1 :01x01 - Last Stop Vienna(1) (Nov/10/1994)
When a bomb explodes in a rooftop cafe in Vienna a former Russian secret agent dies. In the ensuing chase shots are exchanged and the owner and trainer of the police dog Rex is killed.

Inspector Richard Moser saves a grieving Rex from being euthanased. Newly divorced, Moser is lonely, and finds companionship with Rex. However, when he introduces Rex to his two colleagues, Höllerer and Stockinger at the Vienna Murder Squad, he finds that some tact is required, especially with Stockinger who is afraid of dogs.

Eventually, with his unique canine gifts and amazing intelligence, Rex becomes very much a part of the Vienna Murder Squad and proves to be invaluable in many investigations.

When a bomb explodes in a rooftop cafe in Vienna a former Russian secret agent dies. In the ensuing chase shots are exchanged and the owner and trainer of the police dog Rex is killed.

When the owner of a restaurant dies suddenly of a heart attack, doctors who examine the man's pace-maker become very suspicious as to what actually caused his death.

When another death follows the first one, Moser and Rex must act quickly to find out who is responsible.

4 :01x04 - Escape To Death (Nov/24/1994)
When the body of a man who has frozen to death turns up in the middle of a Viennese summer, the Vienna Crime Squad quite rightly assume that the man did not die of natural causes.

Then when body parts turn up on the local tip, Moser and Rex discover that these are the remains of some refugees from the former Eastern bloc countries. A deadly trafficking in human kidneys turns out to be the gruesome motive.

Elderly ladies who live alone are vanishing from their Viennese apartments.

Moser suspects that the ladies are the victims of foul play, and when his suspicions are confirmed he also discovers that possibly more than one person is involved in the murders.

A prisoner who is temporarily out of prison while visiting the dentist under armed escort is freed by his friend. The friend is shot during the escape.

The prisoner has a case full of radioactive plutonium in his possession, and is desperate to escape and sell his deadly cargo for millions of dollars to the highest bidder. When he is cornered in a dancing school, he takes a class of young ballerinas and their teacher hostage. It is up to Rex to infiltrate the classroom without being seen.

The body of a woman wearing only a red fox fur coat and very skimpy underwear is found underneath a pile of leaves in the park surrounding the Schönbrunn Palace.

Moser and his colleagues initially suspect a worker from the nearby zoo, but fairly quickly they realise that they have the wrong person.

Men are being murdered in the psychiatric ward of one of Vienna's leading clinics.

In order to bring the murderer out into the open, Inspector Richard Moser volunteers to be the next victim. When things start to go wrong it is up to Rex to save his master.

Stefan Lanz is a member of a group of people who meet for sexual purposes. When he discovers that he has AIDS he decides that each member of the group must die, as they had had an unwritten code to confine their sexual activities to only those people in the group.

Unfortunately for Lanz, Moser and Rex are on his trail.

The body of a schoolgirl, Renate Wagner, is found on the banks of the Danube. Moser discovers that she had last been seen at a classical music concert.

When another child disappears under similar circumstances it becomes apparent that the murderer has struck again.

Richard Moser is at home with a broken leg, and while bedridden decides that it is a good time to catch up on the never ending paper-work which accompanies his job.

When some teddy bears which are all manufactured by the same company start exploding in toy shops all over Vienna, Moser leaves his bed and with Rex for company decides to do some investigating of his own.

13 :01x13 - Bring Me The Head Of Beethoven (Jan/26/1995)
The famous composer Ludwig von Beethoven is buried in the main cemetery in Vienna. One of the stonemasons from the cemetery is commissioned to dig up the grave and steal Beethoven's skull for a private collector.

When the stonemason is found dead in one of the graves, Moser and Rex are called in to investigate.

14 :01x14 - Under The Streets Of Vienna (Feb/02/1995)
Body parts turn up in the sewers of Vienna, and Moser has just given Rex a bath! Moser, Rex and Stockinger investigate, and with Dr. Graf's assistance a tattoo on part of the body positively identifies the body as being that of a man who had been involved in a bank robbery.

Rex and Moser end up chasing the killer through miles of the Vienna sewage system.

Moser arrests a Russian hitman named Karenin who is responsible for the killing of several businessmen. Moser's evidence is crucial to the case, so the organisation behind Karenin arrange to kidnap Rex in order to prevent Moser from giving evidence.

Moser, Stockinger and Höllerer engage on a desperate hunt to rescue Rex before the kidnappers kill him.

16 :02x01 - Silent Screams (Oct/19/1995)
A little girl is abducted from one of Vienna's favourite fun-parks, and is later found murdered. She is the victim of a child pornography racket and is not the first.

In a nearby hospital is another little girl who had escaped being killed, but who has been sexually assaulted and is so traumatised that she will not talk to anybody. Moser decides that Rex may be able to help the little girl to interact with the world once more.

A body is run over by a train in the middle of the night, and it looks like suicide until Dr. Graf discovers that the victim had been dead for over an hour before the train accident.

The Vienna Murder Squad investigate, and their enquiries lead them to a panel-beater's yard on the outskirts of Vienna. Rex takes an unscheduled ride in the back of a van, and Moser finds himself driving a truck while a nervous Stockinger yells out directions.

A young couple who are camped by the River Danube are found murdered by a serial killer who has been preying on young lovers in the area for some time.

The Vienna Murder Squad decide to set a trap for the murderer, and send Richard Moser and a policewoman to pose as a couple. Rex is consigned to look after them.

A German tourist is approaching young men in the Volksgarten Park in Vienna asking permission to photograph them.

Eventually he is murdered, found dead in his hotel room. The photographs that he had taken are the only clue to the killer.

Retired Detective Max Koch is given the job of surveillance in the Volksgarten Park and with Rex he uncovers a further crime.

A murder occurs in a hotel room, and the only witness to it is the hotel switchboard operator who overhears the murderer's voice on the telephone.

With her life in danger, Rex is consigned to act as bodyguard while Moser and Stockinger visit neighbouring Slovakia to investigate further evidence.

Two young men stage a robbery which goes wrong, with one of them being killed. The survivor had been arrested by Moser years earlier for a similar offence, and is carrying a grudge.

Four young women have been murdered in satanic rituals by a new cult in Vienna.

Their next victim, a young woman called Anna, seeks assistance from Moser, staying the night at his home for reasons of safety. However, even here she, Moser and Rex all find themselves under threat from the deadly members of the cult.

It is left to Stockinger's 'sixth sense' to save the day.

A Professor of Veterinary Science and committed animal rights activitist is murdered on the train by means of a deadly injection which causes heart failure.

At first his wife comes under suspicion, but when Moser finds a small beagle dog who has been used for experimental purposes for a new drug he finds himself suspecting a different person altogether.

A grocery shop owner is found shot dead at the Naschmarkt in Vienna. When a second victim turns up a bit later, Moser goes underground as a store holder - with Rex and Stockinger's help, of course.

29 :02x14 - Over The Rooftops Of Vienna (Feb/15/1996)
The body of a woman is found burned out of all recognition after her car is found at the foot of a cliff.

After a second victim is found Stockinger conducts some enquiries in a brothel, taking Rex with him as a chaperone and also for protection, and Richard Moser engages the services of the scientific division of the Vienna Murder Squad, who, using the latest technology and ably assisted by Dr. Graf, are able to build up a composite picture of what the dead woman looked like.

30 :02x15 - Stocki's Last Case (Feb/22/1996)
Two vicious murders take place, both involving professional women - one a judge, the other a doctor. Both have their throats cut by a razor, and Moser concludes that the modus operandi is identical in both cases.

At the end of this particular case, Moser, Rex , Höllerer and Koch bid a sad farewell to Stockinger who, at his own request , has decided to move to Salzburg to be with his wife who has inherited her father's dental practice in the town.

A young man is killed while drag racing with a group of friends, and it turns out that the death is not accidental.

When the man who had caused his death is also found murdered, Moser and Rex become involved in a murder investigation, and Moser meets his new partner who is a total contrast to Stockinger.

When a young woman collapses and dies suddenly at a skating rink in Vienna, enquiries reveal that her canned softdrink has been laced with cyanide.

Moser and Rex investigate, but there is another murder committed using the same modus operandi. It seems that an extortionist is at work and Moser and the Murder Squad must work against the clock before anybody else is killed.

A female photographer on assignment in a museum in Vienna finds a small bag full of priceless diamonds stuffed into the back of one of the exhibits, a large bear. She decides to keep the diamonds for herself, but then a man is killed, falling to his death from the natural history section of the museum.

Murder is suspected, and Moser and Rex are called in. Rex must pose as a still-life exhibit, while Höllerer also goes undercover.

A repressed young man falls in love with a female criminal, and decides to help her escape from gaol.

During the escape, he kills one of the guards and later holds up the prison van which is escorting the female criminal to gaol.

During the subsequent investigation, Moser and Rex track down the woman criminal and arrest her, but the obsessed young man kidnaps somebody else and things nearly go terribly wrong for Moser and his team.

When the daughter of a prominent Viennese lawyer dies of a heroin overdose, Moser becomes suspicious after Dr. Graf points out to him that there are inconsistencies in her death which point to murder, and not to suicide as had been suspected.

Moser and Rex investigate and find that the girl has a murky past.

A young man who has a doll shop has an obsession about women and dolls; he manipulates his young women customers into posing as 'dolls', and then he murders them.

Moser and Rex must expose this man before he goes completely beserk and murders the little girl who lives opposite who has been a witness to one of his crimes.

It is the 23rd December and Markus and Tommy are at an ice skating rink. Markus' greatest wish is for his estranged mother and father to come together for Christmas, so he changes places with Tommy and goes off to see his mother.

Tommy is mistakenly identified as Markus and is subsequently kidnapped. Markus decides that he owes it to his best friend to hunt down the kidnappers and rescue him.

Things do not go according to plan, however, although both boys acquit themselves heroically. It is left to Rex, Moser and the Vienna Murder Squad to come to the rescue.

When the prisoner leaves, it is Rex who tracks him down before he manages to blow up a kindergarten with high explosives.

The baby of a famous opera singer is kidnapped from a hotel room. The kidnappers contact the police and demand a large ransom for the safe return of the child.

Brandtner's plans for thwarting the kidnappers fall apart, and he must rely on Rex's canine abilities to catch the perpetrators of this crime.

Several young women are murdered, and the only thing which Brandtner and the team find that they have in common is that each girl received an anonymous obscene telephone call. The Vienna Murder Squad have a recording of the murderer's voice, and for quite a long time this is the only evidence available to them.

While giving evidence, one of the witnesses observes Rex playing with a toy which had been given to him by the daughter of one of the victims. This jogs her memory, and she is able to provide information which helps to solve the case. Rex's incredible sense of hearing also helps to bring the murderer to justice.

An ice-hockey player suddenly collapses and dies after a medical check up. A doctor discovers that he has a large scratch on his shoulder, becomes suspicious and notifies Brandtner. It appears that the young man had died of a diabetic coma, brought about by low blood sugar levels.

Brandtner and Böck discover that the victim had been carrying a syringe containing insulin hidden in his protective clothing. One of his team mates, who appears to be the only person with a motive, becomes the chief suspect. However, on further investigation Brandtner discovers that the victim had been having an affair with his manager.

The cremated remains of a body appear to be that of Paul Tomek, a man who had served a prison sentence for a hit and run offence some time earlier.

Brandtner and the Vienna Murder Squad locate a man whom they believe is Paul's twin brother, Hans Tomek. Hans claims to be an American stockbroker, but Brandtner becomes suspicious when some of the things which he says don't add up.

When another body turns up, Brandtner's suspicions about Paul Tomek are confirmed.

A series of murders has the Vienna Murder Squad puzzled, as they appear to be linked in some way. The murderer's calling card left at each scene of crime is always a tarot card which indicates the mode of death.

When a well known fortune teller's fingerprints turn up on the tarot cards, she becomes chief suspect. Further enquiries by Brandtner and the team reveal that the murders were an act of revenge and the fortune teller is the next intended victim.

A serial killer is stalking women on nights when the moon is full, killing them and cutting off their hair with a razor, and then dumping the bodies at local cemeteries.

Brandtner has a suspect whom he arrests. However, he soon finds that the latest murder in the series differs from the rest.

Martin Hanusch is a bank robber who managed to disappear after a job and who is presumed to be dead by the authorities.

Herbert Waltz, a retired Police Officer who had worked with Kunz in the Robberies Section of the Vienna Polizei is shot and killed by Hanusch, and thus he (Hanusch) comes to the attention of the Vienna Murder Squad.

Hanusch is in Vienna to rescue his girlfriend Claudia, a former bank clerk who had worked with him on his last job but who is now serving time in prison. Hanusch, working in the catacombs below Vienna, is digging a tunnel into the prison. When Brandtner discovers this, Rex becomes Hanusch's particular target.

Tina and Klaus Kainz are a young couple who use internet chat rooms in order to find single men for group sex.

When one of their clients makes a derogatory remark to Klaus during a sexual encounter, Klaus loses his temper and kills the man. Later he kills another man who is attempting to blackmail him.

Brandtner, Böck and Kunz go online and pretend to be interested clients in an effort to track down the killer, and later all three experience several unusual sexual encounters. It is left to Rex to salvage the remaining piece of evidence which puts the killer behind bars.

Many years earlier, Count von Reichenberg illegally attained the secret to eternal youth from a monastery in Tibet. A museum in Vienna is exhibiting some of his books and papers, and in this exhibition the old secret lies. His descendant, the aristocraticFelix Nordegg knows where to look, but before he can unearth his discovery he is murdered by a couple of young men who are after the secret for themselves.

Brandtner, Rex and the Vienna Murder Squad conduct enquiries and Rex has an unusual encounter with a Tibetan priest who wishes to return the secret to the monastery in Tibet where it belongs.

84 :06x12 - The Million Dollar Horse (May/03/2000)
Sirius is an extremely valuable show jumper who not only wins a fortune on the show circuit but is also able to command huge stud fees. While his owner is away, Sirius's trainer Arthur Stein employs some inhumane training methods which result in the death of the horse. A stable lad, Josef Swoboda, witnesses Stein's cruel treatment of the horse, and is killed by Stein's intellectually handicapped brother Gerhard.

In an effort to recoup some of their losses, Stein uses a 'ring-in' for Sirius and this successfully fools the insurance company's Veterinary Surgeon. A fake kidnapping of 'Sirius' is then staged.

Brandtner, Böck, Kunz and Rex are called in when the body of the stable boy Josef is found in a nearby field. During the course of the investigation, Kunz goes undercover as a stable boy at the stud from which Sirius has gone missing.

When journalist and author Klaus Amsteiner is found murdered, his death appears to be linked to some information he had obtained regarding the illegal weapons trade.

When male nurse Fritz Posch is also murdered, Brandtner and the team realise that the two murders are linked. A female nurse who had been a friend of Fritz Posch realises that she has some very dangerous knowledge and that she is being followed. Brandtner and Rex must act quickly before another murder takes place.

Stolen babies are being smuggled from Italy into Austria by truck, and are being sold to rich childless couples. When a baby dies of suffocation in one of the trucks, one of the smugglers suffers pangs of remorse and, after leaving the baby's body in a church, he decides that he wishes to leave the criminal syndicate.

Meanwhile, the Vienna Polizei have discovered the baby's body and Dr. Graf, by means of forensic testing, has discovered the nationality of the baby. Brandtner, Böck and Rex conduct enquiries but are frustrated at every turn until another death occurs, which in turn leads them to the identity of the culprits.

A professional photographer becomes obsessed with filming dead animals, and soon his obsession moves on to embrace the photographing of dead girls. After luring the young women to his studio, he kills them, hiding their bodies in his freezer.

When the disappearances are reported to Brandtner he makes enquiries, and fairly soon has evidence which points to the photographer. But will the evidence be sufficient for a conviction? Brandtner and the Vienna Murder Squad must make certain that their case is absolutely water tight before making an arrest.

During a bank robbery, one of the staff is shot dead and the Bank Manager is abducted at gun point by the thief.

Brandtner finds many elements baffling about this case. When it appears that the Bank Manager has been murdered his suspicions fall on the Manager's wife who has a lover and a motive to commit murder.

But are things quite what they seem? This puzzling mystery for the Vienna Polizei ends in a dramatic chase and a clever arrest by Rex himself.

A young woman working as a prostitute obtains some share market information from one of her clients, information which is extremely valuable to her. However, by giving her the information the client, who is one of the directors of an investment company, is sacrificing the profits of his takeover of a mineral water company.

The other director of the company tells the client to deal with the girl permanently, and when her body is found Brandtner and the team investigate.

90 :07x06 - Deadly Test (May/02/2001)
A body is found inside a lift in a large building, apparently the victim of a random act of rage. Hard on the heels of this murder comes a second, the usher at a cinema complex being found slumped in his seat with fatal head injuries.

Brandtner and the team make enquiries, and when a further two crimes of a similar nature take place he believes that he has a serial killer on his hands. But something about the evidence indicates that more than one person is involved in these apparently random murders.

Enquiries lead Brandtner to a medical centre where drugs are being tested on young students.

91 :07x07 - Obsessed (May/09/2001)
Xaver Stoll is addicted to the erotic novels of Tina Hecht, and concocts an elaborate plan to abduct her and enact some of the fantasies which she has written about in her novels for real.

Tina Hecht has moved from her old address and Stoll kills the new tenant, Gabriele Schranz, while trying to abduct her in the mistaken belief that she is Tina. Gabriele's boyfriend comes under suspicion for a short while, but it isn't long before Brandtner and the team get a lead on Stoll. Before they can capture him, however, he manages to kidnap Tina and imprison her in a cage surrounded by electrified flooring.

92 :07x08 - The Girl And The Murderer (May/16/2001)
Fred Kolar is a schizophrenic who murdered a fellow student years earlier, setting fire to the body in order to conceal his crime.

After receiving psychiatric treatment, he is deemed to be cured, and moves in with his parents. During a domestic argument, Fred again commits murder using the same modus operandi of fire to conceal his crime. However, he is observed in the act by Jennifer, a young girl whom he seizes and holds hostage, intending to kill her if things do not go according to plan.

Brandtner, Rex and the other members of the Vienna Polizei must act quickly if they are to find the girl in time.

When top model Marc Reinhardt is found stabbed to death in his apartment, Brandtner suspects that the motive is jealousy.

After performing a post mortem on the body, Dr. Graf discovers that before being stabbed, somebody had poisoned the victim. It seems that Marc Reinhardt is a man with many enemies, and Brandtner, Böck, Kunz and Rex must discover who the murderer is by a process of elimination.

Rex finds that he has a talent for fashion in this episode, and struts his stuff on the catwalk while Brandtner conducts the investigation.

Michou Lang is the latest big thing in the pop world, and the fame has gone to her head. After ditching two former partners she has teamed up with her manager, but is behaving like a prima donna.

Leaving the studios one night, her car catches fire and explodes, incinerating Michou.

Brandtner and the team investigate, and discover that it is probable that a laser was used to ignite the car.

Two new members of the Vienna Polizei team up with Rex - Marc Hoffmann and Niki Herzog. By a coincidence, Mark and Niki meet before they actually commence work for the Vienna Polizei and a romance develops between the two.

Their first case involves the investigation into the murder of a young couple who had been parked in a lovers' lane situation. Niki and Marc go undercover with Rex keeping a lookout, and eventually the murderer is brought to justice.

Bernard Baumann, a private bank owner, is murdered by an intruder into his home. Niki and Marc interview the dead man's sister, but she is unable to assist them in any way.

Following a lead, Niki gets a job as a prostitute in a bar where she meets up with a notorious receiver of stolen goods who is able to lead them to the perpetrators of the crime.

When a floppy disc containing all the evidence is dropped under a tram by one of the persons involved, it is Rex who saves the day.

Two young men attempt to climb to the top of the Vienna Town Hall. One of them, a professional climber, mysteriously loses his grip and dies in a fall.

The Vienna Murder Squad are called in when it becomes apparent that the dead man's body contains traces of a poison which would have paralysed his muscles. When a further murder attempt is made against another climber Niki and Marc realise that they are dealing with a madman.

In between investigating this murder Rex and Marc discover that Rex has to undergo a vigorous test to reassess his abilities as a police dog; they discover that the Sergeant in charge has built a formidable obstacle course which no normal dog would ever get through.

When Claudia Vogler is murdered at home the only witness to the event is a small stray dog whom she had picked up off the street.

The Vienna Polizei suspect her boyfriend at first because he has no alibi for the time of the murder but he does not remember committing the crime, and Niki and Marc are not convinced that he is the culprit. Kunz does a bit of nifty detective work and aided by Rex the real culprit is brought to justice.

Dr. Hensch, a psychotherapist, and a teenage girl are found dead under similar circumstances. The deaths link to a website called 'Black Sun: The Suicide Forum'.

The Forum is anonymous, and gives disturbed teenagers the means to successfully commit suicide. One of the members of the forum is being investigated by Marc and Niki who discover that a mass suicide is being planned.

Gerhard Kostial's only real love is guns and the power which they give him. When a member of the Vienna Polizei confiscates his gun licence and asks him to hand in his guns Kostial kills the Officer at his desk.

He then goes on a rampage of killing, culminating in a face to face meeting with an unarmed Marc whose life is threatened as well.

Niki and Marc both have colds, but the fight against crime continues.

A puppeteer is stabbed in the back during a performance of 'The Magic Flute' , and most curiously, his mouth has been taped over after his death.

When a taxi driver is found in a similar condition, Marc, Niki and Kunz know that they are looking for a serial offender.

A number of bodies are being discovered around Vienna and Niki and Marc link them to an illicit group who call themselves 'Ars Moriendi' (Latin for the 'Art Of Dying'). The group is comprised of members who pay huge amounts of money to watch two other members engaging in a lethal game in the course of which one of the two members will die.

Bets are taken by the organisers, and it is very big business indeed. It takes all the resources of the Vienna Murder Squad to track down the organisers of the group and their associates.

A young blonde woman is found strangled by her postman who comes under suspicion for the murder. It eventuates that a man posing as a postman was the real murderer, and that this man is psychotic, targetting young blonde women because of jealousy of his sister whom he perceives to have been favourited by their parents.

Eventually, he tries to murder the sister.

During a raid on a jeweller's shop things go wrong and the jeweller is shot and killed. One of the criminals, a woman, manages to hide the loot in a nearby antique shop before eventually being picked up by Marc and Niki.

After cross-examining the woman, Niki goes home to Marc's place, taking Rex with her. She is planning a surprise for Marc's birthday. She does not realise that the other two criminals involved in the robbery have her under observation and intend kidnapping her so that they can get their hands on the proceeds of the robbery.

Erwin Schuster is behind bars, but has a girlfriend, Elli Lischka who is besotted by him.

He manages to convince Elli to commit a similar murder to the one for which he was found guilty. He also supplies Elli with some of his DNA to further muddy the waters. By leaving his DNA at the scene when he is behind bars the whole system of DNA evidence will come under scrutiny, and Schuster hopes that he will be released.

Carmen lives with her ambitious mother in Vienna. Her mother's constant criticism and desire for fame for her only child lead Carmen into murdering a famous TV actress by hitting her over the head with a champagne bottle and filming the dead actress with her video camera. She becomes known as 'The Champagne Murderer' and Carmen finds this negative celebrity status so exciting that she murders another actress, hoping that the event will attract publicity.

After a third attempt at murder she is arrested by Marc and Niki, but is still enthralled by her fifteen minutes of fame.

An eccentric millionaire collector wants to buy an Egyptian mummy from an antique dealer. The antique dealer is a crook, and has already sold the mummy to somebody else.

The antiques dealer decides that in order to replicate the mummy, he must find somebody of a similar height, age and size to the mummy. An advertisement is placed for a person to fill a false TV spot. A young man applies but when he is never seen again his girlfriend reports the matter to the Vienna Polizei.

Season 9
108 :09x01 - The Attempted Assassination Of Rex (Nov/27/2003)
Walter Huneck had been jailed for murder six years' earlier, but is now out and plans to avenge himself on Rex by killing him.

He succeeds in shooting Rex, but Rex survives the attack and Marc and Kunz find that the Austrian animal protection laws are simply not stringent enough, and Huneck is allowed to walk free. Marc decides to conduct further investigations into Huneck's past and discovers that he is linked to a ten year old murder. Niki is on a training course and takes a day off in order to assist.

Huneck also has other equally deadly plans. He rents a soundproof room and proceeds to abduct a young woman whom he intends to torture. Kunz is on his trail, but it is a race against time to save the girl. Rex and Marc must come to the rescue.

Romanian orphans are being used by a gang of criminals who are using the children to pass forged bank notes around the shops of Vienna. Most of the children are ill and when one of them is bashed to death by a gang member they decide to dump his body at the local tip.

Marc, Niki, Kunz and Rex are all involved in this investigation to locate the children before more of them are injured or die.

When an elderly pigeon fancier is killed by an explosive device which is taped to one of his pigeon's legs, his son Gernot becomes suspicious and starts investigating the matter.

He discovers that a drug dealer, Laszlo, is involved, and that Laszlo is using carrier pigeons to smuggle drugs over the Austrian border. Laszlo murders Gernot and kidnaps his girlfriend. Marc, Niki and Rex are called in to investigate.

In separate incidents two people die after taking vitamin tablets. The Vienna Murder squad suspect that they are looking for an extortionist, but then discover that the murders are not quite as random as they seem.

When the murderer realises that a mistake has been made, a further attempt at murder is made.

112 :09x05 - A Night At The Hospital (Jan/15/2004)
Young female patients are being drugged, removed from their beds and sexually assaulted at night time in a hospital in Vienna. When Dr. Hurch, the doctor in charge of this section of the hospital, finds out who is responsible she is murdered and Marc and Niki are called in to investigate. They discover that Dr. Hurch had also found out that one of the doctors at the hospital had no medical qualifications at all, and was threatening to expose him for fraud and indecent assault. When another death follows Dr. Hurch's, Marc and Niki must act quickly before the killer strikes again.

Meanwhile, Rex unmasks a dog poisoner and brings him into headquarters for interrogation.

Rumours are abounding in Vienna that a huge crocodile is living in the Danube River, and when an attractive young woman called Doris vanishes while boating with her sister, the newspapers assume that she has been taken by the creature.

Despite the fact that not all of the citizens of Vienna are convinced of the creature's existence, Niki, Marc and Kunz must investigate the young woman's disappearance. When her body turns up in the Danube it seems possible that the rumours are true, but when her boyfriend is found shot to death the investigation is widened.

However, certain features do not add up, and Niki decides that she will do some undercover work as a prisoner in order to discover the truth behind the woman's death.

115 :09x08 - Nina At Midnight (Feb/05/2004)
When moralistic talk-back radio hostess Nina Klaus is involved in a car accident in which a woman is killed, she is suspended from her job at the radio station where she works and her nearest rival, Marion Ullmann, replaces her in the time slot.

However, Dr. Graf is able to ascertain that the dead woman was already deceased before she was pushed underneath the wheels of Nina's car, and it appears that it is a case of murder with a possible motive of revenge against Nina.

Because of her moralising attitude about drink, Nina has many enemies and knowing exactly where to start the investigation is a problem for Marc, Rex and Niki.

Two young teenagers are playing with a gun on an old building site in Vienna, but when the gun goes off an old tramp is accidentally killed. The two youngsters flee the scene and the gun is found by an eccentric lady who lives on the site in a derelict flat.

Later tests reveal that the gun has been used for multiple crimes, not just this accidental shooting, and Marc, Niki and Kunz investigate with Rex's help.

117 :09x10 - The Corpse Lived On (Feb/26/2004)
Herr Baumann is found mortally wounded, the result of a break and enter into his residence. When he eventually succumbs to his wounds in hospital the only clue he can leave about his killer are the words 'country house' and 'woman' .

All the leads point to a man who is painting a nearby house. This man has a shameful secret which he is trying to hide, plus he also has a criminal record and things are looking very grim indeed for him. However, Marc believes that he is innocent, and ultimately with Rex's help the true killer is unmasked.

Herr Walter, argumentative resident of a nursing home, is found pushed off his balcony, having fallen to his death while hanging out a birdcage.

A man with many enemies, including retired dancer Fraulein Gebetsberger and wheelchair bound Thomas Faber, it is a difficult job for Niki, Marc and Kunz to narrow the list down to a number of suspects and then to find out who the true murderer is.

During the course of this investigation Kunz makes friends with a miniature black dragon lizard which he plans to eventually release back into the Danube Woods.

A man is shot outside a restaurant where Dr. Graf is celebrating with friends. The man sustains a head wound which leaves him in a state of amnesia. He has no idea why he was being pursued by a group of Roumanian criminals, and has no idea who he is.

With Rex's gentle help, the man's memory gradually returns, and he realises that his girlfriend is in danger from the gang who are abducting Roumanian women and smuggling them into Germany to act as prostitutes.

121 :10x02 - At Last The Beast Is Dead (Oct/12/2004)
Rex directs Marc's attention to a box floating in a river, and a subsequent retrieval of the box reveals that it contains a very young puppy who is promptly christened Fritz because of its resemblance to Kunz. Rex becomes the puppy's babysitter until a suitable home is found for it.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Zartmann, a businessman, is found shot to death in a nearby park where he had had an assignation with somebody. He is detested by his family and during the subsequent investigation Marc and Kunz find out why this was so.

Late one evening an elderly man witnesses a woman being strangled by another woman, who then bundles the body into the boot of a stolen car and escapes.

It is Rex who discovers the body, hanging from a tree in the Vienna Woods. The victim was a well known model whose boyfriend had also been murdered by strangulation.

One of the members of an ice hockey team is suspected of using drugs to enhance his performance. During a fight with a team member he is hit over the head, badly injuring himself because of a heavy fall onto the ice.

Marc and Kunz are involved in the subsequent murder investigation, and must also clear Rex of charges that he pushed a man in front of a truck and killed him. When Rex is suspended from duty because of this, Marc concentrates his efforts on clearing Rex's good name.

125 :11x01 - The Meeting (Dec/18/2008)
After a jewel robbery goes wrong, a number of mysterious murders occur. The thieves involved in the robbery are being murdered, and the Austrian Police working in conjunction with the Italian Police discover that a death which took place in Vienna is linked to another which took place in the grounds of an Italian villa.

Inspector Fabbri of the Rome Police and Chief Inspector Hedl of the Vienna Polizei collaborate in investigating the two murders, and Inspector Fabbri discovers a new partner - Inspector Rex of the Vienna Polizei.

Inspector Fabbri is perplexed when he discovers that the latest murder in Rome is connected to the previous, presumably solved Austrian killings, the same gun having been used in all cases.

Fabbri again liaises with female Inspector Hedl of the Vienna Polizei who promptly has an affair with charming Guiliano Polidori, a wealthy Italian businessman. Hedl discovers that Polidori is the mastermind behind all of these crimes and is in fact using her to gain inside information. When her life is endangered it is Rex who comes to her rescue.

127 :11x03 - Chinese Shadows (Jan/01/2009)
Park, a Chinese Restauranteur, is the victim of ruthless standover man and gangster Chen, who is extorting money from Park and has him beaten up. Park's daughter Shu is missing, presumed kidnapped.

Forensic Pathologist Katia Martelli is attracted to Inspector Lorenzo Fabbri, but Rex soon becomes jealous and as the investigation proceeds Rex soon puts a stop to the budding relationship with a little bit of help from Morini, Fabbri's colleague at the Crime Investigation Bureau.
 
128 :11x04 - Art Lessons (Jan/08/2009)
When art critic Kurt Castro is found murdered the case is investigated by Inspector Fabbri and Rex, with Morini and Forensic Scientist Katia Martelli assisting. Fingerprint evidence indicates that the murderer is a former callboy by the name of Mirko Bertolini.

However, further investigation reveals that Castro's wife Gloria has a very strong motive for the crime. It is Rex who finally solves this complex and interesting case.
 
129 :11x05 - It's Not All Gold (Jan/15/2009)
Building contractor Franco Mantovani has been having an affair with his young secretary, Teresa Zauli. When Teresa falls pregnant Mantovani insists that she have an abortion. Teresa refuses, telling Mantovani that she will tell his wife all about the affair. Mantovani assaults Teresa, and she falls and hits her head, dying instantly.

Lorenzo Fabbri and Rex investigate the case and find that all of the circumstantial evidence points to Mantovani but that there is no real proof. It is Rex who finally solves this case, using his unique canine gifts.
 
130 :11x06 - Maternal Instinct (Jan/22/2009)
When a small boy is found unconscious and bleeding in a local park, Fabbri, Morini, Rex and Katia investigate. Forensic evidence indicates that the child was assaulted at a different area to the one from where he was found. Katia is interested in a button which has fallen into the child's trouser cuffs, realising that this is vital evidence in a particularly brutal crime.

Fabbri and Katia have dinner together during the course of the investigation. A jealous Rex plans to break up their affair.
 
131 :11x07 - In Vino Veritas (Jan/29/2009)
Following a night of passion with Katia, Inspector Fabbri is awakened by a phone call from Morini. A murder has been committed at a local restaurant and the owner, Giuseppe Iraci is the victim.

The motive behind the murder is obscure with no apparent robbery having been committed until Rex, with his superior sense of smell, discovers that some very rare bottles of wine have been stolen from the cellar of the restaurant.

Throughout this enquiry a jealous Rex assiduously ignores Inspector Fabbri.
 
132 :11x08 - Far Away From Here (Feb/05/2009)
When wealthy Barbara Loria is kidnapped by masked intruders, her bodyguard Riccardo Muzzi manages to shoot one of the kidnappers before he is himself fatally shot through the heart. As a former colleague and friend Fabbri is determined to bring the murderers to justice.

The kidnappers contact Barbara's father telling him that if he leaves the ransom money on a bus his daughter will be released. Fabbri disguises himself as a blind man with Rex as his seeing eye dog, and conceals himself on the bus among the other passengers.
