With a so-called pet therapy program, Timmy's mother tries to give sick persons new courage again. Clark, a boy in Timmy's class, confined to a wheelchair after a grave accident, seems a clear case for the therapy. Physically restored, he actually needs only training in order to be able to run again. But he refuses. Unfortunately, right now, there are no dogs available.. The only one is Lassie that Clark already knows . It would be quite ideal for him, and besides Timmy can be persuaded reluctantly to separate himself for some weeks from Lassie. Clark's condition improves very quickly, nevertheless he does not stand up out of his wheelchair. Then Timmy and Ethan hatch a plan to recover Lassie and at the same time force Clark to rise out of its wheelchair.
