5 Gallery Images	Ernst Stockinger [Episodes 1 to 30], played by Karl Markovics As Ernst Stockinger, he added a touch of gentle humour to the Vienna Murder Squad. Initially he was terrified of Rex who sensed this and thus he became the butt of many of Rex's jokes. Stockinger was brilliantly portrayed by Karl Markovics, and for a short while he appeared in his own program. Called simply 'Stockinger' it was an offshoot of 'Kommissar Rex' and was extremely popular for the relatively short time that it was on the air.
