Released On: November 13, 2006 Region: 2 Production Company: Universal Pictures
Description: Michael Long (David Hasselhoff) was a Vietnam veteran and an undercover cop, who was seriously injured in the course of duty and thought to be dead. Long had been watched and followed by the dying millionaire Wilton Knight (Richard Baseheart) of Knight Enterprises, who saves his life and hires the country's best plastic surgeons to reconstruct a face for Michael- but not his own. Wilton arranges a new identity for Long- Michael Knight- in order that he carry on his fight against evil after Wilton dies.
The new Michael needs some snazzy gear if he is going to undertake this mission. Scientists work around the clock to produce a sensitive, computerised indestructible car. The resulting vehicle, Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT), is a black Pontiac Trans Am with its special extras- a cruising speed of 300 mph, the ability to leap in the air and more armaments than you could shake a stick at. The car and Knight adopted a strange love/hate relationship, with KITT chiding Knight for his behaviour, yet there was little doubt that KITT would be there to save the day.
