In the mountains of Scandinavia, ice and snow fall off the cliffs threatening a freighter below. They are washed ashore and discover an ancient Viking longboat protruding out of the nearby mountainside.
Aboard the Watchtower, Green Arrow watches as J'onn J'onzz and Mr. Terrific monitor various League member on duty. Wonder Woman arrives in civilian garb and explains that she's representing the Amazons at a global warming conference as a favor to her mother Hippolyta. She's reluctant on her own and asks J'onn to go with her. He initially refuses, insisting he can better serve the team as a monitor, Wonder Woman senses something is wrong and gets him to admit that he wants to avoid humanity. She points out that he needs to mingle and leaves, but says they'll talk more later.
The Legion of Doom assembles for a meeting to discuss the fact that Lex has augmented the powers of numerous members, including Devil Ray. Grodd has a new assignment for Devil Ray and the others. He explains that in 10th century Scandinavia, Prince Jon was the greatest warrior of his era and was known as the Viking Prince. Eventually he met a valykrie, a messenger of the Norse Gods, and they fell in love. Odin frowned upon their illicit relationship and banished Jon from Valhalla. However, Odin promised Jon that he died a heroic death, the lovers would be together. However, Odin granted Jon invulnerability so that he would never die. Jon grew ever more distant from humanity trying to find a way to die. He sailed north and disappeared. Grodd believes the Viking ship is Jon's and his body is aboard. He wants the villains to steal Jon's corpse and have Lex reverse engineer it to give them all invulnerability.
Diana arrives at the conference in Scandinavia, at a structure near the Viking ship. She hints that Themyscira might abandon Man's world if the nations continue to pollute and contribute to global warming. Her diplomacy is less than diplomatic and she goes outside for fresh air. She finds another man out there, Agent King Faraday, the League's liaison. He's there as part of the U.S. Vice President's security team. He goes inside and the mountain starts to vibrate. Diana transforms into her Wonder Woman uniform and descends to the Viking ship. The villain team is working to free the ship and take out the security team guarding it. Wonder Woman arrives and takes on Giganta and Killer Frost. However, Devil Ray shoots her with a poisonous stinger and prepares to kill her for good. However, King Faraday and his men arrive by jetpack and drive off the villains. He pulls out the barb and they go after the villains, who are eliminating the security men. Wonder Woman reluctantly calls J'onn for support and says she needs him.
Faraday runs out of ammunition and the villains close in, but Green Arrow and J'onn arrive. The battle goes back and forth and J'onn concludes the villains desperately want the ship. He telepathically scans Giganta's mind and gets fleeting images before he collapses from a psychic backlash. Giganta collapses as well and Devil Ray calls in a submarine which grapples the Viking ship and pulls it out of the ice. The heroes get to cover and see the conference center starting to plummet down the mountain as ship is removed. Green Arrow boards the submarine and takes out the security forces, and gets inside just before it submerges. Wonder Woman descends into the ocean after it and shatters the ice surrounding the Viking ship. As Devil Ray moves in for the kill, Green Arrow takes out more men inside the sub while Killer Frost tries to escape. J'onn grabs her and takes her to the conference center.
Devil Ray attacks Wonder Woman, who is at a disadvantage because she has to hold her breath. He digs his hands into her recent stinger wound but despite that, she grapples him and puts enough pressure on his suit to crack his helmet, rendering him unconscious. Above, J'onn forces Killer Frost to use her powers to stop the avalanche to save herself and everyone else. She reluctantly agrees and starts building an ice wall. Wonder Woman takes Devil Ray to the surface and then goes back to the submerged ship. Green Arrow releases the grapples holding the Viking ship, but the remaining guards capture him. Killer Frost stops the avalanche and collapses from the strain. Faraday contacts the submarine and informs the guards that he has three submarines training missiles on them, and they'd be advised to surrender. They quickly do so.
Back on the surface, they go over what little they learned from Giganta's mind, and note that the same mental programming that took out Giganta also rendered Metallo unconscious when Green Lantern attempted to interrogate him. Wonder Woman suggests they lay the Viking Prince's body to rest in the proper manner and Green Arrow figures that they have a mystery on their hands. J'onn tells them that given how long he'll live, he needs to find a way to connect with humanity and he can't do it from the Watchtower.
Aboard the Watchtower, the League watches as the Viking ship with Prince Jon's corpse aboard is launched into the sun. Wonder Woman recites a poem in his honor. Meanwhile, the team wishes J'onn well as he teleports to Earth to begin the next phase in his life. He shapeshifts into a human form and goes out into the crowds
