Ha-ha.
Shayera: If you're afraid to talk to her, I'll tell her for you.
The Flash: Don't!
Shayera: You are so very sad.

Shayera: Why would you even try to move a prisoner that dangerous without calling us?
Warden: Maybe because we thought we could do our jobs without help from the mighty Justice League.
Shayera: And yet... here we are.

Warden: My people can handle this.
Agent Faraday: No, they can’t. Your people are good, Luthor is better.

Fire: You haven't said a word the whole trip.
The Flash: Buh...
Fire: I was hoping this mission would give us a chance to get to know each other a little better.
The Flash: Um, umm, something...
Fire: I understand - you're very deep in thought, mentally preparing for the battle. No time for women - I understand.

Shayera: (about the Flash) He told you to drop him?!?
Fire: He's a senior member of the team.
Shayera: You know he can't fly, right?

Shayera: Don't you ever scare me like that again!
The Flash: She loves me. She's like the big sister I never had. Only... you know, short.
The Flash: War Wheels, robot condors. You got a pretty goofy security system here.
Chuck: Yeah. Good times.

Chuck: Whoever you guys are, you've got no business being in here.
Doctor Polaris: Sorta goes with the territory - we're thieves.

Shayera: We going to do this the hard way, Lex? Please say yes.

The Flash: Now why is it you always find the Keys in the last place you look?

(Lex is holding Chuck hostage)
Chuck: (to the Leaguers) I’m sorry. If I were 20 years younger…
Lex Luthor: You’d still be ancient.

Grodd: The Spear of Longinus. Hitler believed that whoever holds it is invincible.
Lex Luthor: What are you going to do with it? Sell it to the highest bidder? Keep it yourself and try to conquer the world?
Grodd: I was thinking it would look good on the wall in my office.

Lex Luthor: You mean you recruited me, sent me to an island full of death traps, and up against the Justice League. You made me risk my life, and all for nothing?!?
Grodd: Essentially... yes.
Lex Luthor: (laughs) Monkey, I like your style.

Lex Luthor: I should kill you!
Grodd: But you won’t.
Lex Luthor: No – not today.

  Episode Goofs
The closed captions of this episode misspelled Grodd as "Grog" and Aztek as "Aztec".

The safety deposit box that the Flash pulls out is much shorter then the Spear kept inside.

  Cultural References
I am Legion

This title is a reference to a passage in The Bible, Mark 5:9: "And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, I am The Legion; for we are many."

The Legion of Doom

Although Grodd’s new Secret Society is never named, but given the shape of the Headquarters and its location in a swamp, it is supposed to be the Legion of Doom, a supervillain organization that debuted in Challenge of the Superfriends. The Legion featured thirteen members: Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Gorilla Grodd, Black Manta, the Riddler, the Scarecrow, Solomon Grundy, Giganta, Bizarro, Cheetah, Sinestro, Captain Cold, and the Toyman.

"Divided We Fall"

  • King Faraday: (about Luthor) We haven’t had a peep out of him since he was arrested for that Brainiac business last summer.

  • Grodd: (to Luthor) You melded with the computer being Brainiac. And at your moment of triumph the Justice League destroyed him.

  • "The Savage Time"

  • Chuck: (to Shayera) We met while back, ma’am. Longer for me than for you. When you traveled in time to World War II, you fought alongside my squad.

  • When the Leaguers rush through the Blackhawk Museum, right after the costumes display, there is a portrait of Vandal Savage from when he was the Fuehrer.

  • The closing credits feature clips of the upcoming episodes "Shadow of the Hawk" and "Chaos at the Earth's Core".
