Spring has arrived in Japan and the promise of renewal is in the air. Koushirou Saeki wishes that he could feel good about the arrival of spring, but he's having a difficult time of it. His girlfriend just recently ended their relationship, yet Koushirou feels no sadness over losing her and he has trouble identifying why he does not feel any loss. However, a chance meeting with a high school girl shows the beauty of spring to him while the cherry blossoms blow in the wind.

2 :01x02 - Spring Lament (Apr/08/2004)
Spending an afternoon with a high school girl, Koushirou feels warm inside for the first time in a great while...until he learns that the high school girl just happens to be his younger sister whom he has not seen in ten years. She is going to be living with Koushirou and their dad now so she has a shorter commute to her new school. Koushirou's sister, Nanoka Kohinata, is very excited to have the chance to get to know her brother better. Nanoka also has the chance to make new friends: Futaba Anzai and Ouko Tamaki. Things seem to be working well for Nanoka. Meanwhile, Koushirou's life is being turned upside down.

Having trouble sleeping, Koushirou realizes that he still loves Nanoka more than a big brother should. Remembering a moment from his childhood, Koushirou washes up his old stuffed bear for Nanoka. Maybe then he can feel good about playing the role of big brother. Futaba, Ouko, and Nanoka discuss a boy that Futaba met on the train that day. She had been running late to school, but she still met this boy who was also running late for school. Futaba believes that it is fate that they met, but on the train did not talk to the boy. Now she must track the boy down and tell him how she feels.

4 :01x04 - Sudden Shower (Apr/22/2004)
As a wedding planner, Koushirou must look as presentable as he can to the clients. However, most days he wears stubble on his face to work. He isn't required to shave on those days, but must be presentable during the "getting acquainted" parties, one of which is about to be thrown. One of Koushirou's colleagues, Kaname Chidori, worries about him. Ever since Nanoka walked into Koushirou's life, Kaname has found Koushirou to be a bit depressed. Unfortunately, Koushirou can't tell anyone, not even his friend Kaname, about his true feelings for his sister.

After the events of "Summer Shower", Koushirou continues to stew about the night before when he masturbated while thinking about Nanoka. During the weekly cleaning of the house, Nanoka cleans out the trashcan in his room, which contained Koushirou's semen. When he finds out, Koushirou yells at her, telling her to never go into his room again. Yelling at his sister only makes Koushirou feel more depressed. He stays away from Nanoka as much as he can. Trying to forget about the incident, he neglects to remember Nanoka's birthday, which is in a few days.

6 :01x06 - Autumn Melancholy (May/06/2004)
Koushirou guilt about sniffing Nanoka's bra ("Summer Shower") is slowly subsiding. Even though he is starting to feel better, he cannot forget the way he has acted towards Nanoka since that time. The situation becomes more complicated when Koushirou sees Nanoka walking home with a boy, Kazuya Miyauchi. Nanoka had worked late on the Culture Fest that night and Miyauchi had walked her home. However, Koushirou does not see it that way and overreacts.

7 :01x07 - First Storm (May/13/2004)
While on their train to Nanoka's school and Koushirou's office, Nanoka is crushed between the crowds of passengers in their car. Koushirou grabs her and places her between himself and the side of the car so she won't get crushed again. The train arrives at Nanoka's stop and she walks the rest of the way to school. All the way to school, her face is flush red. Being so close to her brother has sparked a feeling inside of her that she doesn't fully understand.

"I love you, big brother." Nanoka's words to Koushirou the day before are echoing in his head. Just when he thought that he had put all of these feelings for his sister behind him, he now thinks that Nanoka has strong feelings for him as well. Unable to figure out what to do, Koushirou makes a long overdue trip visit his mother. In his mother's home, Koushirou learns of the life that his sister had for the past twelve years.

Koushirou has decided to move out of the house. He cannot stay under the same roof with a sister who he loves more than he should. Before he has a chance though, he is able to spend some time with Nanoka. Acting as a big brother for the first time, Nanoka and he grow closer.

Nanoka has expressed her true feelings to Koushirou, telling him that she has fallen in love with him. Koushirou, however, has told her to keep her thoughts to herself. It has created a rift between the two. Koushirou now feels that moving out is the only option. On his way to work with his coworker Chidori, he tells her his intentions.
