An actor named Mikey Simon who is from Cleveland is recruited to join the cast of LilyMu, a show which used to be Japan's hottest series. The co-stars think he's wrong for the job, but the viewers don't agree with that and in a flash, Mikey is Japan's newest superstar and LilyMu jumps back to the top of the ratings. Mikey struggles to win over his co-workers, get an idea of what Japanese culture is like and look awesome while wrestling robot beetles.
