Knots Landing

Show Tidbits
This series is a spin-off of Dallas with main focus of Gary Ewing, a rarely seen brother of the main character in Dallas.
Some episodes of Knots Landing aired on BBC Two in the United Kingdom but the majority of the episodes were shown on BBC One.
With a 14 season run, Knots Landing is one of the longest-running primetime television dramas behind Gunsmoke and Bonanza.
Michele Lee (Karen Fairgate MacKenzie) appeared in each episode of the series, making it the second-most appearances by a female character in a primetime television drama behind S. Epatha Merkerson on Law & Order.
When the series ended, the cast reunited for two different specials: Knots Landing: Back to the Cul-de-Sac and Knots Landing Reunion: Together Again.
Both Knots Landing and the Wizard of Oz were filmed on the same soundstage at MGM studios.
Producers created the role of Laura especially for Constance McCashin.
Michele Lee (Karen Fairgate MacKenzie) is the only actress to have appeared in each of the series' episodes.
Gary's ranch is named Westfork.
David Jacobs, the creator of the series, originally created Knots Landing prior to Dallas. However, CBS wanted a primetime soap opera so Dallas was produced first. Once Dallas became a success, Knots Landing was revisited and produced.
